View Full Version : They Grow Dumber in Ult

I finally got around to get a new DC and play v2 offline for practice before GC. I finally get to ult mines 1&2. The first thing I noticed is how dumb and non-hyped the Gilchichs are compared to their counterparts in vhard. The vhard ones shot like crazy rangers on a rampage while the ones in ult just float slowly and take 200 off you when they finally get there (give me a break, I'm only lv 103 w/o online support). The ones in ult get stuck on a corridor while I bust them with a red saber (with an awful 15 mines). Almost all of them get stuck by the edge, except for those mechanical canabinal canabines. Geez, the ones in vhard were actually smarter. These guys in ult just got tougher and dumber. (Damn you sinow red, you won't be laughing when I get a Soma!!!)

Any thoughts on ult enemies getting dumber? (note that I haven't gotten to ult ruins while I'm 104 now with a HUmar)

The AI is the same for all modes...

The Delsaber don't seem to be dumber in ult to me. It uses the shield faster and better than in vhard.

err Delsaber??? (shivers run down spine)

I still need to get to that pillar in mines and hit it.

Most of the AI stayed the same except for Nano Dragon and Gilchich, nano retaliates in the air now, and gilchichs don't shoot as often in my case.

I still need to get to ruins to truly experience everything,
Da Ral Lie was easy,
sil got fast as hell,
and is Vol Opt ver2 a joke?

Actually, Nano Dragons can retaliate in the air in any difficulty. It's happened to me! >_X I think you have to hit it while it's moving from one spot to another (not up or down) and have its HP rather low for it to do so, however.

Heh heh heh, Nano Dragons saved my life before. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif It's actually trying to beam at me, but instead it beams at other enemies in front of me! Dumbasses.

Oh, that's my little error, I remembered another time in hard mode where the dragon did the same thing, except I hit it just at it's peak, than, near landing, it shot at me.

Oh, those of you wondering, yes, I made it all the way offline in v2 to 104,

6 red handguns, only 2 of which have good percents ( 0 5 0 30) ( the other is just a measely 15 native)
2 red sabers ( 0 0 15 0 5) (25 45 0 25 )
1 red dagger ( 25 5 0 5 )
1 summit moon ( 40 0 0 0 ) (damn myself for being a HUmar, won't be able to use it)

(heads for the nearest transporter to ult F1)

I'm fairly certain the AI in Ultimate is the same as any other difficulty, but there *is* one difference...

Size increase. It's far easier to get enemies to turn around and walk away from you because of hitting another one in front of it in Ultimate than Vhard. Could this be what's happening with the Gillchichs? More accurately that question is: Can they shoot through other enemies? I know Dark/Death gunners can't.

They can shoot through enemies.

Letting nano dragons kill enemies is a really bad idea, since it increases their strength.

Ultimate mode enemies are definetely tougher. Crimson Assasins freeze you, Sinows are armored and don't react much to your attacks, Dark Bringers don't have a blind spot, Sorcerers use grants, etc.

The new Belras can't hurt the other ruins critters, and they fire FAAAAAST! I got to the ruins with my lv. 111 HUmar (all offline because I can't get online)

Yeah, I finally got to ruins at 105 (hurrah, level up and ruins).

Here's my first impression as most others are alike:

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT (speaking to the Arlan, Merlan, Indi Belra, and Gee L/R)?

I mean, recently I did find a 30 dark red handgun, but HUmar's accuracy seems so weak that it takes me 3-4 series of strings just to kill them (sd and jz casted too).

All in all they soldiers walk quicker, at least they look like they do. They look cooler and a little freakier. Indi Belra should just be called Psycho Belra. The first time he fired at me, I got right in between both his claws so he missed. I though it was kind of easy. But when I got into a room with both arlans and belras, things got crazy. It took me 5 minutes to clear that room of 2 arlans and a belra. I had to go back in everytime he hit me. Gran Sorcerer is kind of easy, except for that wicked lv60 resta.

And I haven't even gotten to a Del-D nor a D-bringer. Delsabers are as dumb as they were. Claws are like lv40 people facing vhard claws. Only I get 1/6 hp taken from me.

Overall, I kind of got the same treatment I would have gotten in ult Mines. I felt like a RA: used my red handgun, (cast the quad spells) then used simple-hard-hard attacks. It's not like they can take 700 away from me in one hit, but they do about 250 a hit (hp at 998 with god hp).

It doesn't feel hard yet. It just takes long.

I'm whitilll, and I keep on finding summit moons in mines, and although someone 9 months earlier probably posted this, what is with it? where can I find a guide for v2 for weapons I can find in specific IDs?

This (http://people.freenet.de/PSO-Times/PSOweb/frames/rarechart.html) is the best rares chat I've seen...

Until you find yourself red dagger or imperial pick, you'll be playing like a RAnger for a long time.

If you read above, I did find a pair of red daggers, 25 5 0 5 , but I'm still weak therefore, even with strategy, it is difficult to manage my HUmar with a pair of Red Daggers in Mines and Ruins.

All I have maxed is my luck, ata, and mst.

Update, I beat ult in one try. I only died to the following but got revived by my scape dolls:

Belra Cannon x 1
DF's Aura shots x 1

I didn't die to anything else in Ruins.

As for caves, that's a different story.

I beat ult at 106 for the record with god/hp and dragon/hp

Dark Falz's attacks were just upgraded/changed.

I will admit that message was somewhat of a showoff.

But everyone around me kept on saying DF is the hardest and etc., but in fact, he really wasn't. Like Phalanx said, they were just upgraded.

Besides, most of the enemies kept their patterns-- in fact, all of them except belra.

Memory sucks when you're facing a D-Bringer, you can't enter its close range blind spot anymore.

That's why I said I got to lv 108(now) offline. The only way I could play PSO was to purchase a used DC. Apparently, someone already went online with PSO on this DC. That equals no online play but practice, practice, and more practice for GC.

Yep. Dark Falz online is just one crazy mofo. Actually, disregard the fixed HP slash of DF III, and there's only one other obsticle left- The Dark Falz II drain-thingy. THAT'S what'll kill you 9 times outta 10 if you get to Dark Falz with enough HP (1290).

Otherwise, the only enemy with a complete change was... nothing. Seriously though, nothing changed except a few attack patterns and textures.
