I recently re-recovered the glorious Chrono Trigger on the SNES emulator, and im stuck.

How the HELL am i supposed to catch that darned rat in the future era? it keeps running too fast and when i am right next to it and press B to catch it, nothing happens. can someone give me some help?

Stand next to him, right before he moves. Next thing, you RUN like hell. You must have a good control in turns, it is very important not to hit a wall.

Jun 9, 2002, 10:26 AM
Yeah, just keep trying. You should be able to catch him fairly easily if you keep trying. I remember a couple of times the rat slowed down or got stuck, making catching him easy.

Make sure you're pressing the right button too. :P

Is that a good game? It looks pretty good. I keep forgetting that my PC can also play cool games on it. I also have this complex of not wanting to finish games, and then I end up with 10 unfinished games. >_<

Let's see... here's a list of games I've started but haven't finished.

Golden Sun
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis >_< (I keep forgetting I have this, and after all the time I spent looking for it, too!)
Resident Evil: Code Veronica

Dino Crisis
Shenmue II
FF7 O_o
Burning Rangers
Gungriffon
Phantasy Star 2
Shining Force

Some of the more common ones go for $5 out here, but most of them are around $15-20. The rarer ones can go for a lot more. I told a shop owner I was looking for a cheap copy of Earthbound, and he kind of exhaled and said, "If you want a game like that, you gotta pay the price."

Morrowind for the X-box is very kickass. I have a lvl 3 Argonian Warrior, saved up at lvl one and bought a full set of Steel armor, a steel halbard and sword, and kicked alot of ass. Sold plants for money(heh heh), raided a slave cave, then moved on to mining rare metals and running through ancient ruins for dwemar relics(still in the process of this, since the damn relics are so heavy). Oh, then I killed the guy I sold all my rare stuff to, got his entire store worth of items, all of my sold stuff back, and sold it all again, then I handed myself in, but they did'nt have any evidence so I only was charged 4 gold for killing the guy XD
(4 gold instead of a higher price and having all the stolen goods confiscated)

I say go get it, because I'm still only in the first two cities and it's kept me quite busy. I actually stayed up over 24 hours yesterday without realising it : But atleast now I have an online rpg for the night, and an offline rpg for the day.(action rpg rather)

..this thread had a topic?! OMG FUXORS!!

Actually, I have a question. When I played the rom of Chrono Trigger, when you get teleported and warped at first, when you walk through the forest, there are bright things on the ground. I could always get two of them, but there was one that as SOON as I got to it, three enemies would appear and it would be off the screen because of the fight, and it would return. What was it, and how in the hell do you get it??

oh, err, let me just clarify. Morrowind is an offline game, when I said an online game at night and an offline game for the day, I meant Ultima Online for online at night and Morrowind to fill in the gaps heeh. But actually, I'm glad Morrowind is an offline game, because if it were multiplayer, you'd either be getting killed constantly(you can kill anyone you want in the game as long as you're willing to take the repercussions...I know that's not spelt right), people would be stealing your kills, or right off your character(yes, you can pick pocket anyone if you're good enough). So, really, I'm glad it's offline. But no doubt you'll enjoy it.

I wish I could do that. I don't know... ever since I got the Dreamcast, I've had a hard time focusing on one game, 'cause I'd keep buying new ones. And now I'm just endlessly distracted with one thing or another. Bleh. One week I'm just gonna sit down and finish these games, one at a time. Or maybe just start over.

I never had the chance to go out and buy games like I do now, I'm kicking my own ass for not being able to get a copy of Guilty Gear X, because I'm a fighter fan : I can't even find any of the street fighter games around here, except for SFA3 which I bought upon release.

When I play RPG's, if I don't finish them, or I play them and then go away from them for afew days and forget the story bits, I'd rather play them over again, to get the full effect.

Yeah, he was quite savvy about it. Funny thing is, you'd never guess from his looks, because he looks and sounds like a ponytailed redneck. O_o But anyone who professes their love for Super Metroid is cool by me.
