I remember one of my first battles...
I finally got V2 working, and my good friend Serendipity gladly helped me in my first battle... Battle #3. Did I ever get owned. However as time passed, my tactics expanded, and my power grew. Eventually I outperformed even some of the best Japanese V2 players (who practically ran V2 at that time)... and Cube battling a US V2 player became a rare sight... they were too easy! And PSOW battlers where even worse! No offense to you V2 battlers but man you guys stunk. I'm still undefeated in Mode 2, 1 on 1. Even after my retirement. Eventually I left the game with over 140 wins (if memory serves me correct), and less than 20 losses all together... However, after I left PSO and returned for a short while i learned that more US players had gotten the game and battles were more and more occurent. A lot of awesome battlers emerged, such as Sniper, and other friends... but yet still PSOW lacked and super power battlers....
Why is that!?!?
I HOPE HOPE HOPE PSOW proves to be a challenge in GC PSO V2...
Because i'll be awaiting them.

Pfft. WHATEVER. I remember the first time we fought it took half the game for either of us to kill the other. I believe we were fighting in one room for like 5 minutes. And when the end of the game came, I think you beat me by one kill. Yeah, I still lost, but I think I gave you a run for your money. PUNK.
I was a pretty decent battler back in the day... 260 wins/32 losses if I remember correctly

I got to 10 wins, 0 losses and retired. Heh, but that was with my force, and with that god/tech trick thingy (before I knew what it did...) I'm not too good at battle. :/

if my memory serves me correct, everytime you beat me it was only by one kill.
and sniper was an importer.

Sniper Nick posted on GSCCC and even got banned after the infamous Sonic Team clamp down, which came out of nowhere (anyone remember that?).
He even went and got another copy and Hunter's License. Talk about an enthusiasm to hack...

Well i never battled Cube, or hardly any1 from PSOW, but only 2 people had ever beaten me. Sniper, who Cube mentioned, and a friend named Ping-Chan. Ping-Chan and I had some awesome battles. If my memory serves me correct, our battles started many a fights between him and I. Well now 4 Cube, I see you have changed your title, so u must be gettin ready. I know u seen the comment i made on another thread about you and I going at it. I would love 2 be one of the first people u battle my friend. Im not sayin I would win, BUT never underestimate GIRL POWER.
Now, im gonna eat my vitamins, say my prayers, and get ready brother...cause CrystalMania(crystals my real name) will run wild on you....OHHHHH YEEEAAAAAHHHHH

Yes PSO has evolved quite a bit in the past months. When the US v2ers came, there were lots of Ultimate games, but hardly any Battle Games. Nowadays, there are lots of battle games, and lots of people with 500+ records, even 1500+.
But one thing also has changed. There aren't many FO's. Back in the importer days, and even early US v2, everyone had a FO partner. It was WAY better when it was HU+FO battles. Today it's all hunters and games "B6 NO FO".

The only times I won battles was while doing some weird BA modes (my memory doesn't feel like serving me right now so I forgot -_- I think those were the new BA modes)
lol Wata I remember those battles... No mags or anything.. it was quiet a challenge, since you were some 20 levels above me tehehe, but battling u was really fun, because it wasent easy..

As for my early V2 days...
Sniper was not a hacker? His name was Sniper, not Sniper Nick... A good battler... almost as good as me... almost...
Back when i had imported V2 it was a rarity to see anyone with 100+ wins.. Before I hit 100 I had only seen one other person with more... But those were the days... even battles, no cheating, no fake weapons, it was all great... and eventually I had to stop doing certain battles because of dupes, etc... Which is why I stuck to mode 2 most of the time...
I'm getting pumped for GC battling.. Hopefully I can beat my record... whatever it was.

Cube, I only battled you a few times and you usually beat me by one or two wins, but i did ti you in B2. I plan on battling a lot in EP1&2 and cant wait to remake Brimstone and 2 /33T 4 J00 for some rocking action. I hope to see you on the battle circuit, maybe you even join some of the b6ing.

heh, cube you didnt face me. During the summer tourney madness, you could see me at every tourney.. some I lost, some I won, but those days were awesome. Too bad I didnt get to battle you as much, I think i played you once, and you beat me(tried to use mainly techs).

I battled like 3 people, I won once. SteveII was my teacher, he showed me all about the stuff.
I asked Cube to battle, he said no, youll beat me, you are just too awsome.
Justin: Maseta mode is soo much fun! I don't really count it as battle because its more of a capture the flag type of game... equally fun however... I neever was TOO good at maseta mode though, tons of fun!

Me and Exodus started a tourny, well he did, I was the BattleMaster. It went pretty well, and was organized very well. I forget who won or who the contestants were.
Anyone remember ol Exodus, me and him were good friends on here. I wonder what happened to him...

Heh battle mode...I used to be quite good at that. My first character was a RAmar which was a terrible choice for a combatant. For PSO GC ill probally start out as a HUmar or HUcast.
Cube still thinks he is the best I see. I recall winning my share of tournaments. As for PSOW battlers, only good ones i remember are Bob Jones (squall) and Razma, X13 was quite decent as well http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif.

Battlemania, that was neat... as a matter of fact for some reason I read the whole Battlemania thread again just yesterday...
I think Exodus just decided to leave after Battlemania finished
Maybe when the game comes out on the cube, we can hold another battlemania or PSOW tourney... who knows!

Im always up to roxxor J00 in B6 Cube. It will take some training to beat you in B2 tho, J00 was pretty damned good. And to think i only battled the last month before i quit, i think that will occupy 70% of my time now OoO.

I am the master of battle!Who do you think influnced the BA6 no FO rules!?You HUNTERS were all scared of us FO's.I know how to set traps and how to survive in low hp moments.Unlike me I can score big in battle and stay at lv 1 for quite some time(although not a good idea since others gain points after awhile).The only thing I hate about battle is when I get some fools hp to the yellow mark and they RUN.Then some lucky hunter kills my prey ARGH!

I'd never tried to be good in battle. I think is just for fun. Compared to shoot-em'ups like quake, unreal, halo, etc... PSO battles suck. If I want to battle a lot and master it I won't play PSO...

Lol slash, Cube was the best at B2, he never lost a bout. And from what i remember me and physalis were able to take down sniper and his partner before, i believe i beat him 1 on 1 also.

Of course everyone sucked when I battled, which is why I mad this damned topic! However there were many worthy challenegers.... Souljah, Sniper, Newman, Sedyne... However none of them ever beat me. Ever... So yes. When It comes down to battle mode, I am a cocky bastard... why? Because I can. Heck, If i was still battling since I got PSOv2 like Sniper, and many other are, I wouldn't be surprised if I had hit 3,000 wins by now. Geeze, I remember when people freaked out when i had 200 lol.

Real Pro's!? Cube defined the "pro" of battle.
He may be a little rusty... He may be oldschool... but with practice, I will without a doubt conquer once again. Cube has not lost it yet...
I've heard of people like WWWWWWWWWWhatever, and others, and I respect their success in battle... However PSO GC is a new game... were not adding on to our hundreds, or even thousands of wins. Were starting from scratch, where of course, I will scratch everyones ass who challeneges me. One on One, mode 2. Hands down.
However I WILL admit that I do need practice, and that the skills and techniques of those who continued to battle after me have greatly increased... Mode 2, I still reign, and will continue to reign undefeated. However, I do need practice with other modes which I have not participated enough in... I will admit that...
Nevertheless, do not... ever underestimate the greatest HUcast of all time... Cube, King of All Androids.

heh 1 out of 50 wasnt too bad. It was rough battling as a RAmar. Thats why im probally gonna make my primary character either a HUmar or HUcast.

You said 150 wins with 20 losses and you call your self the ultimate HUcast battler, i had 160+ wins with under 15 losses and only 2 or 3 disconnects....
I know i wasnt the best but i know i was above average, if you want to say your the best i challenge you and a friend a rule 6 2 on 2 when GC pso comes out, oh and my partner is slash... I mean if your droid enough

Hmmm, I'm not sure if you consider him a bad battler or what, but I noticed no one mentioned Debonair. I don't care what any of you said, he was a very good battler. Please bear in mind however, I had 200 wins when 100 wins was "almost unheard of" Which Is why I want to prove myself once again since great battlers such Sniper have hit the thousands.

Nah, Blue Mary, i don't recall a Jill-V. Anyone here that wants a challenge in B6 I'll accept. My skills are probably rusty, but i will become /33T at B6 once again. I was only beaten by 2 people in b6, Artic and a Humar friend of mine who got me into battling in the first place, but this was as an amateur.
Brimstone, you said you only lost twice in B6? was this HU or FO, and what was your character's name?

I played battle with my HUmar.. the most.. I loved to battle 1 Vs 1 in BA6 and later I played 2 Vs 2 with my friend Hybrid(I hope he comes back in GC).

After you killed my ego the first time I played battle, Cube, I decided Battle was not for me... but I am not someone to give up on a challenge so i look forward to honing my skills and i guarantee you I will beat you atleast once in PSO GC...Just dont do what you did last time and putting me in battle for the first time with some crappy "HANDGUN +3" (I was just starting v2)...and you had every red weapon out there... that was so unfair, but I dont doubt you don't have real skills without the rare weapons because you dont win 200 battles without being pretty good... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I'd really enjoy that! I don't like GameFAQS or Mamak, so I'd have a good time. I'd just need to get a little better @ it....though it'll take me a while to get as good as Cube though.....
Well most of the usual battlers still play like BlindPhantom, Hybrid, Burgerdog, Heavens Eve, Kyo, Artic etc.
Oh and Hybrid won't be on GC PSO....he just doesn't want it.

Good luck all those who go into battle vs him cocky, i know i'll wait a few weeks for practice on my part before i even think of takeing him on.

hey don't i count as a good fighter? i beat many a japanese player when i was in my prime...then i got doin HS(4/32) somewhere on a non miranda place. don't remember where. i was hapy when i got to lvl 200 but things weren't the same after that. it was like i felt i had finished the game. you see me ocassinally online but not as much anymore. anyway, i'll be there to take you out this time cube.

Battle is alot different now. A rule 2 game is very rarely seen. It's all about rule 6 now. Even in GC PSO I can tell if they put rule 6 back in or something very similar, that rule will be the most played yet again.

trust me, i'm unbeatable in stage 3. the problem is that no body likes to play it. its either rule 6 (kills person, revive him, repeat) or rule 2. rule 3 is what i like because you need to memorize where warps will send you.
i poured over 3000 hours into that character. don't tell me he's hacked.
we all start with a clean slate in the GC version. lets not bring past lives into it. thing'll be bitter from the start.

Well, so far im undefeated in mode 2 one on one, but unbeatable?? No one is unbeatable... in my mind theres always a worthy competitor out their who has the ability to beat you..
Mode 6 battle is awesome. I love it. And I'm very good at it... very, very good... I'm not undefeated in it though. I usually play mode 2,3,6, and team maseta.

Who knows which hunter class will be dominant this time. Since HUcasts ATP is supposedly even higher than DC PSO, but with lower ATA. No point having super high ATP when you can't hit them....and of course...HUmar has no shifta...

Battle mode is indeed some good fun and I look foward to battling with friends on GC. But I personally really can't take battle mode as something I can brag about, not because I suck(far from it). Just that if a FOnewman wins in rule 6 all the time against a ranger, it's not because hes 1337...it's because of balance.
I'll just go over a few reasons why I feel this way.
When I first played battle mode I was totally hooked. I think my first game was with IVI, Alisha and i think peps. Rule 3 I believe. That was some real good fun. I did ok. Played with the same people, as well as Diaz(Very good record), Crush and few others.
IVI is a darn good battler(he won a torny or two?) so I got developed tactics as time passed.
When it comes to anything PvP in nature, balance is key to having a game thats heavily based on skill. If a game is unbalanced then it becomes less skill based. Then certain players get there wins based on classes being more or less handicapped then others.
It's why I almost always rather play against a skilled opponent for the sake of a good challenge. So of my 100 games they were mostly against people who I knew were good battlers.
DC PSO battle mode was kinda wacked out for certain classes(ramar in anything but R1). Certain supposed "balancing" attempts made by ST backfired and made certain rules like rule 1 became totally unbalanced for higher level FOs since the limit on tech damage was set in, but weapon percents weren't toned down at all(which then lead to the Megid whoring FOs of R1), and there were quite a few exploitable bugs not fixed in the US ver(not really due to balance but it made joining random games a problem if people liked to exploit them).
Of course as I got better in battle mode I began to see these flaws. Iam very technical and have a sense of honor when it comes to PvP. So I really couldn't feel proud of owning a ranger in battle mode with my FO or taking on two people with one FO in R6 and still coming out the victor.
Alot of the flaws of PSO ver1 crept into ver2 battle mode. Like the Hunters being able to use practicaly all the guns the rangers could use in battle mode. A hunter with a handgun is far more lethal then a ranger with a handgun.
Hey, don't get me wrong. Depending on the class I choose I could kick some ass in battle mode. So this isn't some "man I suck at battle mode, so now iam gonna trash it" post.
Oh man, especially with my Fonewearl...jeez I had some tricks up my sleeves. Of course problems like decreased tech speed when bare fisted was quite a handicap in rules where weapons where rare, or I simply didn't have the atp/ata to equipe them(like R2). I mean being OUTCASTED by a bare fisted HUmar because of some class balancing errors on STs part can be quite sad.
If I wanted to gain free wins id create a FOnewman and just do R6.
If ANYONE has played against me in battle mode, you know I REFUSE to ABUSE megid. Why? Sense of honor and skill. Megid IMO defeats the purpose of a skill based battle, but due to class imbalance, FOs tend to use megid to put themseleves on equal footing with hunters. If I see a FO using megid IT AIN'T CHEAP in my eyes, it's something there class has and they use it. It's like complaining that HUcast gets trap vision. But using megid requires less skill, so I devised ways to win using my FOnewearl without being a megid whore. Granted I'll throw out a megid here and there to test my opponents EDK, but iam not gonna abuse. So I instead improvised and devised methods to compensate for my class handicaps in rules where most FOnewearl would avoid battling in if there looking for a win.
I consider myself a deadly FOnewearl battler, but in all seriousness other classes have the advantage over the FOnewearl depending on the Rule. Different rules tend to favor different classes. If you said "the hell with the rules" and went down to the forest to brawl you would need at least 75~80 edk to actually resist my megid most of the time, where as in rule 1 it's about 40~45 edk. The Ulti enemies in the forest are packing 70 edk and I can nail them with megid about 1 out of 5 trys. So if you've got 45 edk i'll plaster you on the floor 90% of time with megid in the forest, which is why the rules where desinged to try and mantain some balance...just not balanced enough.
Hell, even when I fight HUcasts in rule 1 I fight them the SAME WAY I fight a HUmar. Hucasts of course can't resta themselves or Shifta/deband. So I could easily take advantage of that by having them waste there mates by playing a game of hit and run with a mixture of long range melee and RA techs which go through walls and penetrate through other rooms. If I do that I will win everytime, but thats not fair. So I use the same tactic I use to fight humars. Why would I do this...cause iam not in it for a FREE win, I want to EARN the win...whats the point of a free win if it's not earned.
I don't take pride in hallow victories. So I don't go "Ooo, s/he has 200 wins, I wish I could do that". I know I can do that with ease...but Iam in it for the challenge.
To me theres no sense of victory in PvP if the victory is handicapped in my favor. So when I beat down that ranger I don't go "I r t00 1337 4 j00."
Likewise when I get beat down by a class that has an advantage over me in a certain rule I can't say..."Man I got owned, I suck so bad...even though I cast as slow as molasses when bare fisted, and they cast lightning fast when bare fisted"
So I stuck with my FOnewearl and tried to play as best as I could in rules where I was at a slight disadvantage(namely R2). Its why I did R2 so much...skills, not wins.
3 wins in a row with a RAmar in R2 is worth more then 10 wins in a row with a HUcast in R2.
If I was out to prove something I would play as a RAmar in battle and get 100 wins with only 20 losses. Granted that would be very difficult, unless I played against scrubs.
Now for the Battle mode memories...
A few days before my hunters lisense ran out I wanted to test my battling skills. I took everything about battlemode that was skill based(proper trap useage, proper tech useage, weapon swap before KO, setting up ambushes and what not) and I wanted to see how good I would do as a class with less negaitve handicaps then my FOnewearl when it cames to any rule.
So I played as my HUmar(well rounded in all the rules) and went around to random ships and blocks battling...Didn't lose a single round. Even schooled two 100+ win HUmar TWICE a row a fresh RAcast in R3. If I kept that up I could easily see myself with 200+ victories and very little losses. This was of course like by the time my FO was at an insane level(186 or so), so my battle mode skills were really quite honed. Ironically as I become a really good at battling I began to lose interest in it. I might of played a few rounds here and there, and only those where the odds where against me. I think by the time I would consider myself a power battler I might of played maybe 1 or two battle games the most with my usual battlers in a 2 week peroid. My last games where with IVI, dirge and with my HUmar in R2, and the last one was with my FOnewearl against IVI, Alisha(RaBot), and some else...I forgot who(in R3).
Really unleashed my FOnewearl POWA during my final battle.
Anyway afer this INSANELY long post, in closing I treat battle mode as a fun diversion nothing more.
When I want to play a game thats all about skillz I bust out Virtua Fighter 4.
In the mean time when GC PSO comes out I hope it's balanced better and not some rush job.

That's so lame, I've known people to go into rule 5(the rule where you keep your level and weapons, only have 1 life) with 180% native/machine weapons.
