Ok we all know that more people hate XBOX than they hate Gamecube, which means that people have more Gamecubes than XBOX's. Well when GC's PSO comes out, there will be more people who will try to hack in to the server or find ways to cheat than in hte XBOX's version! Yes! Finally a (temporary) relief from cheating! Sorry for all of you GC users though...

It also means less people to play with and hence less variety. Especially in Japan where the Xbox has a dismal following.
Also it'll probably have a shorter shelf life online.
And it still remains to be seen how cheating (no one hacks, they just input lines of code) will work on both Xbox and GC. Neither are imune, that's for sure.

Since ST have been quite burnt by online cheating, we can safely suppose they had couter-measures in mind for GC and X PSO.
This means it would be very surprising that anything like PK, CK, NOL, etc would still be technically feasible.
However, safe guarding against offline dupes and item creation is more difficult.
GC : GameShark announced for soon.
apparently, japanese PSO wouldnt have time to learn how to defeat it before its retail date of 8th august.
Maybe Us&Eu PSO would ?
Xbox : modchips are out that let you run anything on Xbox. (games, originals, mp3 and divx players are coming soon)
need to solder 30 threads, but simpler versions are announced.
So neither one will be left untouched.

There are also people saying. "OMG, THE GC IS GOING TO BE THE BEST VERSION EVER" My god! They're just making it on different systems! Not one will suck more than the other! They just did it because they want to bring PSO to the newest systems! So both Xbox and GC fans should shut their traps!

yeah, you fanboys ought to get off of this "xbox version is best" crap. Just to let you know, I own Xbox, GC, and PS2 (And the Dreamcast i'm using to access these boards, lol.) So that gives me free right to bash anyone who's a stupid fanboy.
Hey both versions are going to be good...each has its pros and cons....and since im bored ill run through them real quick..
XBOX Pros: For the first time we might actually get pso before japan..and we will have the leg up, there will probably be no extra fee to play online since xbox has its own network, graphics wise xbox may have an edge over GC (not much but some),Also for those old school pso dc players...the xbox controller resembles the dc controller best.
Xbox Cons: Xbox is selling great in the US but not to great else where...this could mean we will have a smaller community than the GC but thats still to be seen...,xbox=no keyboard...and for an RPG im not to sure if thats going to work...there will be to many voices and junk going on..but once again thats still to be seen, xbox version will most likely come out after the GC version.. not long after but after and for some that have little patients this could suck...
GC Pros: Coming out soon, will probably have a good variety of people from all over the world, will support keyboard..i think that is essential for pso, and it seems to be coming along quite nicely.
GC Cons: Probably a pay to play game, Nintendo still isnt out in the open with online ideas and that could affect pso, GC though a great system( i have all 3 next gen consoles) has more kid owners that teens-adults, so the immiturity level will probably be very high and frustrating in the GC PSO..GS has been announced for GC (though that doesnt mean there wont be cheating in Xbox but its probably going to be easier for the GC)
Thats all i can really think of but you can see that both GC and Xbox have good things and bad things about them. WE will all just have to wait to see how these 2 great games come out:)

Well, to start off, the X-Box is just easy to bash. It's not that people hate the X-Box (although, I've no doubt some do), but more that people hate Microsoft. They're known to use illegal business tactics, and gamers just don't want to see any of that.
The system is also one of the most hyped/advetertised (it has a $500 million ad budget) console, but at one point in Japan, the dead Dreamcast, and even the Wonderswan Color, was outselling the X-Box.
Personally, I don't like the X-Box cause I know it's not as good as advertised. Yes, all the games look great, and some, like Halo and DoA3, even play good. But, overall, it has a lot of crappy software and I don't see anything great for it in the near future (cept Project Ego)

It's just that your three points are moot and absoloutely pointless in my opinion. Power and capabilities are useless unless in the right hands, and if the Dreamcast was still around having games made for it actively today - I wouldn't care for any of the three current next-gen systems in their current state (yet the DC is the least powerful of the four). Bill Gates having all the money in the world doesn't gaurantee a good console nor does it gaurantee good games on it (and last I checked he isn't funding this thing out his own pocket, Microsoft is). Seeing as how PS2 has won this generation by a mile and it is now a race for second place (with MS in third), that dismisses your second statement. Your third point I could also care less about. All three companies are financially stable and last I checked Nintendo is the biggest maker and highest earner in the videogame software publishing market, not Microsoft (Nintendo has also recently posted record earnings for the last fiscal year). Nintendo are also taking the smallest hit financially on each console sold, where-as Microsoft are leaking money with being forced into price cuts months before it expected in places like Europe and Japan, where the price was slashed 4 weeks after the launch.
It's not that I have anything against the Xbox, it just lacks a game I personally deem worthy the price of entry. Whether or not it ever gets that killer-app in my eyes remains to be seen and my purchase is still unsure. If Microsoft had went to Sega and paid for exclusivity deals on the rest of the Phantasy Star/Phantasy Star Online games I'd have got the console on the launch of that game, no questions asked. Instead they went and opted for World Series Baseball as the exclusive they wanted to pay Sega for. A sport I have no interest in.

My beef with Xbox is that it has not one, but THREE things going against it's online community.
1: Broadband only...This is well and good in theory, but arrogant in execution as we are living in a predominately narrowband world. This alone would limit at least a few hundred users. Microsoft's belief in "narrowband has no future" has no basis nd is quite biased. If any company HAS proved this, it would BE SEGA for the success of their Sports 2k* series and PSO.
2:Xbox Live and his closed, first Party Servers means no inter console connectivity, because as current, GC and PS2 are leaving server maintenance and pricing up to third parties. This gives the developer the option to intertwine the servers on both systems. (with the exception of in-house developed games like SOCOM)
3:As Addressed before Xbox is selling quite poorly overseas, despite strenuous advetising campaigns. This, as it knocks userbase, simultaneously knocks the online userbase as well. I mean, let me go to the chart.THIS TRUELY DEPRESSES ME...THIS IS THE CHART OF CONSOLES THAT SOLD THE LEAST UNITS OF WEEK 2 OF MAY IN JAPAN.
PsOne...with 3,959 units sold
DreamCast(shelf clearance)...with 3,427 units sold
Xbox...with 2,179 units sold
I believe we know where the Japanese people's loyalty stands when an essently dead system outsells a next gen one. Japan is an important audience to catch though..
While I wouldn't go as far to say as "Xbox suxorz, and it's online situation is even worse!" Xbox has a few things going for it more, like marginaly better graphics, monetary backing, and the brand name, the boldness of it's online plan leaves the total package with a few dents in the form of cons in it's online plan and userbase.

I do have XBox and PS2...I don't have a GCN, not because I think it's crap, but because I simply has no money right now...but I am thinking of getting it sometime in the future for games like Zelda, VF Quests, Metroid, Star Fox, PSO, mario, etc...
I aint an XBox fan, what I am is a SEGA fan...I don't care what xbox/ps2/gcn games have, I buy one system with the most games I wanted to get...and Xbox is one of them...I bought PS2 when Sega wasn't a third party...So I bought the system not because of sega games....but games like FF, DMC, exclusive PS2 games...
But anyway, since I am not a GCN owner, I wanted the XBox ver as good as the GCN one. As much extras, I just simply can't afford to spent $300 on GCN, modem, keyboard, and the monthly fee just for one game...I look forward to the xbox one too cos of Xbox live, I don't need to pay monthly fee just for ONE game, althogh GCN ver will be cheaper a year than Xbox live, but I could play any Xbox live games with one single fee...so that interest me...
I doubt XBox version will have the best graphics, they probably will look the same...but to me, it is the best ver, not because it is on XBox and it must have best graphics, but because of the fact that with Xbox live I am pretty much sure I iwll be online for at least a year....and whenever I renew, I will definitely come back to PSO...but as for DC or GCN ver...I feel lazy just to renew my HL althogh it is cheap, very cheap indeed...but the process of renewing stuff is just troublesome...
But anyway there are some XBox owners who like to say xbox games has best graphics and stuff....but not all of them...there are some xbox haters who told people off before they even say anything cos they hate xbox too much....I think this people need to shut the hell up...I don't believe any of the system is good, if they don't have the games, they are utter crap...but up to this point, each and everyone of them has their own "must have" games...it is not about who is #1, or who is #3...for consumers, I believe we need not care...I don't care...I will get any system I want just for the games I want to play and of course I won't buy any system which I know I have nothing to get...but then again money is also the problem...even though I think GCN is great, it is the only system I don't own right now just because of money...

If you actually think that X-Box has a bright future, than you're not seeing things as they are. Most likely, X-Box will be the the Saturn of this generation. You think a console that's doing well would cut its sales price by 33% when it hasn't even been out a year? The only reason the X-Box won't die like the Dreamcast, is because MS has enough money to keep it on life support.
Oh yeah, questioning Nintendo's future?-Pure idiocy. No one out there makes better/top selling games than Nintendo. They are the only console maker that can support itself by 1st & 2nd party titles. It's almost a sure thing that when the year's up, Nintendo will dominate top 10 best selling games of the year, as they frequently do. Simply put, the Holidays season belongs to Nintendo.

hey team...what happens after GC releases all there top games this year? huh? what happened? can someone say Nintendo 64? yeah we will get an awesome mario,metroid, and zelda then have to wait 4 or 5 year with bunch of piece of shit spin offs till the next TRUE sequal as nintendo calls it comes out and GC has like 10 3rd party developers...they cant just depend on their first party games..and as for xbox cutting prices and doing bad in japan...dont forget that gc cut their price to a pitifull 150 and it came out after the xbox(only 3 days but still after) and xbox sells poorly over in japan as GC sells poorly in america during their launch...and if we are on this topic about most sales...the PS2 after being out well over a year is STILL out selling both systems! ah nevermind...i have all three systems and the one that has let me down the most so far is the GC...i mean i love the little bugger but i still dont think its fair to bash xbox...and when you come to think about it all 3 companies have bad qualities..so i think we should take what we can get and end it there...

IMO you're all full of shit...The ultimate video game system is GBA http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif. With probably a damn million titles(with it's backward compatability), 45% of which are high quality in gameplay. It is undoubtedly my favorite game machine. Just about every major Franchise has made appearances on the console.

My take? I don't like the X-box. Why? The titles it has right now, and future titles to be released, are *not* of the genre I prefer. I will be getting a PS2. Then, a gamecube, and not an X-box.
Point? They're all good systems! People that don't like the X-box are probably role-playing gamers, such as myself. And, coincidentally enough, seeing as this is a website devoted to a ROLE-PLAYING GAME, I'd have to say that most of the people here would probably agree. Halo's a great game if you're into that sort of thing, and yes, the X-box *does* look marginally better than any other system out there right now, but raw processing power, doesn't equal suppremacy.

I may be going off topic and all but I just have to say this. The thing that people HATE or DON'T LIKE is something quite interesting. When the Dreamcast came out, you'd see a lot of fans buying it and the rest waiting for Playstation 2. At that point, the excuse was better graphics. That's the only thing people would justify the "greatness" of the PS2. Suddenlly the GC and Xbox come out and it's now not a matter of graphics, right when the tables are turned you see excuses like "It has better games" Which is partly true, I know PS2 has a wide variety but after seeing what the GC and Xbox can do, how can you not like it more? It's a matter of preferences I know but sometimes people confuse their preffereces with facts. Some PS2 fans say Grad Turismo 3 is the best graphically looking game out there. I just can't comprehend why some say this. After seeing RE, and Halo plus other games, don't you think that's a bit far off? Now to GC and Xbox. Now the ones that agree with me on the first part won't like this one. Some people that don't like PS2 suddenlly see the GC as their only hope and send the Xbox pretty much to hell lol. Hey Mag_Launcher, I also have the three systems. I'd have to say that I'm not really a Fanboy of either Xbox or GC. I just think that it's ok that the people who like either one get excited. They're not being fanboys. Now, fanboys is person that said "The people that get Xbox version are the people who hanged around in Oberon". There's your prime example lol. I'm ok if you scold when they exagerate about it being the best but they're just asking and celebrating, no need to get so mad...
