View Full Version : Spider-man 2....game

Ok......I like the game so far.

But, there's one tiny *ahem* problem.....they claim this is a true to life "New York City", yet I cannot find "Ground Zero". Though, I know the general area of the twin towers....I have looked for ground zero whenever I've had the chance, and frankly I just haven't found it.

I'm guessing it was left out though, seeing as I haven't been able to locate it yet. Has anyone else found it?!

This isn't much of a rant......but if they did leave it out, it's a little disrespectful *in my opinion*. People shouldn't brush it off and ignore it.......it's part of our history now like every other building, monument, cathedral, etc etc.

If it is in the game, then *damn* I'm having the hardest time finding it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_evil.gif

Er ....

If you check the hostory in the movies, there originally was a scene where spiderman hooks a web between the towers (first movie)

Due to recent evens, that removed that scene.

Probably kept it out of games for the sake of recent times too. =/

all else fails, looky up gamefaqs.com (http://www.gamefaqs.com) for a walkthrough or something.

Is it required? or is it something you're looking for for the hell of it ? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm just looking for it that's all. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, if they left it out........then it's not really a bother. But, I would have liked to see it anyway. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Oh well.......

I also *finally* figured out how to save the people sinking just off shore. And I still can't save them all.....so some of them still have to die either way. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

If the company publishes a game with Ground Zero in it, Bush will nuke their corporate office.

I think that summed it up pretty well.

I remember reading article about how some games were delayed because they had the Twin Towers in them. They had to remove them from the game.
Also, I remember reading somewhere that it's only half of New York City, not the whole thing. I've never been NYC, though. I don't think they have Queens in the game either, the place where Peter grew up in in the comics.

I read that they put two beams of light in place of the towers, like they actually did in Manhattan. (They're not there anymore though, right?)

So yeah, look for the beams of light, and that's what you're looking for.

So far nothing.......I think the were replaced with small buildings, but I haven't really been able to figured out if they replaced them or snuffed them out. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif

Now I'm curious. Do you know the exact location of Ground Zero? I think it is suppose to be near Broadway and...I want to say Fulton St. (I'm not sure, I don't live in NYC, I just remember that intersection from the last time I went there).

If they don't have it in the game, I'm curious what they would've put in its place. It's not like Ground Zero is a small place or anything, it covers a number of blocks in width and length.

Well I've only been to the city once in the past year! And all I did was head straight to Roseland for a concert.

And to quote the IGN review of the game:

"In a classy move, Treyarch put in two beams of light at Ground Zero."

They are actually rebuilding the buildings from what I saw. I doubt that they will be rebuilding it to its original height, but I'm guessing they'll build it up a couple of stories because people still need a place to work.

Well, they had a bunch of architechs submit their designs and ideas for the rebuilding of it.
They already voted on which on to build.
Oh, and the new one has a bunch of memorial thingies.
And the (new) tower will be 19xx feet. (whatever year the original WTC went up)

The design they apptoves is a semicircle of 8 towers with the tallest building in the world at the "bottom". In the center of the semicircle will be a memorial and there will be another one on the first few floors of the new building.

I found a perch on a building/skyscrapper that was literally covered in feathers. I think it was "Vulture's" feathers too *since they were yellow and green*.

That's an interesting little tid-bit seeing as I have the guide and there's no mention of him in it at all. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

But, you know.......it sucks cuz I can only play it every so often now that I have a job. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Well.......I found "Ground Zero". I was about 5 or 6 blocks off in my search. It appears to be near the coast where Liberty Island lays just off shore. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Too bad it's a pain getting to Liberty Island. There's so many secrets there. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

I also found the location of "Times Square", but it doesn't look the same.

Ok I just downloaded the game, and played it to where you have to fight Mysterio.

Um, when do I actually get to explore the city? o_O

I tried a couple of times before, but you couldn't really go too far.

If it's a demo it is very limited. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

If not then maybe you're going after your main goals too early. If there isn't a time limit for a particular goal......go surf the city and stop a few crimes here and there, and also go check up on Mary Jane. Then when you think you're ready to take on your next objective....do it?! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

I don't think it's a demo version. I think I may have just gone after objectives. I might try starting over. But how do you know where things are (Mary Jane for example).

Go to the city map *Gamecube, press Z and start at same time {I have no idea how to access the maps on the other consoles???}*.

Key Locations (?) will be places like hospitals, your apartment, Mary Jane's apartment *in Soho*, the movie theater, etc etc etc. The general idea of that location is a square picture *they look like a childs abc cube except with pictures of houses and movie reels and first-aid signs*.....
