There will be field lobbies. That is, lobbies where creatures appear, that you can attack. It is unknown whether they can kill you or you can gain exp from killing them.

In the X-box version, you can listen to downloaded mp3s or pre-downloaded CDs while playing the game.

Sonic Team is currently investigating methods to prevent item thievery; one such idea is that if a weapon is dropped upon a character's death, the weapon will appear at the point where they were killed, but only they will be able to pick it up.

"Why do creatures have meseta and items on them?" Well, now we know... It's possible that monsters might collect items and meseta that's dropped if you leave it alone for too long.

Episode II is rumored to give access to more of the Pioneer 2. A new level to the P2 is open, which allows you to change your costume while in an offline or online game, and I forgot what I was saying, so... *clicks Submit*

I always wanted Pioneer 2 to be expanded. it's too small!

Better hope the trade center stays the way it is, or people are going to get real tired of the "new Pioneer 2" after the first few days. People who play MMORPGs know what I'm talking about, the amount of wasted time running from one end of town to another.

I used Babelfish to translate a Japanese game site. The URL is somewhere in my favorites list, I'll post it if I can ever find it again...

Whoa! Cool! P2 really DOES need more walking space;;...

Nendaiki
05-29-2002, 09:55 PM
Does that mean like another level accessible by an elevator or like more space outward somewhere?

Arekuu

Elevator. Kinda like the teleporter from the promenade to the Principle's Office, or so I hear.
Although it'd be cool if the elevator to the right of the Item Storage was opened...

When asked if we'd ever see vehicles in PSO, Yuji Naka replied "there are currently no plans to implement vehicles [in the game], certainly not in [episodes I & II]."
BUT, he didn't say anything about the Xbox version. Doesn't that kinda sound cool, zipping through the forest on a hover board?

I hope what I hear is true and Nintedno comes out with a harddrive, and ST just makes patches for download. That would make it so much more practical. That way, they can finish Ep1&2, and we not need worry for we know they'll be making more and more stuff for us ^_^

Yes, it would so rule to have out a twin brand on a hoverboard and run down two lines of enemies at once. But that must wait!

A better ending would also be nice.

Episode's I ending will be the same, in Episode II we'll learn more about how You-Know-Who became You-Know-What. It's rumored that in Episode II you can locate Survivors in Offline games that reward you with items and meseta.

I didn't know anyone else knew about the GC mini HD yet. =0
Basically, Nintendo's plan it to use the rectangular port on the bottom for a modem, the square one for a mini HD, and the remaining one as a 2-port USB adapter.
It's unknown whether or not Nintendo actually plans on releasing all of the add ons, but it's nice to know they were thinking ahead. =0)

Also, you can save 4 characters per memory card. ^-^
At least in my trial version you can...

BioFan

yes that's what I saw at a video from TGS...you could save more than 1 character per memory card...but I could be wrong...but if the trial version could save 4 per memory card, then I believe the final version could too, nothing wrong with saving more than one character per memory card...this is cool.

Malkavian

it would be logic 4 characters per memory card. NGC memory card is 4x DC VMU

word from ST in the e1&2 trial is that you CAN save 4 characters to a memory card. What about the memory card 251??

i'm thinking i'm gonna just work with one character for PSO ep. I and II... i may just make a character to try out a new class, and another that i really like... but i should keep myself from distractions and just play one character. 4 per card is gonna be great for alot of hardcore players, though!

lol, man nintendo has always been "thinking ahead" but never goes thru with their plans. Anyone remember the little port on the bottom of the SNES and N64?? Given nintendo's past im not counting on anything more than the US release of the BBA and Dial up modem, although JP might get the HD again...

Well PS2 have HD too

The 64DD failed, miserably, but that's because the Nintendo 64 never did as well as Nintendo had hoped. The GameCube is, well, perfect... It might not have too many games right now, but Nintendo designed it so that it could be expanded in any way necessary.
They don't WANT to release a hard drive for it, but if that's the determining factor between sinking and swimming, then they will.
Also, when I save 4 characters on my memory card, I still have space left over. I think Nintendo will limit it to 4 characters per memory card so that 4 people can play with just one memory card.

I don't want to be flamed, but I've almost found a way to get online with more than one player, in split screen, too.

ok....i dont know if any of u r interested(i am), sonic team has announced that ep1&2(the full ver), will b release on august 8th... its on the official site(japan)

Its probaly limited to 4 per card since u need room for download quests, guild cards, and hunters license. Its better than 1 per dc memory card. Then d/l quests were so big u could only d/l 1 at a time.

and items cant b transfer offline between ur own characters, altho u can play multiplayer mode, but no item transfer. whether it will b implemented in the full version is still a question mark

This is from one of the feedback from the japanese tester

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!You have made my week http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

And to stay on topic you will probally be limited to only 4 chars.Like almost any multiple save game the game will save chars by numbers(Example the first save will be something like pso1, the second will be pso2, and so on) and the maximum of chars on one card will be four no matter how many blocks are left on the memory card.

Oh there will be item transfering. What are they gonna do? Fix it so you can't drop anything or use the trade window when playing split-screen? That would be just idiotic. How are you supposed to give something to a friend who's playing split-screen with you? No, there's no way ST can prevent it, unless they get stupid and do what I mentioned. But nobody's THAT stupid.

Ina

u misunderstood me.....T-T that IS what the japanese beta testers said on the OFFICIAL TRIAL BBS, they said that they cant transfer items in split-screen mode, and whether ST will change that, St hasnt announce anything about it

I really wonder what kind of lame, pathetic excuse ST will bring to justify blocking split-screen item transfer.

If that is going to be the same in the retail version, I'm going to be royally disappointed.

Simple, they want you to go online to do that and they want your money. The idea that it's 4 player split screen is just to sweeten the deal, they'll never give up actual pocket gouging tactic specific features.

If they DO do that, that would put a serious handicap on everybody. You HAVE to be able to drop stuff. What are you supposed to do if you pick up stuff you don't need by accident? Pipe up to P2, run to the shop and sell it? I'm sorry, but no dropping would be REALLY retarded :|

I heard that FF XI is being released for xbox AND gamecube. I asked the guy at the store at how they would do it without a hard drive, and he just shrugged. I think FF XI would be worth releasing a HD for, just like PSO is worth releaseing a modem for.

i agree....... the split sceen was like the coolest idea, cause i wouldn't have to go online just to swap items and i can lvl like 4 characters at once.... but if this turns out to be like battle mode, when your done playing everything gets put back to the way things were when you started de 4 player game, and nothing you did in de 4 player game would count.. pso is not a party game its about finding new items and levelin, and if you find a kool weapon with good stats in split screen mode only to lose it when your done playing...... this would totally suck!!!
please let me know if i'm over reacting......
