This may or may not be news to the forum members here:
Humars will not be able to cast shifta and deband.
Only RAmars can equip the Spread Needle.
Those are two tidbits I've read about the new PSO title slated to release this year for the GameCube.
Anyone have knowledge of any other changes in character abilities ?

Shifta and deband stripped from humars?! That's not good, who uses it then?
Please don't tell me I'm going to have to *intentionally* make a close-quarter Ramar http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

who do you think uses it.

Hard to say, really...
I should *hope* Hunewearls, and any other non-Humar class... I personally don't see why it would be taken from Humars. Granted, they're ridiculously powerful as well-rounded everything characters, but wouldn't it make more sense to drastically lower their mind stat or TP than taking spells from them altogether?
Just my two cents worth. Keep the change.

I think it's great that HUmar has been stripped of Shifta, because in all honesty, seeing a HUmar Shifta and Deband his team really made me angry. See, there's this thing with HUmars. 90% of them are total idiots. So for every HUmar who uses Shifta responsibly, we have nine of them who intentionally overwrite L:30 Force Shifta with their own worthless L:15. I say, good riddance. It's about time SSJ Vegeta lost his Shifta.
Maybe now more people will use Mylla & Youlla, which, need I remind you, was superior to L:15 Shifta the whole freaking time.
Also, great news about the Spread Needle. Maybe now Sephiroth will actually use his katana.
--Also, here's hoping that HUnewearl retains Shifta. Just to spite HUmar, of course. ^_~

Hah! Had never thought of other players overwriting your high-level shifta with theirs, that would be annoying indeed. But, I'm still not entirely sure strict denial is the answer. Perhaps make their shifta/deband/resta only affect themself?
On the subject of the spread needle, I agree *almost* completely. Perhaps I misunderstand, but when you said Ramar only, did you mean just that, or gun users only? (RaMar, Raceasal, whatever new ones there are...)
The latter would make more sense, but good move either way. Always did find it a little silly that rare weapons were equippable by almost anyone. My Ramar used sinow daggers for ages. So long, I completely forgot I can't even *use* daggers http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Heh. Well, for self-inflicting Shifta, the HUmar can use Mylla&Youlla. It's really a wonderful Photon Blast, giving somewhere in the area of L:20-ish Shifta/Deband. Definitely a far cry better than a ten-damage Pilla, since let's face it, very few people keep their Mags properly synchronized. I know I don't. ^.^;;
Also, about the Spread Needle, yes. It should definitely be for firearm users instead of just RAmar. My experience in the field of Rangers is extremely limited, though, and sometimes I just refer to them all as RAmars or RAcasts. A-heh.
On the subject of class-specific weapons, I am VERY pleased that Rangers can use a Partisan now. It was not heavy weaponry by any means, and it really made no sense that a Ranger could carry a gigantic Baranz Launcher one second then turn around and be too weak to lift a pole. This revival of Rangers is actually quite interesting, adding a bit of fuel to my possible RAmarl fire...
--See, I was going to probably have a HUnewearl, on account of my passionate love affair with Partisans, but in light of this new information....

So do you guys think Forces will serve a bigger purpose now?

I can't imagine many people wanting to go without Reverser or Shifta/Deband. I'm almost positive that we will be seeing much more of FOmar and FOmarl than we're used to. I can't say as far as FOnewm and FOnewearl go, since if technique damage isn't altered a bit, they'll really be outclassed.
I can say this much, though. With everyone's favorite spells going Force-only, anyone who tells you Forces are underpowered will be lying through their teeth. I know that one of my characters will definitely be a Force.

I'm glad to hear forces will be more important. I've always been sick of the fact that magic users in most MMORPGs weren't always needed.

With the new information about Shifta/Deband, unless HUnewearl can have them, I'll take a Force over any other potential teammate. In my opinion, they've gone from 'incidental' to 'essential'. Especially with the new status of the Spread Needle. We won't have any power-tripping HUmars going crazy with their Spread Needles, stressing the importance of teamwork and support even moreso.
In fact, in somewhat of a complete reversal from V2, I would actually rather not see a bunch of Hunters on my team. In fact, two Forces, a Ranger and a Hunter seems to be ideal. I seriously question how well a team will do in Ultimate without a Force there.
--I, however, will be fine. Unlike most PSO players, I know the importance of Mylla&Youlla. So at least I'll be able to hold my own between times my team is blessed with a Force. A-heh. ^.^;

Hopefully being a newman, HUnewearls should get most if not all techs, since techs are supposed to be her strong point, and the joke of giving them more mst in v2 but the same level 15 techs didn't exactly show that. Neither did allowing them to use a few useless force weapons.
Either way i'm still going to be using a HUnewearl it just won't be my main character anymore that honour will go to my HUcaseal heh.
Now just 2 more long months till i get my import.
Well, it really doesn't affect me, since I didn't use Shifta & Deband at all anyway. I mean when I went online to play forces would cast it all the time and I wouldn't mind, but one less strong attack to kill a monster doesn't really matter to me...
I just hope i'm like the only HUmar on PSO now.

There's some info about droid traps? Or they are ultimate only like in ver2?

No S/D......*considering remaking Frost again*

In addition, some people claim that the FOmar is especially advantageous, given the fairly good combat abilities mixed with techniques. FOmars apparently start out with the lowest MST among forces.
BaronLaw
stripping HUmars of Shifta/Deband will greatly balance the classes, a droid had a hard time going solo even with their greater ATP, unless they could use Mylla Youlla, but sometimes it would take a long time to have their photon bar hit 100. This will definitely make teamwork more important, since we may need a force on our team just to have s/d, which would be awesome since Forces are definitely needed in ultimate.

Any attempt to balance out the classes is fine by me. Hopefully FOnewms and especially FOnewearls will have vastly improved tech damage to make up for their physical weakness (not to mention inability to use like 75% of the weapons), 'cause it's really annoying running around in a tiny room with tons of Arlans smacking you to the ground when you have to cast about 15 Rafoies to kill them. >_< (Okay, I guess this only really applies to offline solo mode... maybe I'm just whining, heh.)
My boyfriend, who's a RAmar player, was very very happy to hear about the Spread Needle.

I have a feeling that FOmar will basically be a HUnewearl stat-wise, but will be able to go up to Lv.30 techs. Now that is unbalanced, there is no incentive to play as HUnewearl anymore !!!

There gonna make a new char, he will be called the ARmar, archer. He will have 999 in every stat, and if someone comes in a game with him they will all yell out "GET OUT". Ive seen it, its amazing.

Forces can't use as many melee weapons as HUnters. And Hunters can use better ones.
And i think hunewearl will have more atp/ata than fomar.

999 in every stat? Not bad, but bery low atp and ATP matters a lot. And average MST, lower than FOs indeed

-heavenly light sorrounds him- Yes! Finally! Forces will have justice! heheheheheh Stupid HUmars lol Sure, there are some cool ones but everybody picks them cause they look "cool" and are super easy http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif lol They'd need to make 50 costumes just so they won't all look the same.

Yep yep, I'm glad HUmars went down a little. Since my second character will be a HUmar.. I'd love to have two challenging characters. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Of course my FOmar will be my highest character. Magic users are ALWAYS my favorite. It's just the mysteriousness of them that makes them so cool. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I so can't wait for this game.
GOOD.
HUmars have allways been panzies and now it's nice to see them battle other classes without needing to boost their own stats. Now theres no question that a HUcast can clobber a HUmar.

I've raised a Fonewearl up to level 21 and her techs are really starting to kick some ass in all the stages. Now that I've got her HP up to a level where she doesn't suffer from 1 hit kills, she easily beats my Ramarl at around the same level.
It remains to be seen whether Sonic Team have kept the balance right through all the difficulty settings (especially Ultimate, where forces suffered more than the other classes from unbalanced abilities - but things look a lot more promising for our magic using friends).

It si good to see these adjustments, trhough i never really liked ht ehumar class so them using s/d won't really have much affects, other than in offline mode, difficulty in boosting stats especially when doing ultimate.
My main characters will be hucaseals, so thankfully i wont have techs to worry about what i can or cannot use, i only hope the hucaseal has good base strength and defence as a droid, trap use on all difficulties would be better

Do you guys think that with the new balanced characters. That battle mode will be a lot more interesting and fun? I'm really looking forward to battle mode. Since you can fight it out with people your level as opposed to just standing around and watching the higher levels fight. Sounds like a lot of fun.

In ver.2 all rules except 1 change the levels of the combatants to the same level.

Someone had said earlier that they hope that HUnewearls have S/D well Ive heard from someone that HUnewearls can cast Shifta.
and theyre supposedly not able to do Reverser
There are also supposed to be some class & sex specific weapons. As well although many of you obviously know that now anyways.
all this sounds quite dandy but ill take a hucast any day:)i cant wait!
