View Full Version : FKL Contest Decided

geewj
Jun 27, 2004, 05:56 PM
Ok, we have our contest.

The rules are this.

Starting tomorrow I am going to make a topic a day for 6 days. Three will be made at 6AM PDT, and three will be at 6PM PDT (PDT is the forum time).

28th- 6PM
29th- 6AM
30th- 6PM
1st - 6AM
2nd - 6PM
3rd - 6AM

In the thread is will say something like this.

"The last post to be made at 6:37AM wins."

The times for the end of the threads will vary, but will never be past 7AM/PM.

If you win one thread then don't participate in any of the other ones, as you can only win once.

Once the 6 winners are found then I'll discuss with the winners to set up times for the final rounds.

3 one on one threads will be made with a similar format to the first threads. Only the 2 specified people's posts will count in this thread.

Once the 3 finalists are left, I will make another thread for all three of them, and the winner of that is the winner of the contest.

The contest prize is you get to have any thread you want stickied (within reason). Either choose one you like, or make a new one to sticky.

geewj

At the very least, a month.

And in the event that something bad happens in it, I'll delete posts rather than locking it.

No, this won't effect any other part of the fourm.

(heh, no stickied fanfics for you fan works people)

Aha! Loophole! Create a thread in FKL with a copy of your fic, or linking to your fic. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Actually I was going to say that.
I don't see why not. Of course, expect a bunch of spam from the FKLers, and no real differenc ein readers anyways...

A non-spam fanfic in FKL. Well... (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=84871&forum=14) you can imagine what would happen.

If you somehow find a way to make the rule breaking sig seen only in FKL, then maybe...

Doubtful though, since it's against a rule that is applied to all of PSOW.

This of course is assuming that my internet is working at the set times -_-.

As to not be set back a day lets alternate the times to...

28th- 6PM
29th- 6AM
30th- 6PM
1st - 6AM
2nd - 6PM
3rd - 6AM

And in the future if my internet goes does I'll have someone designated ot make the thread for me.

I would think that it would be a stickied, unlocked topic.

geewj

No, it will be east to find. The contest part is just getting the last post in, not anything else.

Cool. It would be more interesting, though, if we had to find it. But it's cool as it is.

Even luckier for me, my time zone is 2 hours ahead so I don't have to get up at #!&$ing 6AM in the morning. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

geewj
Jun 28, 2004, 08:49 PM
Mine is 3 hours ahead so I can resonably be there for both.

The point of having a 12 hour difference between the two times is that if one is either too early or too late for some people, the other should be decently timed.

Yay, the change knocks it into line with my schedule. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

No, really. Monday and Wednesday, 6am is 9am EST and I'm in class. XD Tuesday and Thursday 6pm is 9pm and class gets out at 8:50, and I'm on the road driving home until 9:30ish. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Basically based on GMT topics will be posted at

2AM-3AM and 2PM-3PM

minutes are the same in every region so thats just luck of the post being place last on the minute stated

Oh, and Frink, you may want to edit the times in the first post.

geewj
Jun 30, 2004, 09:00 PM
For the semi finals I'm gonna make threads that are at good times for the two people in them.

The days will be as followed...

5th - #1 vs #2
6th - #3 vs #4
7th - #5 vs #6

So if you win a thread, PM and let me know what time is good for you.

Well, according to the locked notice, it seems alright enough to do this sort of thing occasionally, but if everyone does it occasionally, then it will always be happening.

At worst you'll probably get a PM from Frink as a verbal, but by the time he gets back Mike or someone else could have scattered the posts anyways.
