puck 9............ brings back some good memories. When I first got the Import PSOv2, and got online. Played with all my importer friends and then............. the US Ver2 was released, and Puck 9 turned into Hack Central.

Actually, it became hack central because of JP v2 not US...

Yeah your wrong. Hacking was involved and learned even before the US release. I remember about 3 weeks into the game seeing a few people i played with...with almost every availble special weapon. and many of them happende to be on this board (won't mention names) but definitly cheating began in JP v2 and ruined the game before US was even released. US PSO just plain sucks because servers are allways down, quests aren't given nearly as often. that's my reason for importing...and well...i'm an impatient bastard who will do anything to get his grubby hands on something he wants badly early. =)

...and when i say 3 weeks into it...i meant 3 weeks into the JP version i got...whcih i got 2 days after the official JP release...

I belive we can blame Lynx and Reye for Puck 9 being the starting hangout of PSO-W. We held many gatherings there where we would fill 5-8 lobbys easy. It's popularity started to decrease when cheaters hated our 'purist' beliefs and started coming in with 'townkill' hacks that allowed them to kill you at the terminals. They also would do bsod kills via some bugs specifically targeted at anyone in an open game on Puck 9.

Either way it was a fun hangout where we would just sit and chat while it lasted.
