Need help on making a VCD

Really need some technical help on this one by someone who knows how. I need to know how to make a VCD from two DivX;-).avi's. I think I've got to change them into .mpeg's somehow, join them together then make it to VCD. So how would I change it to .mpeg (if I have too), join them then put them to VCD? What the hell would I use to do it too?
