Lately I have noticed alot of young authors just giving up on their works. And it's really starting to piss me off. A lot of the young authors that give up have a lot of talent but just quit. Here's two of the most commong reasons I have seen:

People don't reply *if the work is a fan fic*.

or

They can't take negative feed back when they allow people to read; their short stories or books.

I was talking to one of friends the other day, who is a very talented writer and I think could go the distance if he just continued. After awhile he said he was going to stop for the latter reason that I posted.

I told him that I had also quit writing my series of books because of the same reason, and that I later tought, "Who gives a shit what they think?" I told him that and also said I continued on with my writing.

He said he just didn't want to bother with it anymore and didn't change his mind. My reply was, "It's nice to see that you are quiting too."

My rant is really for all the people that give up when they have great potentional. If God gave you a gift/talent....USE IT!

It really pisses me off when people just let their talents/gifts go to waste. The end.

I stopped writing because like most things I do, something more interesting comes along and then I just keep forgetting it. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I know, I'm sad...

When you get negative comments, you really have to look and see why and try to improve on what you got that comment for.

I know there was a really disapointing chapter in 'Do Hucasts 3', and people pointed this out to me. I read over the chapter and found the problem (i think it ended up being a chapter where pretty much nothing happened and i actually skipped over a chunk of it with a rather quick sentence) and kept this in mind when i was writing the rest of the Fic.

I know it feels bad when you do get a negative comment, but in the end it may end up being constructive criticism, and you can learn from your mistakes there.

I myself haven't stoppped writing in general, but put a halt to PSO fan-fics.

Fan Fics were making me lazy. Actually creating my own world, to me, is much more exciting.
