Now, not to insult anyone's musical preferences, but I'd like to wonder what the hell The Mars Volta is pushing in their new album.
Just when I begin to enjoy a song, it devolves into 6 minutes of ambient electronica.
Excuse me... what the crap? I wouldn't mind this, say, if The Mars Volta were particularly good at weaving "chill" tunes, but they aren't.
Oh, and for their attempts at "power" rock? Please. I've heard stronger chords from Yellowcard.
Hold on while I use the CD as a drink coaster and listen to Televators.
Ah... much better. My ears no longer wish to commit suicide. Is this what happens when a band gets full of themselves?
I wish to hear any explanations of this album's vision, and why it doesn't deserve to be thrown into the void.
