View Full Version : is this normal?
as probably most of you know, I game offline on my dreamcast. but here's where it gets wierd-- I, offline, have had a couple of run-ins with a FSOD or three. I thought those only happened online. so is this normal?

your dreamcast fsods or resets?
i dunno what you can do about the fsods, prolly cleaning lense would be the best option. after that, if your disk is really scratched, try to get it fixed.
the resets require you to open the cast and clean the contacts of the power supply (just undust it, reassemble and youre done)
anyway good luck on that one and actually this doesnt belong to this forum but to technical support.

My brothers Dreamcast reset alot while he was playing PSO offline, so we ended up put disc cases ontop on the lid, it worked VERY well for a few weeks, the we had to turn it upsidedown for it to work again, it worked for a few days...so we put crap ontop of it. Well it kept reseting, so he took it outside and said im gonna fix it...
*I wish we had taken picutres of it after he smashed it.*
He ended up buying a new dreamcast, so, its happened to other people my friend. you can always smash your dreamcast...
When your dc starts to reset and fsod while online that just means, basically, your dc is just getting old. when it started to happen to me i just retired my dc.

O_o When my DC stopped reading game discs, I just mailed it to Sega and they sent me a brand new one for free. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

FSOD is when a game crashes, and happens with any game system. You can "FSOD" your NES by opening the cartridge door and pressing down slightly on the game. I got "FSOD" on GTA3 on Xbox, and gotten a few on TimeSplitters2 on GameCube.
It's a technical error with the system's processor.
ok, thanx all! even though my DC has too many good games to be smashed as such, I'll see what I can do (within reason, of course *glares at TheOneHero*) but thanx al the same, eh?
