Freakin' sucks.
You can see it happening somewhat first hand by clicking here (http://www.watashiwa.org/planetdreamcast01.gif) and here (http://www.watashiwa.org/planetdreamcast02.gif). ;o

Well, Gamespy went down halfway through implementation, so some people with custom avatars didn't have the ranking icons. We were just testing the ranking icons and fixing everything up, but then PSOW went down as I said, so I went to play PSO. When I came back, GS was up and got to see that they really looked sucky. ;D We're trying to find a new post ranking icon image, so just bear with us. Hehe.

Your opinion has been noted.

At any rate, gideon said no to custom avatars. Not my decision, it's his. Get over it.
It's just not going to happen. No matter how much bitching you do, no matter how many times you call it elitism, etc,. It won't change.
I could care less to be called an elitist or "God". In fact, it makes me laugh. Label me what you want. Makes no difference to me whatsoever.

I don't know if this is said already because I don't have the desire to read all 18 pages. But I agree that the petition should be removed, most if not all of it's function can be made in Rants or Site Related. That's all I got, other than the fact that since the duration that I've been here, I've never used the petition.

On one msg board I saw, they had a sign in name, and a user name they could change periodically. What I'm proposing is you could change our user names to sign in names, and allow us to change our names when we want.
Ayame

Frosty - I, and I'm quite sure the rest of the PSOW Staff are aware of user accounts with different names than the actual usernames; that of which could be changed periodically. But, although I'm not sure if such an update is even possible (I'm not the one updating the forum ;p ), I do know that there are many problems in doing so. First of all, what you're going to get is people immitating to be other users by changing their account names accordingly and perhaps even using their signature/avatar/etc., and impersonating to be them. Now, on some smaller forums this is okay (Usually about 100 members), but on much larger forums, you get alot of "disruptive users" (Users who flame, destroy topics, and would take advantage of such a name deature) and thus, the odds of name impersonation and even other acts are much higher and more likely to happen. Also, another reason is because, say if a user were to change their name to something totally different and even make a new signature, change their avatar (In other words, totally change how people look at them), users would no longer reecognize them, and this could cause a problem. And with the ability to change your username at will, if acts like this were to happen continuously, users would get confused/lost and that could create problems.
In other words, it's a good feature but could be used in too many disruptive ways. -.-; If you seriously want your name changed, you could personally PM one of the forum administrators and see what is possible.
I hope that clears some things up!
(If anything on that is to change, I'll be sure to update you on it) ;p

A reoccuring problem with signatures is that sometimes people use "" at the end, or it gets cut off by the 550 character limit. This causes most of any page with the person's signature to disappear, including the button on the edit profile page that would be used to correct this error if only it wasn't commented out.
A user who is new to using flash would most likely post <!-- comments in the signature field, since such comments are included in the .html file that flash compiles. On the other hand, malicious users could just be annoying with blocking the rest of the forum's posts.
Perhaps you could have the site remove any <!-- comments before storing them into the database. I can't think of any practical use for them, other than hiding javascript from older browsers.

Sorry if this's been mentioned already (spending the several hours to read all 20 pages of this individually to check seemed a little excessive), but how about some sort of support for PSO guilds/clans? Maybe some sort of registry with links to guild/clan websites and forums? More or less, use PSO World as a hub to link together all those individual groups, and effectively, unify them.

First is Email Notification for any topic regardless of whether you made it or not. It is available at the top of the topic viewer. It uses your private email address listed in your profile.
Second is the Favorite topics tracker, you click on Add to favorites at the top of a topic. This adds that topic to your favorite topics list. Then you can click on the view favorite topics button located at the bottom of the forum index and topic index to view all your favorite threads in one screen regardless of forum.

My god, eR! does a lot of work....
When you get a chance, I think it'd be cool to know where threads get moved to, or if they're deleted. Like, the topic that was moved/deleted would still appear in it's original place for a few minutes, with a tag saying where it was moved or if it was deleted. Maybe you could make it so it wasn't a link anymore.
E.g:
TEKKEN 4 SUCKS! [deleted]
A few minutes later, it would be gone, period.
Just an idea.

Redid front page news so that the older articles reference your custom news story ammount value. (I'm debating whether I want to have two user saved values for Full news and Past news)
And no I don't get paid heh any proceeds donated to this site goes for the funds we are using to sponsor some upcoming events which you guys will be seeing soon =).

Any chance we could have a "last login" thing on a user's profile please?

I was thinkign about something like that, I might add it in today. Of course any user that has set themselves as hidden will have this field disabled.

Added last login and last updated fields to user profiles.
If you have the hidden flag on your last login will not display.

The size of the java window.open windows are too small for some of the new screenshots, like rappy fan, and cut off some of the picture =>_>= nyan nyan http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/cat.gif
Maybe you could add a choice in users' accounts to make it so that after they post a message, it would automatically forward them to either the topic they just posted in or the forum they were posting in, and maybe add a drop-down menu to choose how long before they are forwarded, of course, with instantaneous forwarding as an option (Submit goes directly forum or topic).

Kent: Hmm interesting I may look into adding some choice options for dealing with that.

We should have a MAG in our profile just like our characters.
Davion
10-26-2002, 12:34 PM
I love that idea, Darrin. It could be part of a more in depth character profile that could be accessed by clicking on one of the 4 characters in a profile.
Or, if that's to hard, it could be like this...
Name: +Davion (SKYLY)
Class: HUmar
Mag: Bana
Level: 000

Added mags to character profiles and added birthdays in place of the Age feild in profiles so go set your birthdays. Tommorrow I will add a function that will show who's birthdays are on this day so that perhaps you could pm your friends on their birthday?
More to come.

Added topic labels for topics so that you can specify if you want what the genre is. Current choices are: Challenge, Battle, GC, XBox, DC. I hope this might help some of you out getting your topic noticed by who wants to?
doing some more stuff tonight keep tuned.

Cool. You should add item to that list?
LollipopLolita
11-12-2002, 04:31 PM
hmmm maybe, but mags, items and quests have their own forum too.
Could you maybe find time to list the special attacks of rare items in the profiles, as well as any special effects the equipent might add (like Soul Eater/Banish taking 1 HP every few seconds)?
The weapon descriptions don't always list it.
Maybe you could also add the stats of S-Ranks when they become available?

Thats a good idea we'll start to get to work on adding that info, working on some other info atm so stay tuned.

Uhm...
How about allowing emoticons in the Mood field.
How about push-button quoting. Like on the reply page, have the thread below the Submit-Preview-Cancel portion of the page, then you can push a quote button and it pops it in the Reply field with Quote tags and all. Yes, I'm lazy enough to want this.

Could we please have Male of Female symbols to use if people want? It'd be a good addition, at least I think so.

I have an idea. What if we had something in a person's profile that said where they were on the site? Like "Who's Online". This would be turned off if the person chose to be a hidden user.

you mean like the "Hide Activity?" option in your profile?
I think he's making a joke since you people seem to be ignoring his pleas for a genger mod.

Very funny. No it's not a joke, and they didn't ignore it. I've seen my answer to that idea.
Yeah, that's what I mean Lolita. That way people can see where you are on the site from your profile, but it could be turned off by the hide activity choice.
EDIT: That reminds me. How about a buddy list? If I wanted to send a PM to someone, it would be easier than hunting for their name in the forum. I know the little thing on the bottom of the forum index shows who's on, but it might be a cool idea anyway.

Can you fix/remove the thing where if your not logged and you login and post a reply at the same time, it actually works and doesn't give some error.
Or just remove it.

Here is a couple of ideas:
A part in your account so you can see your sent PM messages. Sometimes I do not get a reply from someone for a couple of days and forget what I PMed them about.
Also, I really wish HTML coding was on for Posts, Private messages, and just about everything else there is to type about(its fun to change text color!!)
How about two options about notification if people reply to your topics. Leave the e-mail one but what if a bot or something would PM you about replies to your topics.
That's all http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Well I've noticed that in some topics (is this the poll bug u keep going on about) that when someone replies, instead of showing the reply beneath a post, it just shows the title of the reply which you have to click on to actually read the reply. then if there is a reply to that reply you have to click on that and so on, so you can get all these nested replies. Why not just show all the replies on the same page as the original post, so it doesn't take you hours to go through one list of posts?
Also, I think it would be brilliant if you did a 'page of the future' so that whoever visits that page, it tells them what they will be doing 5 years from now. It would have to be 100% accurate though, or it would just be rubbish.
So what do you think?
cya!

Whoa, huge bump.
