oh dear god, what ever have i done to deserve this?! a homework assignment that would normally take 30 min is taking a few hours because of all the vocabulary i must catch up on. argh!!!

sitting here trying to complete my japanese homework normally is a joy, but now it's so taxing. there's complex verb structures, oodles of vocabulary, finding the right idiom, but retaining the right politeness level, etc... oh the strain...

can't we do something simple and fun like memorizing 40+ different kanji, kun and on meanings, and their idiomatic special words? oh wait, that's my other homework assignment. yay!

nihongo no bunpoo to tango wa omoshirokunai tte?
shinpaishinaide kudasai! totemo tanoshikute kantan narimashoo! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif uso? honto? ... uso, zenbu uso. tetsudatte onegaishimasu! aaaarrrrggghhh!

Just do it. You know you want to. :/
By the time you catch up it'll probably take only the time it was supposed to take.

/me agrees on annoying Japanese Homework
Although if you threw 40 kanji at me and asked me to memorize them as homework, I'd laugh at you. I'm horrible at Kanji, and pick most of it up through reading and rereading.

Your furigana is weird. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif ^_^

I can read stuff very well. Especially Kanji. But if you want me to transcribe it then it is teh hell for teh navi. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

All I can say is: Ganbatte! One day you will look back at this and say "Whoa, I am glad I did those stuff"

That stuff! THAT stuff nav. I'm just funning with you though.

@Arislan, I feel your pain, Kanji is kind of a hassle

But yes, after you're finished and done with your class, and are pretty fleuent, you'll be happy you did this.

*has trouble speaking the language let alone doing homework...*

Learning a new language is always tough. Gets tougher when we are older x_x

ah, better now, but now i received more work (naturally). and it's the toughest stuff yet... listening comprehension! {shudder} listening to native speakers rattle off paragraphs in one breath is going to be the death of me yet.

ps: my old class stopped several chapters behind where this new transfer class left off. so i jumped into this new class 4 chapters behind. otherwise the class under (which was full, blasted munchkins waiting all night for early registration!!) would have had me 8 chapters ahead. it was a trade off.

and my furigana is so weird 'cause i never really write in furigana. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif teachers i had never even really bothered teaching it. kinda just sound it out and add speaces for the english user. lord knows the language is challenging enough http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif don't wanna scare away any potential students ;D what are the traditional rules anyway? do you write 'bunpoo' as in the sound or 'bunpou' as in the hiragana (u being just a sound placeholder that's smaller than o)?
