1. Where are we going to meet in GCN PSO?
Well, when the day comes, where are we going to go? The first ship and block will most likely be the most populated, but then it will be hard to get in (unless the choice search trick still works). Do we wanna "use the last ship" or "the second from last ship and first block"? =?_?=. I guess the site could have a poll after we see which US ships there are, but that could take about a week after it's released. I'd like a common meeting place for all the bishes on release day =n_n=.

2. Trade hacks?
In Diablo II there's a trade systemm sort of like what GCN PSO might have. Cheaters have scammed people in the past in a few different ways.
a. Both people set items in the windows to trade. The victim thinks the trade is a good deal and is willing to confirm the trade. At the last moment, the con-artist swaps their item with that of similar looks, but worse value.
b. Hacked program: Two people set up a trade, but the victim doesn't receive an item in the trade.

Anyways, the trade thing might be good for people to mule items and not risk "drop and disconnects". I wouldn't want to, however, use it with random people for trading =>_<=.

3. Risking four characters at a time online.
Gee, if the single save file holds four characters, what happens if one character gets corrupted, such as when the power goes out while quit-saving or even auto-saving? I wouldn't like risking all those characters at the same time online =;_;=. We'll see what horror stories pop up in general, eh? =3.

Hmmm.... the poll sounds like a good idea. But for now, it's too early to tell.

Myself, I don't like to trade with random people period. Most of them are going to rip you off the first chance they get. So the easy fix is to trade with people you know and trust.

Never even thought about that...

That would really, really, really suck. With that in mind I will probably buy a couple more memory cards and keep one character per card.

That's just it. You shouldn't have to trust people to do an item trade...

Agreed, you really gonna waste your time in the item trade window when you can just drop and pick up with people you know and trust?

1) I hope the same ship names are up, so then I can just goto my normal ship/block/lobby as said before in a similar thread.

2) (read above)

3) Eh, I hope that doesn't ever happen to me, I've yet to acctually LOSE a character in any way/shape/form, except when I had to give the DC and PSO back to my friend long ago when I had Final.

besides battle, actually trading one item for another is something i rarely do...
i'm more like giving my pso-mates for free, when i have something twice (right now i am a mat- and grinder-collector ^_^)...

I'll make use of the item transfer when I mule rare items to other characters. If I were to lag out while dropping an item, I could end up dropping it and not be able to pick it back up. Since I would be lagged, the person that was supposed to hold it would not see it drop. Then the item would be lost forever =>_<=;

I don't usually trade, in fact, I only traded once in v1. That's only because I found 2 Flowen's Shield, that and the fact I only had 1 FLowen's Frame.

The next thing you know, we're gonna have our own Signature Way to know we're PSOWs when we're trading, alike the movie Undercover Brother and their system for checking authenticity of Brotherhood.

Eh eh!?

Do you know the secret handshake that takes 30seconds long?

I dont think it will be like Diablo II, i think it will be more like EQ or DAOC. You out in your money/items and he does too, you see what he puts down and he sees what you put down. Then, if one of you clicks Save, and the other changes the trade before he clicks trade, then the first persons trade is unclicked... get it?
So if someone Asswipe changes the trade at the last second all trade is stoped and you must both click trade again. It is really safe if it is done this way, also if you do happen to DC while in a trade window like this ( which i have on DAOC) your items are still in your inventry becuase you havent trades them yet, you were just showing what you have on the trade table, not actually puting it on the table. i hope this clears it up IF they do it like this, if not then yeah somone could get screwed

More rambling, nyao!
Fresh start for guild cards, and imposters!

In the Dreamcast version of PSO, lots of random persons had my card, and I had lots of random persons' cards. Well, some of those people were, uhhh, "bad apples" =-_-=. What made that worse was that I had no way to prevent them from following me, nor could I stop them from sending me mail =x_x=.
With the release of GCN PSO, everyone gets a fresh start with his/her/its guild card. Maybe it's a good time to be more fickle with whom you send your card to. It's probably okay to accept lots of cards, but I don't think I'll be sending cards to people I don't know, anymore =^-^=. The new start leads to a slight problem though; imposters.

Imposters trying to get guild cards in order to harass others came to my mind quickly. Would you want some lamer HUmar with purple hair and disgustingly BIG NOSE getting your card while claiming to be watashiwa, only to end up spamming you silly with rants about X-box? How about them joining your open games to harass you, forcing you to password everything like in Dreamcast PSO? Nah =^-^=.
To prevent this I devised a simple password system with people I trust with neko love (awww). For example, I'll be hooking up with neko easily, since she has a prominant pso-world account. All I have to do is tell her in a private message our secret password for when we meet, so that it'll be okay to send guild cards. I also got contact information from friends on the DC version that wanted to be sure to meet the right TSFO-SnAPPLE =^-^=.

"Be trendy like SnAPPLE, because being trendy is cool!" *thumbs up!*

Wheee, I just wasted your time reading this! =^_^=.

i reckon the trade system will be more advanced than that, where it uploads the data, but not the item, so you can see all the stats and everything, before handing over the items. Because then you will each know exactly what your trading, and also have the chance to decline. and when hacking comes, why would you be trading with a hacker, they would probably develop a code to keep their item, but theres a code to stop other peeps picking items off the floor so its an easy steal on v2, so it would still be an improvement.

Although I would love the old ship names, it would be cool to have a ship called Uranis if the planet themed ships remain. I garuntee that ship called Uranis would be the most popular ship.

If they have the old ship names i'll just go to my old hang out and only let my friends (snapple, and so on) know where i go.

i'll go into open games alot until cheating starts (if it starts) just because that'll be fun.
and pants, glorious pants.
anyways, im not even going to really try to have all that much fun with the game until snapple and i are REALLY high level (pwr lvlin with teh neko ^_^)

You won't have to use the trade feature to Xfer SnAPPLE.. do it offline.. splitscreen remember. I saw that the banks now hold 200 items instead of the 60 we're used to. Online xfers that big would be uuuugly.

The new trade system, I will use it manically until codes start getting used. It would be rare to lose something to last minute swaps imo, why waste the freedom we've finally been waiting for? After a few months it could just be gone again.

The only thing I don't like about the trade feature is that physical trading, that is, items on the ground, will probably be seen as something to exploit more than it is now. Shame...

Wah, the rare system sucks, I never find anything good, so I'll just cheat, because Sega sucks!

In a game like Diablo II on the battle.net realms, you almost always know where enemy items drop, since the client is often synchronized with the server. This is different in PSO (online), however, since items don't always seem to appear where the mosnter was seen killed.

I'm guessing this is because the item only drops where the host sees the monster's position--the host being the one who has been in the team for the longest amount of time. Alththough that's just a theory of how things work, it's nevertheless correct to assume that sometimes items may drop away from the downed mosnter. This means not only are some rares hard to find, but some may be left behind due to individuals (mew, have to be politically correct when it comes to humans, newmans, and androids...) not looking carefully enough for them.

Well, the players and monster positions don't synchronize too much in PSO, since it gives the game a less laggy and more smooth experience (Hey, I can say this--this is neko rambling, mrawr).

So uhhh... scan your sector!

But what if huh, let say a HUcast tries to get his hands on a rare weapon (the only one he really wants in this game) but learn that this weapon is banned and that it is virtually impossible to find it in the game. Now how do I, hmm, I mean, the hucast http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif solve the problem? Go see a hacker? I don't think so, since that would mean no use of playing with it online and since I dought that the Hucast will want to even enter offline mode then, there is no way to have the specific weapon ... unless of course ST unbans the weapon and make a quest to get it or something, I dunno -_-

I think you make a good point on how people should be more cynical on how they're giving their Guild cards away to. Because once someone gets it, there's no going back. I used to give my card away as a knee-jerk reaction if someone gave me theirs, but now I'm going to be more wary of the situation.

I remember someone from an EU block I met (French, I think) had my card and every night I went onto PSO V2 (he was V1) I'd be in Challenge mode from 10.30AM > 3.00AM onwards, and he'd always mail me every 10 minutes asking when I finished (or stupid things like could I explain Challenge mode and what it was while in the middle of C6). I even explained to him that I was going through my Challenge mode fad, but he mailed me all the time while I was on V2 (this was before V2 was out in Europe, so I'd somewhat obtained Rockstar status). But it did get kind of annoying.

Wah, the rare system sucks, I never find anything good, so I'll just cheat, because Sega sucks!
Sounds like someone who used to post here...

Mmph, BWS-1, you shouldn't even know the existence of any such banned item =p_p=. Guess that's a problem caused by cheaters in an online envirnment, in which they cause item envy =;.;=

Actually, in the old days (and that means back in the first months of ver1) I could go online this very site and see a list of items that were found. Even tho later we have found out that most of them were hacked, at least for a short period of time, I could use that list as a good tool to find certain items, since even hacked items there, were findable in the game without cheating! ... and when ver2 came, I did the same, well, I think I could see a list of all the weapons before I could even buy ver2. And when I saw that , awesome-looking, totally-what-I-wanted-the-orotiagito-to-be kind of weapon, I had to buy ver2 to start looking for it! But then, again later, lot's of items on the list had those lil red writtings saying that they were BANNED added on the side of there name ... that was new, since it was the first time I'd check an item list since , well, the begining of ver1. Then I read that they'd most certainly get unban with time and ready to be found in the game or by doing quests. O the exitement! So I armed myself with patience and waited ... and waited ... and hey, guess what I did? I WAITED! -_-

Only now, the Tsumikiri J-sword is still, and will probably always remain, a ban item. *sigh

*sob sob, kills the time polishing his orotiagito sob sob sob ... T_T
