View Full Version : RAmar vs. Ultimate mode/Ultimate mode 1:RAmar 0

Argh!maybe this deserves to be in "rants" but Ultimate is pretty a pretty unbalanced fight for a RAmar.

I'm currently level 100 with some average 45-50% weapons and made it through Forest with ease, but then the difficulty spiked upwards for the Caves.

In version 1 I had to be around level 70 or so with a RAmar to have good weapons and enough hp and stats to cut it alone on Very Hard. Does this mean I have to be near 140 to make it out of the Caves?

I know they don't call it Ultimate for nothing and RAmar is the weakest overall character class, but how far along do I have to be to do good damage with weapons? rather than doing very little damage with magic in Caves.

No, at level 140 the caves shouldn't be very difficult at all.

Try to find a Red Handgun in the Forest with at least some bonus percentage towards altered beasts. Increase the bonus to +90. Remember to cast S&D and Zalure on the enemies.

Assuming that your character is legitimate, you should be able to very slowly make your way through the caves at your level. This will require considerable running and ducking and numerous trips to Pioneer 2 to restock. It can be done, however.

My RAmar was roughly level 110 before I actually defeated the Cave Boss.

As far as what level the Caves become merely moderately challenging ?

Somewhere between levels 120-130 for a RAmar (assuming legitimate items).

Before I retired from PSO V2, I had my RAmar at level 141. It was my favorite character and principal choice of class during my entire PSO experience (V1 and V2). The RAmar's advantages become more apparent as one increases in level.

Ah, RAmars rule, I first was in Ult forest at 80(go figure) I had a simple Red Handgun+6, I did semi-ok damage, I made it thorugh alone at like 91.

When I got to caves I was 99 and had that Yasminkov that looked like a giant luger. Yea, I didnt fare to well in there. lol

A level 100 Humar will miss like hell on Ultimate while a level 100 RAmar will maybe hit two in a row or more. There, that's an advantage. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ramar has more atp than any force and more ata than any hunter. Don't think the other 2 rangers do a lot better, and going alone RAmar maybe is best ranger

I reached to Ruins on Ultimate Mode myself in offline mode with my HUmar around lv 100. It was rough as hell!

I'm inclined to agree with the people saying less than 100..

My Cbringer rifle went through the ultimate forest without *too* much trouble, found my red gun, kicked the forest's *ass* at level 81. I am now level 93, and just beat the Del rae li, or whatever http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

And no, this isn't some super red handgun with awesome stats and max grind... In fact, it's +23 and -5% against machines and dark http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Incidentally, I can't even *scratch* the guys in the mines. Oh well, back to Vulmer huntin'.

Yeah RAmar is better in ATA than FOrces and HUnters and has TP advantages over the RAbots. Go RAmars indeed!
Oh yeah I do damage in the Mines with a 45%Laser but it takes many hits to bring 'em down. As it should be? Right? :/
