It's a warm cereal, made from wheat (duh). Also called cracked wheat, it's a mushy breakfast food that doesn't really have much flavor until you scoop lots of sugar on it. If you've ever had grits, it's like that only wheat instead of corn. If not ... well, really funky, tiny-chunky wheaty oatmeal would get you in the right ballpark.
