Online on Xbox

once I get Xbox live, i can finally start playing this game. what i want to know is should i level up before getting my hunters liscense.

no... no matter how good you think you are offline... as soon as you go online you will be like "wow I suck". Oh and only play with the Japanese... They dont use hacks which ruin the game

I'm American and I play on the XBox, and I have never used a hack. Quit with the stereotyping. I'm sure there are Japanese players that use hacks too, or is it a national law that they can't.

Besides you would have to get on another server, and unless you spoke Japanese very well, you would have a very lonely time playing XBox live.

With my first character, I leveled up to around 100 before I started playing online.

I think the original poster has a valid concern.

When I first tried the online game, I was uncomfortable and made many, many mistakes as I tried to learn how to play the game. It's unfortunate that so many players are unforgiving and so quick to flame with "noob," "cheater," "hacker," and so forth to new players trying to figure this game out.

So when you get your HL, PM me and I'll be happy to help you out if I can. If you want someone to help walk you through some games and learn a bit about online play, I'll help you.

The key to having fun with your online experience is to get a good group of guys to learn from early on and learn what is considered to be acceptable play and what tends to annoy the hell out of the other players. Once you have that down, the rest will take care of itself.

Most important rule: Don't bother with Normal/Hard online. 99% of the players can OHKO anything there.

Fidel, do not listen to anyone's opinion on PSO-X unless they actually have PSO-X. Too many Cube only players are clueless about the Xbox version and offer info that only pertains to the Cube version. You can not play w/anyone outside your region. That means no Japanese and no European Ships.

Personally I think it all depends on the type of player you wanna play with and whether or not you want to have any area unlocked yourself or rely on other ppls to make games for ya. With my new main char I leveled him up offline cause the enemies are slower and have less hp. Plus at v. hard I have all the stages unlocked which comes in handy cause a lot of ppls hate havin to start on the 1st stage of Ep I or II.

When online you need to mix it up regular play w/the online quests, Battle mode, and especially CHALLENGE MODE! I live for Cmode. Any noob can walk through the game w/the best stuff but take that same kid and drop him in a Challenge mode. There you will see what you are made of.

All I play PSO for are C mode and tryin to reach lev 200. Practically every other part of the game has been ruined by havin all the extreme rares up for grabs and ppls who pull out the hacked stuff to get an edge in Battle Mode.
