I never played an online fighting game, and I don't plan to. The slightest bit of lag would kill the game, as it's all about perfect timing.

Oh, and Mario Party 2 was the best one out of them all...but yea, my left arm exploded in rage when I saw 5/6 being introduced.

I'm sure very few people would care about lag if/when SSB goes online. And anyways, it could be delt with.

I think that 1 of these types of games per system is fine. So as long as the next SSB is on the next Nintendo system, I don't see the problem that Mario Party has happening.

And also more characters couldn't hurt. Any ideas for new characters?
Mine: Ash and Gary, versions of Link from MM (Deku, Zora, and Goron {maybe Diety}), Olimar and Louie, some other guy from Kirby series, Animal Crossing characters.

My man, You have some good ideas.....but i couldnt
get around how an animal Crossing CHar. would fight....they can always pull a peach and use the shovel as a smash (etc)

Well, if you say that Ganondorf plays like Captain Falcon, you obviously haven't played enough Smash Bros. to really be commenting properly.

Anywho, Smash Bros on DS would be great. I've already gone over this in a DS thread from a few months back. Unfortunately, the Forum Search is still down, so I can't quote it.

Essentially it was this - Full-framed camera mode of the stage on the top screen, close-up combat camera on the bottom screen. Wireless play, at least four players per match, if not more. Possibly polygon based, but to be able to synch up the 3D close-up camera with the 2D camera of the top screen would be difficult.

Obviously they wouldn't cease making them for the consoles if they made a version on DS. It would just be another sequel.

Yes, they should also make one for Nintendo Next (or I suppose Gamecube, but I'd rather wait.) Maybe online play, but it's not essential. More unique characters, but don't get rid of the so-called "clone" characters. Far too many people use them already. Maybe up the player-count to LAN games of 16. Not sure how it would work, but it's worth a shot. Don't make it too complex, however. One of Smash Bros' touches is that it has very simple controls, but the game can also be very deep.

New items, new characters, new stages. The usual.
