Anyways, after I got back I checked out the usual Shining Force site and foud that there are 2 more games in the making for PS2. I think I'm going to die...

Well, first time through it seemed a lot easier than the original (and SHFII, for that matter). Now though, every time you beat the game it gets harder with that save file (sort of like a New Game+)... you can New Game+ 99 times... each time it gets harder. The most I've seen people get so far seems to be around 8 or 9... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

And Sef, the original's story didn't extend beyond much of "stop the dark magician from awakening the dark lord"... the main draw was the excellent battle system. In the remake, though, the characters have more of a background, and the story and events are a lot more filled up. The only thing I seem to have a complaint with is that in this version it's way too easy to max our your character levels. For the extra challenge you'd have to try and beef up the naturally "late bloomer" characters... or rather... the sucky characters http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

After two days of play, I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough. I'd be quicker, but I'm trying to see what's all new in this remake version in comparasion to the original. Good stuff indeed.
