Fan-Works!

You have yet to drag me down!

But I have a question for you all, did you all start posting in FKL at the beggining? Or did your interests in pso degrade to the point where things became dull so you migrated to spam?

Its become apparent to me, that many topics made in many categories on psow are created in a vain attempt to either grasp attention or to try to create long lasting threads that strengthen the section of the site.

With the increasing number that flock to FKL in search of a illusional salvation from boredom, other parts of the forum are eroding away. Such as fan-works. I'm not too sure about the other places, but to me, it appears that people are hiding in spam, waiting for the forums to refresh when pso-u rolls around.

Dunno, perhaps its the defensive mechanism of psow. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Fan Works is dying because everyone ran out of creative energy. Such a jaded bunch of writers and piccilators.

I migrated! Started in off-topic, and came here when one of the threads I was posting in got moved!

Eventually I started having un posting here, and now it's a good way to relieve stress and let out my inner-fruit. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I lub FKL a lil' too much, methinks. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Sigh..

I too, am falling. PSO just isn't really doing much fore me right now. I've stopped playing, don't know when I'll stop writing about it though.. you have a lot more freedom when writing if you know all the back alleyways ^_^

Not true..

And it is what you make of it. It takes some determination to finish up projects such as fictions, and even more so if you get little to no replies. Few make it through, and I pity those who don't..

For me, I actually started off in both FKL and fan-works, but then became more involved in the going ons of the works.. Only untill recently have I bothered to post in here, and once again, it has sucked me in. I believe for a time, I too was most active in fkl, and here I am after redeeming myself..

Oh, and I'm most active in MQISID. I was around when all the kids came on saying "How do I make the racoon mag?" right when PSO GC was hot. So, I'd race Lolita and Vulpes to post the link to the guides. I won a lot of the time, hence the large number of posts. And I also spend lots of time in Off Topic, General, and recently in FKHell.

I have my doubts..

Not sure If I'll even stay around to watch the up and coming, grow up. After all that fan works has gone through, and what I've experienced of it, little enjoyment can be found from n00bs.

Origionality, Ingenuity, something that Is greatly lacking http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

They've got a lot of nothing to say, and most of the time the vets are disregarded, bad habits are formed, and structure of stories collaspe..

Its a sad, sad sight, and its something I've seen to often of late. Unless more people are willing to try, and to respond/post comments and crits frequently, fan-fictions are dead.

As for Fan-Art, I believe the artists will become tired of hearing the same responses from the same peopel, and will fade away. Its a simple, yet efficient path to hell.

As for new peoples starting fan-art/fic/poem/ we have a few, but not enough. Fan-works is dying, off-topic and rants where never really alive, mainly because in the randomness of such threads little groups of users never formed. These groups may become larger, and provide reason for users to come back to the areas of a forum.

FKL has/had such large/small groups, but are shrivelling away. Fanworks had many people united during times of the greater arts and liturature, but now is under a depression..

So futures seam bleak, maybe, just maybe if we can still hold some bonds and last it through till a new wave of fresh, and hopefully talented/interesting blood..

etc.

How is FKL addictive?

Rarely do I actually respond to most topics because they are either much too dull for my liking, or just beyond the point of idiocy.

Thanks for being so optimistic. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, I'm quite confident in my own ability. When I get rolling, I can write some rocking fiction. I'm not a 12-year-old PSO addict who wants to write something, I'm a writer who happens to be addicted to PSO. Unfortunately, I haven't written too much fiction lately and I'm probably going to need some work to get back in the swing of things, but I'm still optimistic. Maybe it can be contagious, and people will stick around longer.
