How many people here have PSO for Gamecube but have yet to go online? I have a 73lv RAmar and I still haven't gone online. I have had many friends come over and played multiplayer(can't see sh*t , lol) but I currently bought a modem adapter and am looking to hit the online scene soon. Just wanted to see how many GC people haven't gone online.

I think this has been asked before. I think there's around 300 on the American servers at peak times, 500-900+ on the JP servers at peak times, and usually 100- on EU ships. I'm not so sure anymore, I retired.

I think his question was how many people on PSOW have never gone online I think.
But... I'd have no clue about the answer, I think like 85% of the users here have been online for some time at least.

I didn't go online until a couple of weeks ago XD

Before then I played multimode with my friends. It would be kinda fun if I could play with one of my friends, his RAmarl is lv144+ ^o^

I've recently 'retired' from online GC play, I may play again on special occasions, but I dont really have time anymore http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif The JP ships are nearly always the most populated, but obviously you need to know how to either write/read japanese or use word select. You still tend to get around 100 people playing US ships though, EU ships usually around 20-30, maybe 50 later on.

Wow , thanks for the answers.

I wish that PSO had some kind of lan or network play where you could hook up a couple of systems and play.

I had PSO but no BBA for a few months.

LAN PSO would be great, but I don't know if I have that many friends to play with anyway. T_T

I guess the prob is that you still need to buy a HL...I mean, I for one do not have the money to buy a new subscription each month, so I play offline...

Also, a question to the topic creator: did you get the broadband adapter or the modem adapter? I've heard the speed with the modem adapter sucks a$$...

Flashlight
01-05-2005, 12:37 PM
lol modem adapter is for telephone line (called 56K) It sure sucks (played onlien whit my comp whit it)...Broadbands are for Cable and DSL(correct me if wrong)

But I still play ofline...My mom won't let me play online...I got a HUmar Lv.94 and HUcaseal Lv.80 HUnewearl Lv.45 a FOnewearl Lv.42 and 1 of Lv.21 I use to play whit my mom's friend his son...Non of my friends like the game!!! But my moms friend his son does...well I play whit him alot but he don't got very high players(Lv.34 and Lv.18)...I mostly play single Player Offline and that sucks bigtime...leveling up -_-'

So I think I stay offline forever...I just hope to find players that like the game very much and lives near me....

BTW the levels are diff then those down... Can't seem to change it

I would play online if there were more players to play with. Right now or for a month ago i was online and like 90% of all players cheated and were rude... The reson why i dont go on. But if PSO will come back to the old days i will start play again! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

It would seem that I too have yet to go online. I am a level 115 HUcasseal, and have gotten everything I own offline. However, I do think that I will have to get online. My friend just went online and now I fear I will not be able to keep up with him :^( I'm going to try and get online asap!!

I've played online like 5 times and that was played with a friends character who as already at Lvl200. As for K'veer Raven here, he hasn't been online yet. So, to answer the question, I've played online, but I'm currently and offline only player, for now.

I was online on the dreamcast version from the start, without cheating or acepting any obvious hacked items, or buying pso items on e-bay - at the start of DC PSO people were selling pso wepons/armour/messata/mags etc for real money on e-bay, that was of course before duping.
Then i moved to the gamecube, again online, and i was playing PSO frequently online up to may last year.
then i stopped for a bit.
I was only intending to have a short break, but there were a few un expectid things that turned up, and i soon found myslef without enough spare time.
I will return to GC PSO online one day, whats the online comunity like nowadays is the hacking/cheating/FSODing/RSODing as bad as it was on the dreamcast version?

I dunno if its possible to go online in Australia (might be doable now) but I was online in the DC days, the game was so much better online, don't play it much these days, but would definantly get right into it if I could, although even if you can get it in Australia, I'm sure the Hunters License would be a little too much.

I've never been online before. I have a lvl 114 FOnewearl, a 72 RAcast, a 68 HUnewearl, and a 34 FOnewm. I've mainly played with 2 of my friends in multi-mode. We just got another friend hooked and with PSO+ release we've been having fun with the new quests.

I thought about going online but never have. Think I'm just gonna wait and see about getting PSO:BB when its released in America.

be careful when you go online is all i'm saying http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

i went online for the first time this weekend (i was lvl 98 FOmarl then) and from the first minute of online play i spent the next 21 hours playing the game, with no interruptions except a sanitary break. i even had chicken while playing... it will seriously affect your life http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
it's great actually, met cool people, it's a completely different experience to the offline game. a better one, can't wait to go online again, but it's a schoolweek and stuff so i can't, and i'm on holiday in the weekend http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif stupid thing is... haven't got a connection at home, so i have to play at a friend's house :/ but it works! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

good luck, maybe we'll meet online one day http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I've had Pso for a long time, my highest character being a Level 106 Racaseal and I've wanted to get online and try out some quests. But I've read other posts and I guess GC severs are dead mostly. But it is highly doubtful I'll ever get online since I only have a 56k modem and no broadband modem adapter.

I was online the other day, and noticed that the JP servers had over 2000 people. I almost cried (the US servers had around 36...).

I'm surprised I'm not the only one online on Gamecube PSO.

It's so damn hard to find legits or non-assholes nowadays. It'd be a breath of fresh air to find myself in a game with 4 non-assholes at least.

Man, I wish I had a better internet connection than a 56k, I'd join you guys that want non-assholes unless you would consider me one, lol. But, then again, that won't happen anytime soon. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Well, think about it--it's sort of the new Japanese pop culture to play video games [and dress weird, apparently].

Anyway, I got another ethernet cable so now I don't have to unplug my PC's connection to play PSO. :3

= More PSO time!

I play online every day, mostly with people I know (well hunting Milla with people who can only say TP, THNX, YW and K isn't very nice you know?). Or on populated blocks in deserted lobbys.

Offliners: Offline rocks... almost no fsod, a smaller chance of corruption, weaker eneies and KIREEK! n_n be happy to be offline, but you're still missing something online http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

the olny time i went online is when pso v1 for dc was free, and then i had ungodly lag (had to use the modem to modem trick, and the pc modem was a horrible winmodem http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif ) as for gc version, i kinda want to, but i need money for a bba (and hopefully not get any lip from the dimwits at the eb/gamestop) then somehow get an ethernet cable all the way down into the basement from my bedroom (where the router in my house is) and then work up the courage to ask my dad to start a subscription for me (even if i am able to give the money to him every month i still hear is annoying 'i have no money even though i do and i'm just a really greedy person' double-talk http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_evil.gif ) At the moment i've olny played with my brother maybe twice, and quite literaly have no friends locally so that is out of the question too (man i'm lonely....)

There is nothing wrong with the 56k modem to play this game. I haven't been online for ages now (about 1 and a half years) and i haven't even played the game in a while either. All i now is that i had some great times online, chatting with people etc. The reason i don't want to go back is because of the FSOD. I am a legit non asshole who resides here n the U.K. I might even give the game a try online if any wants a non asshole to play with.

I agree that theres nothing wrong with using 56k modem on PSO. The way I see it, I don't think there's a need for the high speed since I don't think the loading times are bad at all. What? Like 20-30 secs to load a quest, maybe less? I never even noticed. Seeing as I cant afford broadband, 56k is a convinient, cheap (maybe even superior?) solution. Besides, when do you ever hear someone excited about "totally downloading that quest like right away!" especially since you have to wait for the guys with slower connections to finish downloading anyways. 56k all the way!

Hey, I'm level 146 and will probably not get online on the GC since I have to buy the Broadband Adapter from the net at a price of 70-80$ not including postal fee.

But I have a lot of fun joking around with around 8 chars and my friends have a lot of chars. I'm gonna try to get all weps offline.

You can quite easily find the BBA for around $40 online.

Im saddened that im crippled to offline for now http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Hell ive seen bba adapters going for 20£ in the uk if you look well enough gamestation is a good bet but like you said 56k is alll u really need since your only playing online in a quest with 3 more people tops so broadband is slightly overkill.

Well, any legit players who want a game, pm me and it can be arranged http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
On the online thing, there are still quite a few players on.
Peak times :
JP 2000+
US 200 or so
EU 150 maybe

Bad times
JP 100+
US 1+
EU 1+

let's see..i have a lvl 110 HUcast and a level 52 FOnewearl. Never played online. I probably never will, not on the Cute, at least. With Blue Burst eventually coming out here (even if it doesn't I'm learning Japanese pretty fast so it doesn't matter), I'll just get it on the computer. I couldn't stand to use that software keyboard anyway.
