Hmm, one of the disadvantages of having computer-illiterate parents. My mom's like that, but my dad teaches computer classes, so he knows what he's doing.

delete all shortcuts and erase it from the start menu, when you want to use whatever, open up My Computer > C: blablabla
oh and make sure you set hidden attributes
and tools > folder options > View > don't show hidden junk
