I won't be, call me a Nintendo Fanboy (even tho I like Sony and Nintendo equally), but I'm never gonna get a Xbox, even if PSO is remade into a whole new game, but I have nothing against those that do.

I will get whatever version comes first and right now it looks like the Gamecube will.I mean Sega had this big Gamejam this weekend and we still didnt hear anything about the supposed XBox version.Either they are waiting for E3 now(Microsoft),to announce something or they are waiting for the official launch of the Online plans for the XBox,with PSO being one of the main draw(with Unreal and so on)for people to go online with the Box.

Yuji Naka was in Europe like 2 weeks ago and, in any interview, he said that when the GCN version is finished (and we saw it complete at GameJam) they will start to work on the Xbox port.
How long it will take to complete the game? No one knows. And if you add that Microsoft has not yet announced any concrete online gameplay strategy (Xbox BBA will be out? when? any Xbox dedicated game servers? etc...) the Xbox ver is far to be on the shelves.

The Xbox comes with a BBA, so we don't have to wait for one to be released. You can already play a few Xbox games online via Gamespy tunnel and similar progrms. Microsoft will probably unveil their online service plans at E3. And yes, I am definately getting PSO for Xbox.

Any other reasons besides those to get an Xbox? I'm partial to GCN and Sony (although not Sony in this case) so try some more ideas to get me to buy the Xbox and PSO for it. So far, I don't want to wait for PSO to come out for the Xbox when it's gonna come out sooner, I think, on the GCN in USA. Yeah, it's possible that there might be some newer features on the Xbox version, but until I see those, I'm sticking with the GCN.
I've seen the Xbox. So far, I'm impressed, seeing as it's a Microsoft product and Microsoft's only decent quality is marketing strategies; the quality of their products hasn't really ever been that great. But the Xbox is a little above their normal quality in products and I was, and still am, very impressed with it. Anyways, that's my rant on my Anti-microsoft stuff.

Right now I only own an xbox, but am thinking about picking up a Gamecube for Resident Evil. That's the only game that really interests me right now. I'm just going to wait for the Xbox version so I don't have to buy a BBA.

Why are people conserned with Microsoft's online plans when it comes to Sonic Team? The game shall be on Sonic Team's servers, and the online hardware is already included in the 'box. What does Microsoft have to do with anything?
The port shouldn't take more than a month to complete, so we should see a complete version at E3. Perhaps an early summer release (Julyish), as the game would have been already tested on the GCN for major bugs?

I don't think so.
Erm...the game *is* finished right now. All that has to be done is porting it to the X-Box from the GCN, and that is being done right now.
I'll probably get both.
I want to know what they're going to do about communication in the Xbox version.
I'd rather have voice-to-text conversion over voice-chat.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I feel sorry for anyone that really belives that PSO on XBox will have voice chat, there will be a lot of work to make it enjoyable for all players whom choose to use it, like the ability to ignore someone, turn it on/off, etc...

It very well could be included because microsoft is really pushing the voice commander. However I could easily see sonic team having keyboard support and a 3rd party making the keyboard.

The GC version is finished yes, but to say for sure there porting for xbox right now and that it will be ready at E3 is a bit far streched.
I'd wait for sonic team to make an official announcement before you assume and make it seem certain thats what is going on, since as i've said before sonic team have said next to nothing about xbox pso

Why? Explain why you think that porting a game will take more than 2 months.

They've said:
-It's a port of the GCN version, possibly with more added on.
-Voice chat is being considered.

To stay on task...I will be returning to PSO via Xbox. It's gonna be killer, but unfortunately the name "Gandalf" is going to be gone forever as the recent Lord of the Rings Movies have made this name more common than sex in the oval office. And seriously, who wants to be ANOTHER one of the many Gandalf's? Not I, I tell you...But i will ALways be the original.

I love the notion that the game will be ported in a month yet it will have "added" features. That doesnt even make sense. Think about it, ST took a year to port the game from DC to GC, yet they are going to add features like voice chat or voice to text in a month? This isnt me being fanboysih its just common sense, you will be lucky to see this game by X-Mas. Sorry to disapoint you. Microsofts network probably wont even be up till August anyways. heh kinda funny how the GC will be online before XBOX isnt it? An yes Microsofts networks do matter to PSO because Microsoft wants all games to run on their servers so they can charge a flat rate to play all online games on the XBOX. If Microsoft made an exception for ST whats stopping other game makers from demanding the same treatment? Dont you think ST is wondering how they will make money off the online portion of this on XBOX an dont you think it will affect when it is released? I do.

Doesnt sound like he plans to rush it out a month after GC PSO comes out does it? I'm sure he would if he could but its not possible. An remember there was a playable version of this game last year on GC yet it is just now seeing the light of day. Anything they add to this game will make it all the longer you have to wait. nonstanding other aspects of the debate, just wanted to specify that :
The PSO GC that we saw at the 2001 autumn TGS, that had a full new lvl and 4 player split already in took ST 3 (three) weeks to do port to GC, as they themselves stated at the time.

And with all the hard drive room and mandatory voice enabled communication for every x-box online game (not to mention being able to make and play your own soundtracks) There isnt anything that will beat the total capability of the X-box for a long time.

Reasons to get an Xbox:
1.) Half Life: Counter Strike
2.) Halo Online
3.) DOA3<<Incredible Games
4.)My judgement is gc games suck with the exception of it's shooters, RE, and PSO.
5.) Xbox has the BEST sports games in my opinion over all systems<and yes i own a ps2, and madden 2002 is more fun on xbox than it is on ps2>
5.) The 175$ controller coming out for xbox and it's Mech game will be a god damn addicting game where you control a mech with a controller that has over 40 buttons and 2 joysticks. yes this is true. ask abdur for the site where this info was obtained.
6.) Xbox only 50$ more for 2x the power of gamecube.
7.) Ninja Gaiden was cancled for GameCube and is now exsclusvly xbox which gave me the reason to own a xbox. cuz that game onws j00 all.

Because it's a port with voice chat, that's all it is. you see, I know what you people are thinking... You live under one imaginary rule: xbox = best graphics. Yeah, what if they DON'T improve any graphics, huh? what are you gonna do? You only want it because it's xbox. It's also cool because us PC-less players (Like myself) can play the game that i've heard was a damn good online. Oh... crap, I forgot, I can't get broadband.. damnit... not yet, anyway. But I want Halo online, though, I can't wait to start doing team stuff in a vehicle. Like in that Blood Gulch level, a team would have a full Warthog and park in front of the opposing team's base. The passenger gets out to capture the flag while the driver tries to dodge gunfire as the gunner starts taking people out. The passenger comes out with the flag and get's back in, and all 3 team members speed off, with the other team's flag waving in the wind while the other team watches in shame. ... Or they could send Ghost scouts to intercept them on the way there. What fun that would be...

I like how this X Box talk is popping up now. I thought this would all be Gamecube hype. ^_^
But today I just bought an XBox simply because my older bro has a Gamecube and wanted a system of my own. So I poor girl right now. If you want to know why I bought what many on the board call a demonic console. Then I'll tell you why I bought it.
1.) It's not another gamecube.
2.) It plays DVD's.
3.) Comes with modem.
4.) Xbox live.
5.) PSO (well duh)
6.) Halo! (I'm the one in the pinkish suit) ^_^
7.) Jet set radio (future, & TP) which I got future too.
8.) Good 3rd partys.
9.) Port of FF XI
10.) Should last as long as MS will support it which will be FOREVER!
