A lot of you may think that you have the "worst computer in the world", but you'd change your mind if you used mine. So how bad is "bad"? Let's see...

- Crashes when it opens MS Paint
- Dead A-drive
- 22GB HD... 2 GB of that are two corrupt RO clients that I cannot delete.
- Windows ME (this automatically makes it worse than any other non-ME Computer)
- Power button only turns computer on: You have to unplug it to turn it off
- Hasn't shut down properly in over a year
- Average of 6 crashes per day
- Record number of crashes in one day: 17
- 64 MB RAM; Acts like it's on 8MB RAM
- Overheats any CD put into it if left alone for over 30 minutes
- Said overheating once melted a CD Label
- Crashes when a .mid file is played
- Randomly unistalls the Folder Compression System
- 4 minutes to reboot
- Broken Java plug-in, can't repair unless using Firefox
- Fun with the start bar: Once you get BSOD, it disappears
- Start Button likes to turn different shades of white and black... unclickable in that state
- Randomly crashes when running Spybot
- Randomly crashes when Wordpad is run
- Randomly crashes for no reason
- Randomly freezes for no reason
- Randomly exits IE, then crashes SYSTRAY
- Scandisk dosen't work
- Defragger dosen't work
- Randomly activates System Restore

Yeah... So once I get some money, i'm taking this box of horse feces into the shop. Meh...

i know how to fix that comp...

what you do is take it to the nearest vacant lot, make sure you have a sledge hammer.

now, place the computer in the vacant lot.

take that sledge hammer and hit the computer.

repeat until you feel better.

Fastest solution:

Format C: /q
Format (inser hard drive letter here): /q

Untill you delete any hard drive unit in your comp. Reinstall everything from 0.
Fixed.

To hard shut down your computer, simply press the power button and hold it there for several seconds. Be thankful for that foolproof setup. Never will pesky little brothers ever shut down your comp again since only YOU will know how!

Yes, I agree that it is time to go format crazy.

Then hit it with a sledgehammer.

You must have a different idea to top of the line to everyone else, since a top of the line graphics card will cost you around $500 just for that.

By top of the line, I meant a Pentium 4 with a DVD rom and all that stuff.

I think i'll give 'er a good old Formatting some time this week, and upgrade my OS.

But i'll probably mess up badly http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif And end up buying a brand new comp

With 64 MB of RAM, you cant even install Windows XP. And I have my doubts about Windows 2000. So, probably the best choice for you would be to get Windows 98 SE.

I'm gonna try formatting today. So if i'm suddenly missing for a couple of days, you'll know I messed up.

Let's give it a try...

I think Ness meant "top of the line" as in... anything better then what he currently has. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Last time I "built" a computer setup (without monitor), I only spent about 500-550 USD.

and here is what I put in it. this was like, 2002, and i'm still using the same one

ASUS motherboard (ATX . 5 pci, 1 agp, 3 DDR slots up to 3 GB of memory and capable of 333FSB cpu).
AMD xp1800 (1.53 ghz cpu)
512MB of kingston memory.
NVIDIA Geforce4 ti4200 with 128MB memory
30gb HD
52x Cd burner
DVD drive not burner.

around 550 to be more exact. that included Microsoft intellimouse explorer version 3 and a jet black simple IBM keyboard.

I have added other things since... such as a 300$ Sound card (8 in 8 out, XLR, smpte, wordclock and midi), and a fairly nice sounding logitech speaker setup.

The motherboard has onboard NIC, onboard audio (5.1).
