Ok maybe there were more people who didn't understand "Spam Forum Rules" then I initially thought.

It's all in the emphasis.

See, the original Spam Forum Rules were the rules of the Spam Forum. Then later on I just had an idea pop in my head to try for a play on it, and had my own "Spam Forum Rules", the catch was in the emphasis. With mine, it meant it more like a verb or command, like "spam this thread with the forum rules".

Then for some unknown reason there were a ton of threads attempting who knows what and doing none of it... and none of them seemed to truly understand...

Although I think there was one that went with Spam Forum Rules as in the spam forum is awesome... whether that was intentionally recognizing what I intended, I do not know...

Improper spam opening results in 2000 deaths per year. Try to be a little more sensitive on the matter.

Rule 3 is ESPECIALLY important in a room that you may or may not share with a roommate.

Actually, the product was originally packaged and sold as "Spiced Ham". The inspiration for the product was Hormel's surplus of meat from pig shoulders that they couldn't do anything with. Hormel soon needed a less generic name for the product, and as such, they had a contest within the company to name it. One of the executive's wives came up with "SPAM" based on the name, "Spiced Ham", and that was the name that was chosen.

The product was then popularized during World War II, when the US Army bought it in large quantities. On a tangent, those large quantities of SPAM purchased by the US Army were responsible for keeping Russian troops fed, when the Russian food supply became short. When the soldiers came home from the war, they found it in supermarkets, and purchased it for their families. Thus, SPAM became popular.

Plus, if you look at the generic versions of SPAM (That scares me, by the way), they're still labeled as "Spiced Ham". I'm supposing that the "Spiced" part refers to the salt, sugar and preservatives that are added to it.
