I hate the fact that you need to be 18 and have a Visa or Mastercard..I'm turning 17 soon, i have a job that pays between 200 and 400 dollars a month. And i don't plan on leaving the job for a very long time. I mean, why can't they let people use debit cards? Little kids who wouldn't know what they're doing wouldn't have a debit card, only mature people have debit cards. i've never EVER had insufficient funds for anything....


So in all, i think Sega should accept debit cards and i'm sure they'd get more people registering and buying Hunter's Lisence.

Um... Get a visa check card. If your bank doesn't do that, get a real bank. Sega takes those just fine.

How old do you have to be to have a Visa Check card? and do i have to have checks? or is it just a name? o.o;;

I was 17 when I got my checking account established. It's easy like this:

Since you're under 18, you have to get one of your parents to come into the bank with you. Sign the little paper and wait for one of the service people to invite you into their office (or whatever it is your bank does) and tell them you want to set up a checking account. Specify that you want a checking account that has a check card (methinks 99% of banks offer chack cards with checking accounts these days anyways) nad you're pretty much set to set up checking! Make sure you have a savings account there first (unless you want a totally new bank or something) and also make sure you have some money to actually PUT in the new checking (if you already have savings, you can just transfer to your new account). That should be about it, banks usually don't want to make things too hard for people and ARE interested in holding your money for you and making it easily accessible BY you. I know it's all fairly obvious stuff, but some of it just needs to be said. When you have a card, it's VERY EASY to over-draw your account! WAIT...omg....the Presidents Choice debit card i have now is a checking account!! It doesn't have a Visa or MasterCard thingy on it...but i always hit checking when i use it o.o;;

The only problem is, i need to be 18 to purchase a hunter's lisence...and it wants to know wether or not i have a visa or mastercard..what then?

So what other options do i have with my card? i mean..i wanna get online, but my mom keeps making up excuses not to let me....

ex) "I'm too tired" (i say can we do it tommorrow) "I work tommorrow" (i say, can't we do it when you get home?) "I'll be too tired"

I'm willing to guess that your mother has plenty of reasons why you shouldn't get online with this game that outweigh your one reason of wanting to, and you should respect that for now.

Really, you don't want to get into the ordeal of having to see the same issues and complexes that plague the online community.

She's just afraid that they are going to rip her off...everyone always rips her off--according to her anyways... ._. kuda said he'd ask his mom if she'd let me use her card and i'd just pay her back each month...can one card support two HL?

are you sure that sega doesnt take debit cards? cause, if im not mistaken, ive been using mine to pay for my online play. but that does suck that you have to be 18 in order to pay for online play, i guess sega assumes that anyone under 18 doesnt have a job or any income of any sorts and must rely on mommy and daddy for everything. i guess you just have to ask mom and dad to pay for it for you and then jst pay them back each month. a little more round about, but atleast you get to play still.

If you need to use a PIN to make purchases on your card then you can't use it to make online purchases, and you can't get a even debit credit card till you're 18, as Visa/mastercard requires you to be of that age to make any use of their system.

I was 17 when I got my Visa check card. I have a PIN number for use when I want to use it as debit and I can use it as a credit card whenever I want to (such as ordering things off of internet).

Open a checking account or saving account with someone like Bank of America(if you live in the US.) And bingo.

Check cards are just another word for debit.

I live in canada. And i have a checking account. But none the less, on the sign up sheet ( http://pso.sega.com/community/profiles/pso_gcn/pc_front/gcn_pc_reg_snak_enter.jhtml ) When you get to the part with the billing info, it wants either VISA or MASTERCARD...i see nothing else there unless mine just doesn't want to scroll ._.
