So everybody..gimme ur view. If you bought PSO EP3...why? Prefered battle system? Checking it out? Just to make fun of the yu-gi-oh stylish battle system? Well come on! Tell me!..my reason was just to see the end of the PSO legacy...or is it the end..dun dun..DUN!

Bought it originally because I was led to believe a number of things about it, mostly that it was supposed to be fun. Well, I played it offline and online for a while, understanding almost the entire time that this is about the worst game I've ever played. I'm comparing the suckiness of this game to the crap that was ET the Extra Terrestrial for the Atari, which singlehandedly almost destryed home gaming until the NES was released.

I got it because i really liked PSO and i wanted to see what happened in the story. I wasnt gonna let a thing like change in gameplay stop me from getting a game from i license i enjoy. Sure, its not what i expected, but its different, ill give ST credit for that.

I bought it on the basis that Phantasy Star games are normally excellent. I was wrong in this case and it's now resting on the shelves of GameStation [God bless]

I got it cause it was different, its PSO, and interesting. Also, I know I have 1+2 whenever I'm tired of that gameplay. Now I have Ep3 when I'm tired of 1+2's gameplay. See, it works.

For a few reasons: 1) Almost all the cards are PSO 1+2 items or enemys, and I knew alot about PSO to begin with, and 2) because I love card games (MTG being my favorite). I play it every now and then, when I get bored with Ep 1+2, butI hope to be getting onlin soon (again).

I bought it to see the final chapter of PSO, to see how everything turns out.

Plus it's Phantasy Star...how can you go wrong there?

I bought it because it was Phantay Star.

I kept it because of the story (the single darkest storyline since Phantasy Star II, IMO).

'Nuff said.

I bought it for the hell of it to see if it was any good, and sorely wish I hadn't. Seriously, I have never had less fun playing any game than I did Ep3. The offline story mode was intolerably dull and REQUIRED walkthroughs to get half the fucking story, and online I either wound up bashing coms with a friend who has long since quit or playing other people and ending up against fucking machine decks with a lowbie Ino'lis tech deck and of course losing. -_- And the competitiveness makes it reek too much of Ep1&2 Battle mode, which is the one mode of PSO I cannot stand. Some people think it's awesome, but I don't. I think it could have been decent or even good if they hadn't rushed it, but they did rush it and it was very, very bad. The battle system needed work, the graphics were static and somehow worse than Ep1&2's, and lobby FSODing was not cute at all. On the other hand, the music was good in spots, and some things about it I did actually like. It just wasn't the kind of game I can make myself like. Let's put it this way... I came to Ep1&2 with a bad attitude towards it and had to be forcibly removed from the GC hours later. I came to Ep3 with hope for it being good, and was bored after the first battle offline. >_>;

Plus, my eyesight is bad, and the pallette of Ep3 is very muted and grey, and it makes things hard to see. -_-;

The story isn't bad, but some of it retroactively fucks up Ep1&2's storyline, and outside of Endu and vaguely Relmitos, there's just about zero ties with Ep1&2. No resolutions, no explanations of anything, Ep1&2 might as well not have happened. That... Bugs me. Not to mention that the manga-style cutscenes basically made it impossible for them to expand the story in any meaningful way, they just can't DO the story quests like they could on Ep1&2. >_>;

Er, this has turned rather rambling. I dunno why I even replied, heh. Clicked the Ep3 forum by mistake. XP

Like everyone else I bought it because it's PSO. I still want to play it a bit more for the bit of plot it has, but I can't get myself to do it.

PSU had better be more than this. =(
One platform, balanced game, no cheating, and a bit of plot please.

I bought it because I wanted to see how it's like. I'm glad I did, it's a really good game if you stick with it.

Because I was sick and tired of FFXI. And the PSO series has never let me down, so I bought the third episode.

I bought it because it was more game content for my Hunter's License. And it may sound weird but since I got Episode 3 I play more Episode 1&2 too.
Like someone said, when you are bored of ep3 go to ep1&2 and when had enough ep1&2 go have some card games in ep3.
This way also looks like ST does more updates heh.
I never saw Episode 3 as an alternative or rival of Episode 1&2. Is more like a complement to expand PSO Gamecube possibilities.

Well it gives me a pleasant change. A game focused on "player versus player" rather than "player team versus easily outwitted AI monsters".

Plus there isn't much cheating as far as I can see, and thats terrific. ^_^ I'm just as strong as anyone in Vega (card battle-wise).

Another pretty cool thing is that someone can be tons of levels higher and you can still beat them if you have a better deck. Once I was Clevel 3 and beat someone who was Clevel 87!

And when I'm tired of playing a strategic card game, I can just go back to good old episode 1 and 2 since theyre on the same HL and blast bartles with RAfoie.

What a lovely way to end the story of the Ragol hunters. =) I loved offline story mode! If you keep track by doing all the side quests as well as finding the hidden cut scenes, it really develops a great story with intresting conflicts among characters.

And Orland does have some connection to episode 1 and 2, I believe. Wasn't he the one who mentioned...(minor spoilers ahead!)

*coughcoughzokecoughcough*

I think it was Orland who mentioned it... correct me if I'm wrong ^_^;;

And by the way, the music is terrific too! I like the Tower, Via tubus, the theme for the first boss, and the theme for the final boss.

Gah! I can't understand how people don't like this game! I prefer it to Episode 1&2 because it is relaxing, & the battle system is great, the system in 1&2 is not exactly perfect & 3 wipes the floor with it, yes its a different style but it is just a better system over all.

What would be good would be a cross between 1&2 system & the 3 system, it would work like 1&2, but everything was sort of cardy, & you could use creature cards, imagine, a chaos sorceror blasting seven layers of hell out of anything near you.

Because I'll be a PSO fan until I die, and being a Yugioh fan as well only strengthens my love for Ep. 3.

To finish the story.

Which I still have yet to do, I haven't played ep3 seriously since about a week after it came out. -_-

I guess I was the same. I loved the Phantasy Star games on the Genesis and I loved PSO. I bought PSO Epiosode 3 on the strength of the previous games and I especially wnted to see how Episode 3 would further the PSO storyline.

I bought the game about 2 weeks ago, I put it in my Gamecude once ( just to try it out ) and now it just sits on my shelf and it will probably sit on that shelf forever. It's not that I think Episode 3 is awfull ( I did not play it long enough to like or dislike it ), it's just that up untill now Tales of Symphonia took priorty over it. Now that I have finished that game I will move on to Metroid Prime 2. When I am done with that Metal Gear 3, Devil May Cry 3 and Grand Turismo 4 will all be out over here by then.

Episode 3 doesn't deliver the type of gameplay that you just crave ( which ironically is PSO Episode 1 & 2's strong point, it's addictive like crack, easy to pick up, hard to put down ), it strikes me as the type of game that takes a while to get into and satisfaction does not come immediatly. As such it will always take a backseat to all other games. There will always be another game around the corner that I will want to play more then Episode 3.

Um... I dunno. I guess I got it because it was different from PSO, yet it still had it's name. I read a few reviews, but I never listen to them anyway. Basically, I just got it because I really like PSO.

Things I liked about the game:
-- I like Sil'fer because she's cute and not because she is... big breasted. She's a HUnewearl, well so is Rufina but I've seen her 'good side' poor girl... needs to date Orland.

-- Some of the music is pretty good. "Idola - Strange Fruits", "Tower of Caelum", & "Raevum Sacra Aedum" (I know I'm spelling these wrong).

-- The art is pretty good on help me draw my Episode I & II comic (for instance like the weapons and monsters), and now I'm planning to make an Episode III comic, but I do not agree to the ending. (Needs more violence and a happier ending, sorta.)

-- I was intrigued with the Phantasy IV type cutscenes, and the character art is done nicely. Need an illustration book for this game.

-- JUKEBOX. Dumb ass lobby music.

-----

Things I don't like about the game:
-- Dice hate me. If you can pull 6's sometimes when you want to pull a 6 point item, then yay. But there are days where you roll 1's and 2's straight, and there isn't much you can do sometimes. (Well, wish you can discard multiple cards in Baiten Kaitos.)

-- Computer ally AI are sometimes dumb. (Reiz you moron in 'Morgue Attack'.) Everyone else is decent.

-- Cheap decks. Oh how I would love to tear the COM AI apart where I just keep losing like crazy offline. I would never like to do it online.

-- Need more quests. They need to make more player 2 vs COM quests. Of course that quest against the two Leukon Knights was difficult. Saw some ppl beat it easily with just certain cards and dice roll. (Someone suggested an idea of both Pollux and Castor, that would be hard. o.o)

Only reason I bought EP3 was because I thought it'd be good, like EP1/2. Having played it, it isnt too bad, but I prefer the hack/slash style of Ep1/2, rather than beating my opponent up with cards >_<

I ordered it last week because I've wanted to try it ever since it was released it's now so cheap that I couldn't pass on it any longer. It's Phantasy Star and therefore ensured to please me on at least some level. I'm looking forward to going through the story, but I'm not sure I'll take it online for any reason but to download quests. I'm actually very excited to get it.

I also bought it for the connection to PSO Ep. I&II. I have PS II on my PC but I haven't got into that yet. I also have the Ep. III mem card that came w/the five Ep. III cards, which are very nice by the way. I finally picked Metroid Prime back up and have had a lot of fun w/that lately. When I get stuck again in Prime I'll get a little further along in PSO Ep. III.

I bought EP3 because I generally like card-based games. Dunno why, but I just do. From the moment I started playing it, the game was awesome. My only complaint is that there seem to be very few links to Episodes 1&2, and that the computer opponents aren't very intelligent.
