He is level 29 and he uses a repeater and my mag is level 200 but it is spread out to like 54 in power, 47 in defense, and like in the 40s for the others. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do? Or is this how RAmars are at this level?? Thanks

RAmars just suck in general. But, once you level up and so, you'll do find (offline). Online, it's probably the worst class.

If you play a lot offline, you picked the right class.

Well by what you say suck, is he not doing the job as well as you want him to, problems of surviving with just the foot enemies, boss problems or what? Just keep searching for decent weapons to take to the techs and look every now and then at the wep store. Build levels because Ramars start out with fairly one of the weakest atp stats but later on they can be decent fighters.

I too made the bad call of picking a RaMar as my first character, I found that having multiple mags, each highly specilized to one purpose helps a lot. I've 3.

1) Bhirava
35 defense
45 power
95 dexterity
20 mind

2) Soniti (orginally a kama)
54 defense
135 power
10 dexterity
1 magic
3) Asparas
34 defense
1 power
4 dexterity
161 magic

Alright, alright, the Asparas was made to read disks http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif But, I do use it in combat on lower difficulties (lower than ultimate, that is.)

Hey! Stop picking on RAmars! My first character was a RAmar, and he got to level 86 before his file got corrupted. he was good, too! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I think any of the chars can be good if used right... Just get a good wep and mag, as was said above. The easiest thing to do would be ask someone for some better stuff. (If you can go online) Though playing with only your own stuff is kind of fun. Ok, I'll shut up. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I personally don't think that any class is better than the other. It's just that we have different preferences. Our preferences will lead us to favor a certain character class over the other. Every character class is fun, just as long as you put effort into it. It is true that RAmars are low in power, hit points, and magic. However this is why they are considered to be an intermediate character. My first and fourth character were RAmars. It's my personal favorite class. In order to make for the RAmars low power, just keep Shifta and Deband on at all times. Evan though the RAmar has low TP, you have more than enough to keep Shifta and Deband on. You'll be able to heal yourself as well and use some techs here and there. You just can't use heavy tech usage. For an RAmar I would raise a high power and magic mag. There really is no point in raising the dexterity on the mag because the RAmar already has high accuracy. Importantly, like all of the other rangers, it is critical for RAmars to keep their distances from the enemy. Time your hits in right and then run. Find a current safe area and repeat the process. Running and shooting makes the game more exciting. If you are still board with the RAmar just experiment with their different weapons. Shots are a good weapon to learn how to use right. Yes, they are slow, but their multiple targeting and range, make up for it. In order to get better at the shot, know how many shots you can get away with, before the enemy gets to close. Using different combinations of combos will help more, than just doing a triple hard attack combo. Triggering three hard attacks takes to long, and gives the closing in enemy more time to get to you. Use different combos to slow the enemy down and then finish it off with the hard attacks. Evan though normal attacks are weak, they are much faster than hard attacks, and still deal damage. Normal attacks are good for slowing down the enemy, and allowing you to finish it off with harder attacks. I would advice only using a pure hard attack combo, if the enemy is distant, or if you know you can kill off the monster before it comes. To sum this all up, keep Shifta and Deband on, raise a high power & magic mag, use the exciting technique of shoot and run, experiment with different weapons, and trigger time efficient combos. Well I think thats it.

Ok, I'm getting a little sick and tired of the "RAmars suck." thing. They DO NOT suck, I use one normally.

If I wasn't banned from online, I would show you just how 'bad' he was by kicking your ass in battle. Now, in Episode 1&2, I expect to reach S-rank in challenge mode with my RAmar (all my characters, actually.), with the help of fellow players, whether you f***ing like it or not.

OK, I always used RAmars, my first char, my last char, my fav char.

They key to them is to always use rifles, and always use hard attack. Trust me, rifles are the best guns. If you play ver1, get your hands on a C-Bringers rifle, they rock, best rifle in ver1.

RAmars do not suck people, at all.

My old RAmar's favorite job was using Spread Needle and killing everything before the Hunters and Forces on EXP runs. >:)

From my observations and experiences, all rangers are pretty weak (strength-wise).

The accuracy doesn't help an awful lot at certain points in the game (but in ultimate... that's a whole different story), and a saber is more accurate than a handgun (in the beginning of the game) and does more damage.

I enjoy and have an easier time using a RaCast. They have nice weapons, and contrary to popular belief, they do GOOD offline. They have a combination of good power and accuracy.

That's just a stupid ass statement. RAngers are just too weak and do not belong in battle mode; anyone who's familiar with battle mode would know that.

Hehe, I remember playing Battle Mode with a high level RAmar. He'd die in one hit, almost every time. Started calling him Mr. Delicate RAmar. Hell, even the other FOnewearl in the same game would take damage better than him, and she was lower level. >.>

It depends on what modes you like to play. The majority obviously level up, so RAmar is good for that, well solo leveling anyway.

For battle however...well everyone knows how weak RAmar is compared to the other classes...

C mode is the same. RAmar truly sucks in C mode.

This is just based on the DC versions of PSO.
People need to remember that there are now different stats for each class.

I personally just don't like rangers at all...they're too 'average'. Hunters are overpowered and forces are weak as hell http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif
Playing them is much more fun for me.

Uhh... yeah, it takes alot of skill to hide behind Hunters and peck away at enemies doing little damage, if even hitting them. And it takes even more skill to run away when an enemy gets anywhere near you.

PSO as a game in general doesn't take much skill to play and master....
It's a really, really easy game...

EDIT: I realised I missed a word, which made the my statement have no sense at all.

When it comes to battle RAmars have it bad.

As for watas response, a FOnewearl actually gets higher dfp and evp increases in battle mode then a HUcast(VERY slight), so shes gonna take less damage then a RAmar by far. Of course her HP is so low a HUcast is always wayyyy more durable.

Heh, Offline ramars are pretty good... online bots are imo better due to the fact that rangers have lower atp then hunters. A Bot ranger is favored for there higher atp. Rangers are supposed to snipe from afar, but as you become stronger hunters can take out enemies in one 3 hit combo, so the need of a "sniper" isn't as heafty unless they can take stuff out in one combo...lower atp combined with techs that are out done my a FO means if you don't have decent percent guns people won't favor a ramar(the games really easy in your higher levels so noone actually cares so long as theres a FO in the group).

Even online RAmars aren't that bad if you've got the right gear, although if your legit and don't have the right sect ID red guns will be your best friend as a RA...which is just sad.

If you have a FO with level 30 techs the game is a breeze(not for the FO, but for everyone else). Really don't matter what class you choose, but in general its the Bots which outshine the ramar online because of atp and traps being mare valuable since a FO is already present for techs.

heh in online mode droid rangers are better hunters than humar and hunewearl. ATA counts a lot. Doing HHH combos with no miss helps a lot.
Even RAmar does better than HUnewearl as hunter. Difference is rangers can't use some hunter weps.
I always like to use my rangers as hunter they can combo better with the higher ata

I do pretty well in battle mode with my ramar.

Forces are nats compared to me. With my specially selected equipment, I have high resistance to all tech types.

I got blasted with lvl 30 Grants one time and only took like 10hp damage. XD

I think that Ramars are ok, my Ramar, Red Harvest, does pretty good, even before he got given cheat weapons...
(I didn't make them! I got given them!)

But from what I've seen, Fonewearl is just about the worst for anything!
She's financially frustrating, may have high Defence but feth-all HP, and the average Ramar has more muscle in his eye-lid than she has in her whole body!

In C-mode, they're just too fragile, and utterly worthless until they get resta.

But when you work as a team in C-mode or regular gaming, Ramars can fit in quite well, standing back and picking off targets and providing covering fire for the Humars as they charge in...
