Weird, isn't it? I almost fell out of my chair when I found out. She has a beautiful, haunting voice.

May 29, 2002, 09:21 AM
Yeah, Yoko Kanno does ALOT of music in anime. Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Macross Plus, to name afew. Pretty much all of her songs you can easily listen to.

Her voice is really nice though, wide spectrum of how far she can take it too.

It's always a nice surprise to look up the music to an anime you like, and see that Yoko Kanno did either afew songs or the entire sound track.

Hideki Naganuma rules! I searched around New York for 2 hours trying to find the shop that sold the JSR/JGR soundtrack, and damn, it was worth it!

- Sunna
- REM
- Smashing Pumpkins
- The Chemical Brothers
- Korn
- Daft Punk
- David Gray
- Pitchshifter
- The Hives
- Badly Drawn Boy

Man, I can't believe that anyone can listen to hardcore death-metal (or whatever it's called), like Cradle of Filth or Amen, that kinda music seems like an excuse to shout, and nothing more...but everyone has different musical tastes.

And the moshpit.....

STUPIDEST THING EVER

Meteor

Hhmm... I appear to have contradicted myself by putting Korn in my list. http://216.40.249.192/mysmilies/otn/evil/xolicon43.gif

Ah well, I'm a hypocrite... but Korn actually have meaningful lyrics, and can actually play their instruments well.

WourmGirl
May 29, 2002, 05:13 PM
Not all metal-heads like mosh-pits... I mean... I would prolly become a human ping-pong ball if ever i went in one... As for Korn... they on occasion have some meaningful lyrics. And if you look very closely in some of Cradle's lyrics, they don't necisarily mean something as much as tell a story. (ie Elizabeth Bathory a.k.a. The Bloody Countess) ((Cruelty and the Beast kicks bootie))

Ah, 80's hair bands. How is that music not fun to listen to. I mean, who has not sung Livin on a Prayer, Poor Some Sugar on Me, and Here I Go Again while drunk? The music of that era was just so fun...and they were talented musicians.

Not many fav bands, and for the most part, they're ska* bands:
- Less Than Jake
- Mighty Mighty Bosstones
- Five Iron Frenzy
- Supertones
- Me First & the Gimmie Gimmies
- Bob Marley
- Guitar Vader

*For those who don't know, ska, according to Webster's Dictionary, is "a form of dance music popular in Jamaica in the 1960's characterized by the use of saxophones and brass, a heavily accented offbeat, and the influence of New Orleans rythm and blues, jazz, and calypso." However, the style has lost it's Jamaican dominance and is now ruled by heavy-set white guys. I'm a scrawny white guy that plays it...
