Too big of signatures, dammit!

For sigs.

I've noticed like 6 people with too big of sigs recently... and it is so stupid that they don't comprehend the rules.

Max sig size: 35000 bytes/600x180 pixels or approx. 5 lines of text.
OK... let me put it this way. Have a nifty, somewhat long animation that you find really funny that you want to put in your signature? Well, give up because it is most likely too damn big unless it consists of two frames of animation.

People, you know who you are. Respect the forum rules, unless you want your signature privilages taken away.

I agree, but I find it amusing that you got the sig limits wrong.

But at the same time, it draws you away from more pressing things, such as keeping the site updated. Not to hijack the thread about that... if jackass posters (instaban/delete 30 threads with cheats in 'em) and other jerks stopped posting on this forum, you'd have a heck of a lot more time to do other things on this site.

Its not hard to make a sig that fits it tells you the size, width and height. If you use picture viewer that is.

I saw a PHP addition that allowed you to auto-calculate the size of avatars and sigs, and remove automatically ones that were too big. It does slow down browsing sometimes, and since this site crashes quite enough i'd say we wouldn't use it.

Yeah, lots of sigs suck. I really hate it when someone will just put a picture of a car or something in their sig. Unless their screen name is something like "ima_supra," having a random picture of a car in your sig makes no sense. Aren't sigs supposed to identify/represent the poster in some way?

Oh well. At least my sig's not too big and it's not a Supra.
