BB = Online
Online = No Pipe Trick
Therefore BB = No Pipe Trick

Hmm, actually that's a good question. But I would imagine that they implemented the same online data for the offline mode to keep things simple.

I wouldnt call it offline quest you know. Its more like "Single Mode". I refer the two modes as Multi Mode and Single mode evidently getting rid of the confusion of online and offline mode.
No matter what it is online because the data for experience and item drops depend on the server thus not client side at all.

Well, I hope your theories are true, but the game action still seems to happen on the users computer.

For example, the damage taken/given by players. The server seems to only relay what a user damages to another. That would explain why sometimes you see an enemy being damaged without seeing the player attacking him or seeing him attacking from far away.

Also, the enemies seem to reset when you play in ichihito mode. Just try splitting a blue slime and pipe back to P2. The slime will never die, and you'll always be able to resplit the slime as much times as you want.

I'm just theorizing from what I've seen while playing... It wouldn't mean they didn't fix piping in itself. I guess the best way to find out would be to check the packets going in/out of your PC and see what data is sent/recv.

Well one thing for sure that I know is that Item drops and Experience is dependent on the server. Try this. go into a game and start fighting monsters. Then unplug your network cable or something to disable your internet.
Two things you will notice.
1)Items will not drop anymore. Monsters won't drop anything.
2)Experience earned from killing monsters or assist killing monsters will not go towards your needed experience to the next level.

I went through FIY a bunch of times til i ran into a blue rappy. (didn't take too many runs) Telepiped, and it was still blue. Telepiped again, still blue. And for good measure, telepiped a third time, still blue. So there you go.

Yeah that is good news. It was always a real bummer when you died at the hands of a rare enemy then it dissapeared when you went back.

If what you say happened in ichihito (single player) mode, then I think it's a solid indication that the piping trick don't work on BB http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

the kanji 'ichi' and 'hito' should be read 'hitori' which means 'alone, on its own'. ^_^

Off Topic: Kunyomi & Onyomi = one of the many useful things I've learned about Japanese in my holiday just passed. (I've never done anything more worthwhile on holiday >.>) Don't compound words use the Onyomi for each seperate kanji? It's just, ICHI is the onyomi for '1' >_> How confusing...!

On Topic: I'm really glad they made the game server-side. Piping is such an easy method of finding rares, it would spoil the game for sure because everyone would just be locking their games and piping! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Easy way to find rares?! I piped for over 120 Mil Lillies on GC PSO and not one dropped a Psycho Wand. I actually liked the pipe trick, since it made some insanely hard items possibly attainable, but only if you put in the work required to get them.
