Right now I'm living in australia, but I'll be moving back to the uk pretty soon. What I want to know is, if I buy a gc over here(much cheaper) will I be able to use it online back home? Anyone know for sure, or know a better place to ask?

Well, it depends on the region of the cube in austrialia. I'm not sure if the region is differant from austrialia to the UK. That won't affect whether or not you will be able to play online, but it will be will affect what games you can play on that gamecube...

The Austrailian GC is a PAL unit. I got the Austrailian version of 1080 Snowboarding and it worked on my UK PAL N64 with no problem.

Try ringing Nintendo of Europe and ask if you got a GC from Austrailia would it work with games in the UK?

Modem won't be a problem because all hardware is universal.
