What are the forum rules?
PSOW FORUM RULES:
Attacking Staff
Do not complain about, hold polls against, attack, annoy, harass, provoke, disrespect, target the staffers nor flame the staffers. We are very serious about this, we don't need attitude just because we are staffers and trying to make a good place for everyone. The staff does your dirty work for you. If you make an effort to upset a mod, they will not hesitate to ban you without prior warning or explanation. If you are unhappy with a staffer or the way the forum is ran, you are welcome to find another PSO related forum to post in or bring up the matter in a calm and adult manner with an admin or the staffer in question in PM's and don't take it out on or through the forums. Do not harass a staffer via your profile, your signature, PM's, Email or Instant Messenging programs, such actions will have an impact on your standing on the site.PSOW is not a democracy nor is it your playground. Flaming and attacking a staffer warrants enough justification for a ban. If you have a problem with a staff, address it via PM's or address the issue with the mod or admin.
Flaming
We will not tolerate flames of any nature. Flames include posts that clearly insult other members. We will not tolerate name calling, harassment, insults, offesive remarks and insinuations.
If you feel that you have been inappropriately flamed or harassed, please do not respond to it in any way and do not flame or flamebait back. Please contact a mod or an admin and inform them of the situation and provide a link to that thread. Before a staffer can take action, you have to be sure that you did not instigate the situation, that you did not further encourage the harassment, that you did not respond inappropriately, that you have tried to resolve the situation in a calm and matured manner or have calmly asked the offending member to stop, and that if things get bad, you have tried to remove yourself from the situation even if that means discontinuing to post in the thread the incident involves until it can be resolved by a staffer.
Offensive Posts
Respect EVERYBODY in the forum, everyone is equal. Posting in an offensive manner is not tolerated. No discriminatory or derogatory remarks. Racist remarks, derogatory statements about another religion or belief, or ethnocentrism will result in banning. Posts with the following content is not tolerated: Vulgar, profanity, sexually explicit, racism, enthnocentrism, bashing a particular religion, gender or nationality or sexual orientation. We will not tolerate hate language, harassment or threats. We will not allow posts linking to sites with such content or posting pictures of that nature. Choose your vocabulary wisely, do not call people "Gay" or use the offensive term "JAP". Whether your using the word offensively or not, do not use such slurs. Do not make posts that are unlawful, harmful, deceptive, misleading, deceitful, misinformative, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, harms minors in any way, degrading, intimidating or hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability. Blanket statements towards a whole race, country or culture is not allowed.
Disruptive Posts/Bumping
Do not make posts that disrupt the flow of the conversation and normal activities of the board. Posts of the following nature will be considered offensive: posts that force users to scroll excessively, largely blank posts, bump posts, posts of identical nature, hard to read or nonsensical posts and counting posts (this is my 100th posts posts). Excessive bumping is not tolerated. Do not post links that will disrupt the user's personal computer by means of pop ups, multiple pages etc. Do not make posts that will excessively stretch out the forum tables.
Trolling/Flamebaiting
Flamebaiting, or throwing remarks at users in attempt to get them to flame you, is just as bad as flaming. Do not start fights. Inciting fights will warrant a warning. Do not provoke fights. Do not respond to provocations. You do not have the right to flame just because someone provokes you. Instigating a situation will get you a warning.
Off Topic Posting In Other Forums Other Than Off Topic
Do not purposefully post in a irrevelant category or city, repeatedly post the same or similar content. Post in the appropriate forums. If you make a mistake and post in the wrong forum, it's okay. However, do not make posting in the wrong forum a constant behavior or you will receive a warning. Each post must have related content to the specific nature of the forum that the post is made in.
Spam/Repeat Threads
No Spam or freeposting. This rule is strictly enforced outside of Fresh Kills. This will include posts containing single words, or abbrieviations such as "lol" and the like. The forums are NOT a chat room, so no freeposting. If the thread is a poll, a simple yes answer for example is allowed, but please try to put a reason for the choice instead of just a one word post. Repeat threads are considered as spam and are not allowed, please check the forum to make sure your topic is not already been addressed. A repeat threads is considered as spam and if it needs moderation, it will result in a Warning Count. Once a thread is locked, do not continue the thread by starting a new thread. This will be seen as Spam.
Please note that Fresh Kills is still moderated and while you can freely spam in it, it does not mean that you can be an idiot there.
Flooding Forums
Users are not allowed to flood forums with disruptive posts or spam posts that do not relate to the topic.
Topic Hijacking
Do not 'switch' or 'hijack' other peoples' threads. If you wish to continue a conversation with one particular person which has no bearing on the original topic, please take it to Private Mail. Posts shall remain on topic with the original discussion.
Fair Treatment
Everyone will be treated equally and fairly, sex, age, consoles, join dates and post counts will not affect your treatment. No "Lamers". Think before you post. Make sure your post will not offend others. If anything, older members should set an example and act in a matured manner. Everyone shall be treated in the same manner and no one gets special treatment. We do however look at your standing in the forums and take your warning counts into perspective.
Privacy/Harassment/Stalking
Do not post messages from Private Email/Private Mail/Private Logs if they are meant to be private. In addition, please do not threaten or harrass members via Private Mail. Threatening a physical action towards any member will result in serious and possible legal action. Do not post private information about anyone, make posts that includes personal or identifying information about another person without that person's explicit consent. Do not post private information from our site somewhere else. Do not post private content or messages sent through our forums on another website without the explicit permission or consent of the author or the recipient of the private message. Continually harassing a member or a group of person and being offensive is not tolerated. Specifically going after a member in a hostile manner is not tolerated. Do not "stalk" or otherwise harrass anyone in anyway through the website or communication methods of the forums. Do not contact anyone who has asked not to be contacted. Your use of the PSOW forums signifies acknowledgement of and agreement to our privacy policy. You further acknowledge and agree that PSOW may, in its sole discretion, preserve or disclose your content, as well as your information, such as email addresses, IP addresses, timestamps, and other user information, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to: comply with legal process; enforce these Ruless; respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third-parties; or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of PSOW, or its members.
Attitude
We will not tolerate nor entertain offensive, rude, hostile, intimidating or difficult attitudes. Please address any personal issues or complaints about members by PM'ing a mod instead of taking it out on the board. By posting on PSOW, you agree that you are and shall be on your best behavior. PSOW shall expect everyone to be matured and sane. We have no room for pontification so don't even start preaching.
Bannings/Suspensions
Use of the PSOW forums is a priviledge and not a right. If a staffer feels you need to be removed, you may or may not be sent a private message or a public post in our forums about whatever behavior has initiated your removal. Failure to change your behavior and comply will result in a ban. In certain circumstances, there will be no warning and instead, the user will be banned immediately if the offense is serious enough. If you persist to be a difficult member, we will not hesistate to ban you. If PSOW members feel that you are a difficult member, we will not hesistate to ban you. PSOW staffers hold the right to ban anyone without explanation. Our policy is: "once banned, always banned" to be fair to all users. All other accounts made by a banned user will be instantly banned. All bannings are final. We will not entertain personal requests to be banned. We will not entertain any demands to have accounts reinstated. We shall not tolerate any complaints due to bannings.
Cheat Codes and Methods
Do not post any exploits or methods or parts thereof. Do not post links to cheat codes or sites containing them or post cheat codes. Do not ask for cheat codes. Do not post cheat codes or even attempt to describe it. Do not ask for cheat methods. Do not pm members asking or sharing cheat methods or codes. Do not ask for members to dupe for you. Doing so will result in an instant ban. We have a 0 tolerance level for these activities.
Dupe Give Aways in Trade
No advertising known dupe give-aways, especially mass give-aways, and no flaming people of suspected dupes. Do what you want on your own time, but when on PSOW, respect our rules.
Website/Board/Console Wars
No website, board or consoler wars are tolerated.
Personal Feuds/Wars/Agendas
We will not tolerate any member using PSOW to carry out personal feuds, wars and campaigns. You shall not use PSOW to carry out your personal agendas.
How To Erase Ad's Post
Posts on methods of how to erase or get rid of Gamespy's banner ads are not tolerated. This site is run by the actual viewing of the ad's, a steady decline of that viewing coupled with a increase in traffic would give us little or no lee-way with server problems in the future.
Pornography
Do not post pornographic images of any nature or links to such websites anywhere on the site including your profile or signature. Posting pornographic images or links of any kind will result in an instant ban. This means no posting of any adult-related material or material that would be non-suitable for viewing by minors. Posts with descriptions or details of any sexual act or organs shall not be tolerated.
Illegal Activities
Warez or illegal related content of any kind is grounds to be banned by our discretion.Links to such material as well as requests for it, are considered the same as posting the actual material. You may not ask for Warez, ROMs, or MP3s or ask for links to such sites containing specified content and you may not provide links to such sites.
Advertising
Do not advertise your site anywhere on PSOW, in the forums or using Private Messages. You may only do so from a link within your profile or signature. Do not advertise your Ebay Auctions. Do not make posts that constitute or contain unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.
Hoax News
Do not post, or link to PSO Hoax stories, this is a PSO site and will not tolerate such posted material.
Signatures
Signature limits still remain the same as they were before. 600 pixels horizontal, 180 pixels vertical, 35000 bytes max, NOT 35KB. This rule still applies to Flash signatures, do not have Flash movies loading other movies. Do not have midi music auto-playing on sigs and no more than 5 lines of text! The 5 lines of text rule includes line breaks not considering any pictures in the sig. If there is a picture on the sig, the whole height of the sig including picture AND text shall be no more than 180. Do not have HTML in signatures that breaks the forum table and configurations. Sigs that are too long shall be taken away upon our discretion and based on our judgement. Repeated abuse of signature limits will result in having your signature taken away. We will not tolerate repeat complaints of signatures being taken away if they break the rules in anyway. Test your signatures in your profiles or offsite.
Personal Photos
Personal photos should not exceed 600x450 in dimensions. Users abusing them will be warned first and should repeated abuse occur, said user will lose their ability to have a personal photo.
Custom Titles/Mod Alert Funtion/Profile/Usernames/Submit News/Topic Tags
Abuse of submit news function, custom titles, mod alert fuction, topic tags, profile and user names that go against our forum rules will result in a warning. Repeated abuse will result in a ban.
Site Contents
Do not steal or use any of our images or information to use on your or any website without our consent. This will result in a warning or an instant ban. Respect our users and do not steal their works, literary or artistic. Do not use any of our images or information without our specific written consent from the author or artist. We will update content for the site if and when we see fit or if there is any reason to on our own personal timetable. We will not be subjected to any timetable of any sort when it comes to site changes, additions and updates. You acknowledge that PSOW is not bound to any responsibilities in site additions, updates or changes.
Tehnical Issues
Do not abuse, exploit or attempt to play around with the code or technical nature of the site. Doing so might result in an instant ban. Do not threaten to hack into the site or forums, any threat notices off and on the site will be seriously noted. Do not make posts that contain software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware or telecommunications equipment. Members may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to discover any source code contained in the website. Do not make posts that impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.
Impersonation/Account Limits
Impersonating another member is not tolerated. You can only have one active account per user. Any other account shall be banned. Impersonating, mocking and antagonizing another user is not tolerated. Do not make posts that impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, a PSOW staffer, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity. This includes information listed in profiles and signatures. Do not copy or mock members or profiles of other members.
Unathorized Access
Accessing or attempting to log in another user's account that does not belong to you is not tolerated and will result in instant suspension.
Users normally have three warnings before resulting in serious action or a ban. However, depending on the extremity of the violation, a user may only have one warning or an instant ban. We welcome anyone to question our thinking process or our reasoning in a calm and adult manner through the use of the Site Related Forums or pm's. Mods will use their own judgement at their own discretion to evaluate the severity of offenses and consequences to be dealt. Each situation will be looked at fairly and depending on their circumstances. Offenses will be viewed as more serious when such actions are taken against a PSOW Staffer. Trying to come back and rejoin PSOW after your banning will carry a serious offense and will not be tolerated. Harassing a PSOW Staffer after your banning will not be tolerated.

Signature limits still remain the same as they were before. 600 pixels horizontal, 180 pixels vertical, 35000 bytes max, NOT 35KB. This rule still applies to Flash signatures, do not have Flash movies loading other movies. Do not have midi music auto-playing on sigs and no more than 5 lines of text! The 5 lines of text rule includes line breaks not considering any pictures in the sig. If there is a picture on the sig, the whole height of the sig including picture AND text shall be no more than 180. Do not have HTML in signatures that breaks the forum table and configurations. Sigs that are too long shall be taken away upon our discretion and based on our judgement. Repeated abuse of signature limits will result in having your signature taken away. We will not tolerate repeat complaints of signatures being taken away if they break the rules in anyway. Test your signatures in your profiles or offsite.

Flaming
We will not tolerate flames of any nature. Flames include posts that clearly insult other members. We will not tolerate name calling, harassment, insults, offesive remarks and insinuations.
If you feel that you have been inappropriately flamed or harassed, please do not respond to it in any way and do not flame or flamebait back. Please contact a mod or an admin and inform them of the situation and provide a link to that thread. Respect EVERYBODY in the forum, everyone is equal. Posting in an offensive manner is not tolerated. No discriminatory or derogatory remarks. Racist remarks, derogatory statements about another religion or belief, or ethnocentrism will result in banning. Posts with the following content is not tolerated: Vulgar, profanity, sexually explicit, racism, enthnocentrism, bashing a particular religion, gender or nationality or sexual orientation. We will not tolerate hate language, harassment or threats. We will not allow posts linking to sites with such content or posting pictures of that nature. Choose your vocabulary wisely, do not call people "Gay" or use the offensive term "JAP". Whether your using the word offensively or not, do not use such slurs. Disruptive Posts/Bumping
Do not make posts that disrupt the flow of the conversation and normal activities of the board. Posts of the following nature will be considered offensive: posts that force users to scroll excessively, largely blank posts, bump posts, posts of identical nature, hard to read or nonsensical posts and counting posts (this is my 100th posts posts). Excessive bumping is not tolerated. Trolling/Flamebaiting
Flamebaiting, or throwing remarks at users in attempt to get them to flame you, is just as bad as flaming. Do not start fights. Inciting fights will warrant a warning. Do not provoke fights. Do not respond to provocations. You do not have the right to flame just because someone provokes you. Instigating a situation will get you a warning.
Off Topic Posting In Other Forums Other Than Off Topic
Do not purposefully post in a irrevelant category or city, repeatedly post the same or similar content. Post in the appropriate forums. If you make a mistake and post in the wrong forum, it's okay. However, do not make posting in the wrong forum a constant behavior or you will receive a warning. Each post must have related content to the specific nature of the forum that the post is made in.

Impersonation/Account Limits
Impersonating another member is not tolerated. You can only have one active account per user. Any other account shall be banned. Impersonating, mocking and antagonizing another user is not tolerated. Do not make posts that impersonate any person or entity, including, but not limited to, a PSOW staffer, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity. This includes information listed in profiles and signatures. Do not copy or mock members or profiles of other members.
Disruptive Posts/Bumping
Do not make posts that disrupt the flow of the conversation and normal activities of the board. Posts of the following nature will be considered offensive: posts that force users to scroll excessively, largely blank posts, bump posts, posts of identical nature, hard to read or nonsensical posts and counting posts (this is my 100th posts posts). Excessive bumping is not tolerated. Do not post links that will disrupt the user's personal computer by means of pop ups, multiple pages etc. Do not make posts that will excessively stretch out the forum tables.
Tehnical Issues
Do not abuse, exploit or attempt to play around with the code or technical nature of the site. Doing so might result in an instant ban. Do not threaten to hack into the site or forums, any threat notices off and on the site will be seriously noted. Do not make posts that contain software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware or telecommunications equipment. Members may not decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to discover any source code contained in the website. Do not make posts that impose an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure.
Flaming

Respect EVERYBODY in the forum, everyone is equal. Posting in an offensive manner is not tolerated. No discriminatory or derogatory remarks. Racist remarks, derogatory statements about another religion or belief, or ethnocentrism will result in banning. Posts with the following content is not tolerated: Vulgar, profanity, sexually explicit, racism, enthnocentrism, bashing a particular religion, gender or nationality or sexual orientation. We will not tolerate hate language, harassment or threats. We will not allow posts linking to sites with such content or posting pictures of that nature. Choose your vocabulary wisely, do not call people "Gay" or use the offensive term "JAP". Whether your using the word offensively or not, do not use such slurs. Do not make posts that are unlawful, harmful, deceptive, misleading, deceitful, misinformative, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, pornographic, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, harms minors in any way, degrading, intimidating or hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability. Blanket statements towards a whole race, country or culture is not allowed.

Off Topic Posting In Other Forums Other Than Off Topic
Do not purposefully post in a irrevelant category or city, repeatedly post the same or similar content. Post in the appropriate forums. If you make a mistake and post in the wrong forum, it's okay. However, do not make posting in the wrong forum a constant behavior or you will receive a warning. Each post must have related content to the specific nature of the forum that the post is made in.
Spam/Repeat Threads
No Spam or freeposting. This rule is strictly enforced outside of Fresh Kills. This will include posts containing single words, or abbrieviations such as "lol" and the like. The forums are NOT a chat room, so no freeposting. If the thread is a poll, a simple yes answer for example is allowed, but please try to put a reason for the choice instead of just a one word post. Repeat threads are considered as spam and are not allowed, please check the forum to make sure your topic is not already been addressed. A repeat threads is considered as spam and if it needs moderation, it will result in a Warning Count. Once a thread is locked, do not continue the thread by starting a new thread. This will be seen as Spam.
Please note that Fresh Kills is still moderated and while you can freely spam in it, it does not mean that you can be an idiot there.
Flooding Forums
Users are not allowed to flood forums with disruptive posts or spam posts that do not relate to the topic.
Topic Hijacking
Do not 'switch' or 'hijack' other peoples' threads. If you wish to continue a conversation with one particular person which has no bearing on the original topic, please take it to Private Mail. Posts shall remain on topic with the original discussion.
Bannings/Suspensions
Use of the PSOW forums is a priviledge and not a right. If a staffer feels you need to be removed, you may or may not be sent a private message or a public post in our forums about whatever behavior has initiated your removal. Failure to change your behavior and comply will result in a ban. In certain circumstances, there will be no warning and instead, the user will be banned immediately if the offense is serious enough. If you persist to be a difficult member, we will not hesistate to ban you. If PSOW members feel that you are a difficult member, we will not hesistate to ban you. PSOW staffers hold the right to ban anyone without explanation. Our policy is: "once banned, always banned" to be fair to all users. All other accounts made by a banned user will be instantly banned. All bannings are final. We will not entertain personal requests to be banned. We will not entertain any demands to have accounts reinstated. We shall not tolerate any complaints due to bannings.
Cheat Codes and Methods
Do not post any exploits or methods or parts thereof. Do not post links to cheat codes or sites containing them or post cheat codes. Do not ask for cheat codes. Do not post cheat codes or even attempt to describe it. Do not ask for cheat methods. Do not pm members asking or sharing cheat methods or codes. Do not ask for members to dupe for you. Doing so will result in an instant ban. We have a 0 tolerance level for these activities.
Dupe Give Aways in Trade
No advertising known dupe give-aways, especially mass give-aways, and no flaming people of suspected dupes. Do what you want on your own time, but when on PSOW, respect our rules.
Website/Board/Console Wars
No website, board or consoler wars are tolerated.
Personal Feuds/Wars/Agendas
We will not tolerate any member using PSOW to carry out personal feuds, wars and campaigns. You shall not use PSOW to carry out your personal agendas.
How To Erase Ad's Post
Posts on methods of how to erase or get rid of Gamespy's banner ads are not tolerated. This site is run by the actual viewing of the ad's, a steady decline of that viewing coupled with a increase in traffic would give us little or no lee-way with server problems in the future.
Pornography
Do not post pornographic images of any nature or links to such websites anywhere on the site including your profile or signature. Posting pornographic images or links of any kind will result in an instant ban. This means no posting of any adult-related material or material that would be non-suitable for viewing by minors. Posts with descriptions or details of any sexual act or organs shall not be tolerated.
Illegal Activities
Warez or illegal related content of any kind is grounds to be banned by our discretion.Links to such material as well as requests for it, are considered the same as posting the actual material. You may not ask for Warez, ROMs, or MP3s or ask for links to such sites containing specified content and you may not provide links to such sites.
Advertising
Do not advertise your site anywhere on PSOW, in the forums or using Private Messages. You may only do so from a link within your profile or signature. Do not advertise your Ebay Auctions. Do not make posts that constitute or contain unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes," or any other form of solicitation.
Hoax News
Do not post, or link to PSO Hoax stories, this is a PSO site and will not tolerate such posted material.
Signatures
Signature limits still remain the same as they were before. 600 pixels horizontal, 180 pixels vertical, 35000 bytes max, NOT 35KB. This rule still applies to Flash signatures, do not have Flash movies loading other movies. Do not have midi music auto-playing on sigs and no more than 5 lines of text! The 5 lines of text rule includes line breaks not considering any pictures in the sig. If there is a picture on the sig, the whole height of the sig including picture AND text shall be no more than 180. Do not have HTML in signatures that breaks the forum table and configurations. Sigs that are too long shall be taken away upon our discretion and based on our judgement. Repeated abuse of signature limits will result in having your signature taken away. We will not tolerate repeat complaints of signatures being taken away if they break the rules in anyway. Test your signatures in your profiles or offsite.
