Disneyland isn't happening. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
Apparently I need a traveler's visa to get into your country, which is 150CAD to apply for. Then, I also need to schedule an appointment for that, and the earliest date is April 19th, and it takes 30 days to process. So. Forget it. It won't happen for another couple months.

*sad*

Try to reschedule for the first weekend of July. That way, you can go to Disneyland, AND the Anime Expo.

Nah. Not interested in conventions.

Wait.
Is Man-Faye gonna be there? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I am saddened.

I was thinking of asking you some more info about it as soon as possible concerning transportation questions/times and whatnot.

I just recently read over something in the newspaper about the "50th anniversary of Disneyland!" and some big event happening on May 5, 2005 for a week or so.

If we did all go in (last week of)April we would have missed it.

Nevertheless it would have been crowded, and much less fun when you can't walk around and have to wait in lines for hours to ride anything.

Someone at work today was talking about how fun Disneyland was too.

That's right! It's more fun than a barrel of rabid monkeys hell-bent on gnawing off your extremities!

its not worth it, nothing is worth that much trouble, personally, i find places like disney land tourist traps and mostly a big waste of money.... then again that's me..... maybe im the only one that doesn't like paying so much on theme parks... learn to enjoy the simple pleasures in life (im not talking about sitting in front of the Television for hours on end, go and enjoy nature, go outside some, play a sport, go hiking, appreciate your surroundings, i find that i can have just as much fun riding a bicycle through trails in a forest as a trip to disneyland or sixflags..... thats all i have to say.....

Sorry to hear of your troubles, navi. Anywho, I think it's for the best that we put this off a bit. Like I said in the other thread, next quarter is absolutely, positively not a good idea for me.

And Hayabusa, Disneyland will indeed be celebrating its 50th anniversary, but just because it starts in may doesn't mean anything will be over should we end up going months afterwards. Disneyland has a way of milking all their special events for a good year or so. Basically, there are going to be a few more blech street parades or something, and the castle will be given a new paint job, so as to make it seem more "cartoonish" (the guy at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride told everyone this while the ride was stuck with us in it for 30 minutes http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_dead.gif). A few years ago, the castle was made to look like a big birthday cake... that lastest for two years if I'm not mistaken.

I've been going to Disneyland every 24th of December since 1992 (the only exception being 2003 due to pretty darn serious money troubles). I'd tell you whether it was fun or craptastic, but honestly, it's 100% a matter of personal opinion. Some hate it, some love it, some have it grow on them (*points to self*). The last couple of times that I've gone, I've spent more time sitting down on a bench, stuffing my face, and occasionally feeding the birds (and a rat on one occasion http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif) with my left-over popcorn. One thing I'm certain of, is that once we're all in a group, it won't matter whether you like Disneyland or not, you'll have fun. Period.

Now if you'll excuse me, Jess, I'm going to Six Flags in just two more hours. You go have fun being one with the trees in your backyard. If you get lucky, a squirrel might even maul you. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I thought that hanging out at a theme park with friends *is* a simple pleasure in life.

Albiet an expensive one.

Hahaha. *thumbs up to Rico*
Jess: you missed the point. It isn't about theme park. It is about getting to meet up with a bunch of people. I was looking for a good place where we will be reasonably occupied, have fun, something to talk about for the next month. And getting to see crazies. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

It will happen. Just another time, I guess. I am still applying for the visa. So I am definitely going to Cali some day whenever the visa is valid. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

What do you get out of doing this?

I was being serious. You're not helping by having fun at my expense.

I hate people who shit on one sentence I make in a reply with at least a half dozen sentences, as if the others never existed. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Meh.
There's a Six Flags in my city, a short ways away from my workplace. I never go. No friends to go with.

Nature? Sports?

Already taken care of back up there, but obviously not the point. We know how much these things cost(and will continue to cost more). You must have missed the previous topics about this; paraphrasing: 'theme parks aren't all that great, but going to one with a bunch of weirdos you have never met is that much better.' So don't put down someone else's plan just for your own fulfillment for once.

Sorry to be judgemental and all everyone, but damn. Not so fun to have something you're looking forward to being swept away.

There there Hayabusa. I don't think Ted meant it maliciously. He was merely joking. Here here. *hugs*

Sorry this didn't work out. But there is always a next time, right? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

P.S. Ted was invited as well. I am sure he is just as disappointed at not able to meet us bunch of weirdos. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I was joking, which I had hoped would have been obvious, but next time I'll make it even more over the top so as to eliminate the possibility of offending anyone with a less than temperate demeanor.

And you can't seriously expect someone to respond to every little thing you say. When your posts are three times longer than the average FKLer's people are going to pick some things to focus on and some things to ignore. You can't expect everyone to be like you and address every little thing a person says, most people don't work that way and if you want to hate them for it, then go right ahead.

Yeah, I'm sorta prone to mood swings.

One reply might be in a completely different state of mind from another.

One weirdo on his own is just that, some weirdo loner.

A weirdo within a group of weirdos can be something to be afraid of!

I've been real ranty lately.
Tomorrow some teeth are being pulled, for a hefty price, so I'm not that happy about anything right now.

Thanks for the hugs. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Probably his own way of showing diappointment then. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I'd say something to Ted, but I don't think it matters. I don't understand his willingness to be hateful(my opinion on some of his posts I've seen).
