Do you know what the phrase "red-tape" means? I'm not sure how to describe it really, but basically means like a whole lot of inconveniences and crap that you need to fufill before being able to do something.

An example of this would be the government. Before a great idea can be implemented, it has to go through A, then B, back to A, back to B, then to C and D. If D refuses it, to goes to X, then Y, and then Z then back to A to repeat the process over again.

Wading through red-tape means going through the endless process that could be simplified.

Don't worry though, ear piercings are much safer, unless improperly cared for... then the results could easily spread into a brain infection. But that would be very unlikely. Otherwise ear piercings are probably the safest and easiest cared for piercings.
