Ugliest Character...

Why must the best character for offline games be the ugliest? I am talking about the FOnewm... I love his stats, his great boosts, the fact that he's powerful and has TP regenerating abilities as a newman, but why is he so darn ugly? He looks great in drawings (As does the RAmar but that backpack...) but the only way to make a FOnewm look good is making him look like Peko from Ep 3... Short and fat so that his great big behind doesn't look as bad. Making him tall and thin is really a recipe for disaster... Please, can someone else tell me why hasn't he even got a good costume...

Every single goddamned one is the same: Hideous face paint, god-awful hairstyle, ridiculous costume(Usually the ones where it looks like panties under the skirt), and the size of a five-year old child with enormous breasts, and the asshole who owns it gushing about how sexy their little kid character is. My HUmar looks okay... I think... But then again I well and truly detest their stupid costumes... Only two... Maybe three of them look alright but they all look like they're wearing wigs... Only RAcast and HUcaseal really look any good... RAcast with the biggest shoulders possible and the chunkiest legs look absolutely awesome! HUcaseal looks quite stealthy in some suits and if she is made as short as possible, she looks funny with a sword equipped!

I take minor offense to that.
you only cjhoose robots because they have either A: huge armour, or B: look like ninjas.
ninjas are horribly overdone these days, and Huge armor is really seen too much in videogames.
the only HUmars i Dislike are the afro HUmars.
and my FOmar looks pretty cool with his Elysion. (I use it for making him look cool)
and also, I think HUnewerals could use improvement, but ones in less revealing ostumes are fine by me.

Frankly, I wouldn't have made any of my characters if I thought they were ugly. (Although, as an experiment, I did change PJ's hair to long hair... he looks so short now http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif )

So, in short, ugly characters are whatever you make them. You make them ugly, and that is how they are. And again, I will say, taste is subjective.

In short, there's a lot of crummy looks for characters in PSO. I guess it's not the limited character customization it's just that too many costumes look the same and too many horrible faces.

Look at androids. Only 5 heads per class and most of em are horrible.

For most other classes it's a large amount of costumes that look all too similar except a few color changes and being forced to either wear a hat or no hat.

How is it that RAmars and FOmars are the only male classes with facial hair? Why are RAmarls the only class outside of Forces with hats? Why do androids have so many color settings but most are awful? I could go on with the questions but the point is, with the few good looks there's far too many awful ones.

Newms can look pretty cool, RicoRoyal's FOnewm is proof of that. Like Jason said, it's because of the clothes. All classes can look hideous, but all of them can look decent as well. Yes, I do hate FOnewearls for a reason, Tycho. The reason that they're all fucking ugly.

FOnewearl is the ONLY non-droid class where there is only one face I'd even ever consider using. HUmar? 2 and 4. HUnewearl? Forget the numbers, but it's the purple eyes and the green eyes. RAmar? The one with the goatee, the asian-looking one and the one with the camoflauge paint. RAmarl? The one with purple eyes and the one with camo paint. FOmar? 1, 2 and 4. FOmarl? Almost all of them, really. FOnewm? 1 and 4. Even the female droids each have two tolerable heads.

FOnewearl? Only one that isn't hideous is #4. Guess which one half the world uses? Oh, and because of the way the proportions are done, if you try to make a tall FOnl so it's not a bloody 5-year-old child, the eyes on that one look really fucking ugly. Plus the FOnewearl does not increase in height well. X_x; She ends up looking as ugly as the HUmar's knees. >_>;

I also hate her costumes. All of them. Some look better than others, sure, but at the end of the day? They're all god-awful. Hell, there are several FONEWM costumes I like. I can even tolerate a couple of the HUnewearl costumes, and I hate them! FOnl? Ugh. No.

I loathe cutesy. I despise cutesy with a burning passion. There is no way to make a FOnewearl that is both non-cutesy and non-ugly. Sure, you can make it non-cutesy, but then it's ugly, as stated before.

FOnl has been, is, and shall continue to be the ugliest class, and the only one of which I have NEVER seen an example I actually like.

The closest you can get to a decent FOnewearl:

Face #4, any skin tone.
The hair with the bandana and the braids.
First row red or second row blue costume.
Middle height, normal-sized breasts, or flatchested if you can manage it.

(See: Ep1 Elly, or the FOnewearl I had on GC before I killed her for being ugly/my second BB c-mode FOnl)

This is the ONLY FOnewearl combination possible that's not completely crap. And I still don't particularily care for it. Even HUcast, whom I also hate the looks of, is better in that there's a couple of decent ones possible. And even if there's only one RAcast design I like, I like it so much that I use it. XP

When did I ever say HUmar was ugly, or that FOnewearl was 'close' to his ugliness? FOnewearls made tall suffer from bad proportions, simple. Just as how when you make a HUmar max height his knees are stretched to the point of looking rather bad. FOnewm suffers from being entirely too thin if you do his proportions a certain way at max height, a RAmar with his height decreased doesn't decrease in width. FOmar is actually one of the only male characters that doesn't aquire issues when his height is decreased. As much as I dislike short characters, even a min height FOmar looks proportional... Unlike, say, a tall FOnewearl, or HUnewearl, or a short RAcast.

This stems possibly from the fact that FOmar is a 'new' character to Ep1&2 - RAmarl has a bit of trouble going to max height, but not much(Her waist gets too small, and that's it), and HUcaseal scales with no trouble at all. DC chars, like FOnewearl and HUmar, do not scale quite as well, though RAcaseal being so similar to the HUcaseal scales well, except her skirts tend to end up in odd places.

And when did I say Ep1 Elly was the only possible attractive FOnewearl? I used her as an example of the combination that works. Shall I point out that I mentioned my own FOnewearls as well? Wiwi was black, and used the second row blue costume. How does this constitute an obession with Elly? For that matter, even if I had one, what bearing at all does it have on the thread? None whatsoever. Indeed, maybe you should grasp it as the one straw related to FOnewearls I can stand the looks of, since you seem so keen on defending them? ok, here's my opinion.

With regards to FOnewearl, indeed I don't care for it's looks. I too hate cute things, just as Ian does. HOWEVER there is ONE costume, ONE hairstyle, ONE face and ONE exact proportion that makes FOnewearl good looking for me. A FOnewearl at max height with even body proportion, the first black costume and the first hair style(bouncy balls), with the purple eye paint. That's Evil Althena for you. She looks womanly and EVIL, not cutesy and girly. <3

I love FOmars, esp. tall with long hair. They just look like badasses...like Ghaleon. Also, they are amusing to make really short and "cute". Alot of their hairstyles suffer, however. Also, the one old guy face with facial hair matches NO hairstyle...it looks rediculous.

FOmarl...blech. Yeah, they're regal, they're dignified...but god-awful ugly. Perhaps its the HORRIBLE hairstyle and face choices? There are 2 hairstyles I'd choose for a FOmarl. First of all, they all wear ugly fucking hats that look rediculous...or have stupid ribbons. I like my FOmarls to have LONG flowing hair...and there's 1 style for that. I do like their robe color choices, however.

FOnewm. I can't really say much. It was my very first char. Don't really like how their costumes make their butt look big. They just look goofy and comedic...i'd never make one as a serious char.

RAmars are particular distasteful to me...again they suffer from the same problem HUmars have...but worse

When did I ever say HUmar was ugly, or that FOnewearl was 'close' to his ugliness? FOnewearls made tall suffer from bad proportions, simple. Just as how when you make a HUmar max height his knees are stretched to the point of looking rather bad. FOnewm suffers from being entirely too thin if you do his proportions a certain way at max height, a RAmar with his height decreased doesn't decrease in width. FOmar is actually one of the only male characters that doesn't aquire issues when his height is decreased. As much as I dislike short characters, even a min height FOmar looks proportional... Unlike, say, a tall FOnewearl, or HUnewearl, or a short RAcast.

You know a lot of HUmars and FOmars online look bad, still, you like some, so you conclude they look good.
My reasons for disliking HUmars (other than they are used by stereotypical noobs) are the same as why you dislike FOnewearls. Most of the HUmars you see online look really bad.

You said FOnewearls don't necessarily have to look ugly, but when they do not, they look cute. Yet you concluded "FOnewearls are the ugliest fucking things in existance", instead of something like "FOnewearls can look either like the ugliest fucking things in existance, or, cute".

You know, people bitch about the HUmar's costume design, and it's the only human costume in the game that makes any sense as far as armor goes. Characters in PSO block with the left arm. Gee, guess what HUmar has on his left arm? Yes, the armor thing on his forearm, and also on his shoulder. He also has more armor on both his shoulders. And since characters in PSO use(mainly) their right arm when attacking, guess which arm doesn't have a bunch of crap on it that would slow down attack times?

I dunno, it makes perfect sense to me. Sure, it's not 'pretty' or whatever, but jesus of hell, people, it's BATTLE GEAR. It's supposed to be utilitarian, not 'sexy' or 'cute' or whatever the hell you're all on about. Stop fapping to your newearls long enough to think about practical issues. -_-;
