I like things other then PSO...and one of them happens to be DBZ.
I know that the DBZ fans don't have the best of reputations. Often labeled zealots, rabid, immature, incomprehensible and flat out dumb. Not all DBZ fans are that way. Yes, most are real opinionated, but that's not the point for the post.
The point is that I am trying out an oldskool style of art. The French movement known as Art Nouveau. It was done a long time ago, like a little less then century or something. But it was cool. There were a bunch of guys who were famous for their new style ads, posters and drawings. Some of them were Alphonse Mucha and Aubery Beardsly.
Art Nouveau featured a lot of 'telltale signs' for its style. Some of them include:
-Frames around everything
-Really complicated designs
-It looks like it might be some kind of ad. Or not.
-Nakeds, or people draped in cloth. (yes, he isn't wearing any clothes, but that species tends not to)
-Organic looking stuff in the background or flowers
-Subject of the picture is vaguely pleased about something, and looking outward at the viewer, or focused on an object close at hand.
-They leave the outlines on the pictures! Sort of 'coloring book style', even the 'inlines' are left on.
-Things which go in "French Curves"
-Faded or pale colors
-Labels! Writing stuff onto the pictures was a good idea for them.

What's that gray stuff in the background? Part of the Big Ghetti Star, a large metallic conglomeration of space junk, with a brain.
I think this pic has most of the list of stuff covered. This was inspired by two things, a font, and the exoskeleton of his head and tail. I still have a problem with his eyes, in that he doesn't look that...alive or something, but people without eye-whites tend not to. I'm also wondering if it's complicated enough to serve the purpose. It was done in Painter, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Still, what do you think?
