Oh right I didnt know hackers not being able to find rares was one of the updates. I already got that one in the XBOX version. Helps you know if you are playing with the right people.

The only hacked items that stops rares is Mags above level 200 (1304/1308). The game can't detect simple dupes or hacks (even hacks with hidden %s {such as 127 or 300} I'm pretty sure).

But it does disable the common dupe mehtod (though you can still go back to regular PSO to do that).

So let me get this striaghtyou con't dupe anymore correct? Thats good. Now what if you duped on the old version? And then transhper back? Doesn't that defeat the whole dupe correcting thing in its tracks? I eman if you can still go back, what to point of correcting it at all? I've also hear they have the old version on the same disc? Man I here a lot of rumors.

I got mine reserved this past sunday. I'm just waiting for "the call" from Game Stop so I ca go pick up my copy tomorrow.

Yeah the mags above L200, and support items in quantities above 10 (like having 72 trimates on you) are both identified as hacks and prevent you finding rares. If you accidentally pick up something that a hacker has dropped, you need to get rid of it then FSOD your game in order to be back to normal and have a chance of finding red boxes.

EDIT: Oooh was that my 100th post? I only signed up 25 days ago. I should post less.

So I lets say I have duped before but none of that other things (I play offline) will I find rare items.

And while I'm on the topic of rare items, I got PSO for a few reasons but I want to know if I can get S ranks off line now with PSO Plus.

Asura_UK

Its ok if you have traded with other people but arent sure if the things they gave to you were dupes or not. If it looks the same as the ones you can find it is ok.

Even if weapons have high percentages it wont ruin your game. I think it tricks the game into thinking the weapon has 100% on the same attribute 3 times. You can legally max at 300%, but it all shouldnt be on the same thing if you want to be legit.

You can't dupe in this version (using the common way). I don't know why they even bothered to correct it, but they did.
The dupe on the old then transfer back does work though. This does not help stop duping for probably 75% of the people that are going to get this version (I will get this on the way home from school tomarrow). I

Yes, duping and having dupes does nothing for rare drops. The only thing that effect rares is stacking (on any version even the current one I believe), and Mags above level 200.

No, you get the same type of S-Ranks as the current version gets (with the exception of the Episode 2 A and B rank prizes, those are Blue and Green Rings instead of the God Shields).

No. There are 4 God Shields. 2 offline (A and B Ranks) and 2 online (A and B Ranks); all are for Episode 1, Episode 2 gets the Rings and class/job Fields.

PSOGC will never be completely safe from corruption. Taking out the Double Save just lowers the risk of it, since each save gives another chance for corruption (I would like to see the bank and shop saves removed too though, those are the most annoying >.<).

If your disk is in good condition, and you stay away from crowded blocks, then you can take out some other risks for ?SOD/-X.

Not normal S-Ranks.

They only get the "toy" S-Ranks. They get items such as the Crazy Tune and Samba Maracas.

The only thing I saw about downloading was downloadable Mini-Games, not real quests.

Not for Gamecube. You dont download quests.

Xbox has the Central Fire Swirl quest to download to your hard disk. Shame they dont let you download Seat of the Heart, East Tower, and West Tower. Then they Xbox version would be up to date like the PSO Plus on GC.

GC has downloadable quests. 3 of them. Its just that they aren't for Episode 1&2 (Game Informer, and the two story related ones; all are for Episode 3).

Each quest only takes up about 3 blocks (they are only the scripts, since everything else is on the disk), so there is no problem with the room on the memory cards (and Baru had said before there was no problem with the game disk being able to download them). Sega just hasn't bothered to put those quests up for download for some odd reason (make us dish out $30 to buy PSO+?).

If they did allow the download for XBox, they should charge $30, to make it fair for the GC players.

Wait, if there are no downloadable quests for ep 1&2, then how do you upgrade your weapons. I thought I read somewhere that you can partake in two online quests to add like giest to s-rank weapons, and to add like 5% native to a weapon that is not s-rank.

Also, they need to make it a little more fair for the offline players. We don't get any real benifit for going through C-mode. It's not fair. None of those weapons are useful. Now an s-rank, that is a lot cooler, since you can grind it and make it really powerful. And with the ability to either restore tp, or add giest to a weapon, that just makes it even better.

But the little things that they are putting into PSO+ are not enough to make me dish out $50 just to get something I have been playing for what... two years now? Give or take.

When it drops in price I might buy it, but not right now.

I doubt they'd add Gallon's Shop, because it's constantly being updated, what with the roulette, and the music disks, and so on.

And STILL I'm astounded by the numbers of people playing the game in offline only. What does the O stand for again?

You upgrade your weapons at Gallon's Shop (which is not in the JP version, so it is doubtful the US would get it). The quests that you have to do to unlock the ability to do that are on the disk though (Towers).

PSO+ is only $30.

If they did add Gallon's Shop (doubtful), they may have it so that it isn't updated, or you can download the updates.

This is supposed to be an online game; but does have a great offline mode too, especially if you have friends who play.

I suppose we can all guess and rant and rave over this game, but nobody will know EXACTLY what it has until today. So just hold your horses before we all get upset about how it doesn't contain Gallon's Shop, etc.

1 question, on psow, if someone makes a topic on pso plus... how will people know its plus? Is there going to be a new topic label? Or a whole new section like what they did with episode III???

PSO+ is nothing new, so nothing will change.

I would still like to know if it's + or not...
Example: someone says "I need help on West Tower Q" or something like that, some people would assume they play online and would say something like "meat me online" or something. Or tell them something that you can only do online... Yeah, anyways. I would just like some way of distinquishing + from original. Atleast a new topic label saying like PSO+... how hard could that possibly be??

Are we talking about the same label? I don't mean a new topic section deticated to PSO+ alone, I mean a little label on the thingy when you creat a topic on a thread and it says TOPIC LABEL and you put something like MAG or DC or something... Is that really hard to do? I mean HTML is amazing...

Dude, no way is PSO+ going to get a whole new forum. Blue Burst is WAY more different, yet we don't have a forum, so why the HELL should PSO+ get one? @_@

PSO+ works with all other types of PSO GC. The only difference is a few changes that are supposed to prevent cheating, and offline East/West Tower, Seat of the Heart, and Central Dome Fire Swirl.

Since PSO+ is virtually identical, they could post a topic like "I need help in East Tower offline", or something. Doesn't need a new tag, at all.

Hehe, Tone it down a bit there, eh? Yes, PSO+ is in no need of a new tag or anything, it is basically the same. I do agree Blue Burst should have its own forum, however, just give the Admin time, it takes work to keep a website up, to add to it is even more work. Having just a forum to keep up is quite enough work for me right now so I can understand the delay.

Explore new dungeons, uncover new rare items and download new quests!

I was refering to that Ketchup, don't now if the download new quests part was them talking about the mini-games but IMO, those aren't quests, but mini-games, it doesn't involve your PSO character.

*sigh*... I didn't mean a new forum for pso+... I meant the little labels that are on the TOPIC LABEL area when you create a new topic. You know, it says TOPIC LABEL, and you put something like MAG, then you put the title of your subject.

Yeah, I meant that too. What Ian and Nites said. PSO+ is virtually the same as PSOGC, except if you're offline, it has more cool stuff to do.

It would be no different than some online person asking "I need some help soloing Towers" or something. Bleh.
