PSOPC Legit Questions

I recently been playing more PSO:PC. Now, sometimes I come upon this:

It's a Rare Armor, however it has no Red Box! Is this normal?

Sometimes I find this:

It's a ?Special Weapon http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Not in a red box neither, but I think this is normal. But of course I'm not sure with all these hackers / cheaters around.
Sometimes I find 'Agito' instead of a ?Special Weapon. An untekked rare in a normal brown weapon box. This cant be normal I think. So could someone tell me if there are Red Boxes in PSO:PC or if rare armor is always in blue box and rare weapons in brown box?

As that version of PSO is based off v2, there are no red boxes.

Yes version 1 and 2, did not have red boxes.

But finding Tekked Rares in boxes is not legit i suppose?

Nope, tekked rares in boxes was how they did things on V2.

Around the time V2 came out, they patched both versions to make all box rares be untekked. You'd blast open a box and find a shiny, yellow-fonted BRIONAC sitting there. It was kinda weird at first, but then I got used to it, and now I'm probably un-used to it again after playing PSO GC for so long.

Weapon boxes are Orange, not Brown. >.>

Note, also, that only the rares that existed in ver.1 were autotekked in ver.2.
Rares that were new to ver.2, such as the Red weapons, were still considered Special Weapons.
The reason for that is about midway though Hard mode or so, you'd start finding 9 stars as the common weapon.
By the time you'd get around to Vhard Ruins and such, the 9 star weapons were the norm (DB's Sabers, Brionacs, Varistas, etc.)
Now that they don't drop that much in GC/Xbox, they just made them display as Special Weapons again, and then added the red box graphic to rares.

In short, everything is how it should be in terms of what you asked.
