Today something really strange rappened to me ... I was having trouble connecting to PSO. I left my PC on overnight doing downloads and in the morning I tried to conect to PSO with my main character. It failed 3 times due to DNS errors and network errors. Then I modified some stuff here and tried again ... also a failure, but this time it DCed while the DC was uploading the savefile to the server for checking ... I restarted the DSL modem and all stuff after this failure ... Result: When I tried by the 5th time the server said it detected ilegal data in my save file and reset me to lv1 equipment ... just funny a LV110 character with shield, lv5 mag and 0% saber
LMAO ! (I'm not angry about it, but it is not what we can call of fair, don't ya think so ? lol)
blame it on the cheating ! hahaha

Such BS, cheaters are still rampant. Also, if you were a cheater and lost your "illegal" items. Whats keeping you from creating them again?
The only people Sega (or whome ever is in charge of keeping servers clean) is hurting is the legit players. It's like they aim at the cheaters but end up giving the legits head shots.

If it'd only work right when they get online and disconnect them when they try something online. But this doesn't seem to be the case of course -sigh- Otherwise there'd be no cheating. I'd remember when I'd see often "Illegal Item found on thisperson" and then they'd d/c. Last time I saw that was 2 months ago O_o and before that I think it was more... I'd wish cheating weren't possible at all... oh well... V_V

I don't blame sega for reseting me ... It's likely a bug caused by that day lag connection ... And the message were about incorrect character data (I belive it was related to character stats, which were 100% just stats on my char ... If it was something else like a copy of the main save I would not connect with it after the reset. And I feel lucky it don't miss detected a "illegal" item (which I didn't had) because of the incomplete data it dl from my dreamcast on the last faulty connection attempt ... And even after this I can't blame SEGA for trying to counter the cheating. You may think the game saves each time you drop a item or use a shop for your safety, but it's NOT TRUE. It just saves the iventory in a temporary data part of the save to counter item dupe code. That's why dupers seem to use the bank to dupe items online nowdays ... Funny enough the bank is our safety and at same time our doom. Root of the nol problem and other bad things they do to us.
Maybe the only way to diminish the disappointment and grief is go to a japanese ship and play there ... You keep away from cheating probleam and you also will not understand what people say to you, so you will feel a little better, even if people talk bad about you ... hhehe (just kidding)
Just hack some new weapons.

If I had a cheat device it was going to be considered as a option ... lol
I had been playing this morning in hard/very hard to earn items and meseta (also get some tech disks) ... And I should say it was hella fun ... lol
I just figured out that for me the worst part of noling and such isn't the items you lose... It's the hard earned experience points that makes it painful.
I hope this let you know I am not into cheating, Greg. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
