PSOBB: Telepiping for Rares

Does the fact that we can no longer pipe for rare enemies put you off. Or do you like it better this way? Your rares will become rarer and alot more effort must be put into finding them.

I think I like it better this way. When someone went "Wooooo just got myself a demo comet" Im like meh, welcome to the club. Mainley because it was no real achievment as any tom dick and harry can telepipe on end for hours. I feel that the ones who will aquire the most rares are the ones who put in more time and effort to find and the insanely lucky: "haw 4 hildeltors dropped from the sky and they all dropped a heavens punisher with 100% Dark!" http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Note: Not dissing peoeple who did telipipe. Hell i did it too when i wanted some standstill shields.

I'm in the same boat as the both of you. I really like the idea of there being no more piping in PSOBB.

Finding that lucky mil that gives you the Psycho Wand holds a whole new level of meaning. With the doing away of piping, ST has ensured that some of these newer weapons, such as the Guld Milla clone (Mirumaruto?), don't become more common than their slightly weaker counterparts (not saying Guld Milla is weak, though http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif)

Anyways, the lack of piping and the increase of rare enemies appearing is how PSO was supposed to be, finding the rare enemies often with friends, not some obscure occurance usually only done with piping.

ORAN and BLUEFULL offer much, much better droprates for straight hunting, especially in light of PW quests which offer better exp and better areas... Addicting Food/Ice Spinner or PW2? Addicting Food/Ice Spinner or PW3? XP

And I'm indifferent, but then, I'm indifferent to the whole 'rares as a measure of 1337ness' thing. It's a means to an end. Yeah, a Soul Banish is great. But if I really need to? Well, fuck, I AM a Force, high enemy resists be damned, I'll mow them into the ground anyway, I'm a FOmar, I've got a natural boost to some level of every element but Megid. Or maybe I'm a Hunter. Well, what the fuck, that Gungnir with Hit was good enough for me in Ult when I was L63, it's damn well good enough now that I'm L132! Yeah, the S-Rank Zalure Needle is nice, so's the Yas and FS, but this Meteor Smash, Charge Vulcan and Hit % Freeze Raygun work too.

All it really does is make the braggarts even more obnoxious, and annoys those of us who have better things to do with our time than look for something for 20 years. >_>;

I've never been bothered with the fact ubers have been pipable. I mean yeah, I think it lowers the value of them in some kind of another "meaningful" way. What if those people does not know that their ID won't help them finding specific Rares they desired?. This is only my opinion.

I'm indifferent about it really, I mean, I never had the patience to do it.... Which is probably why I have not seen to many rare enemies. If anyone has the patience to go in a room with a couple monsters, and pipe through it for what could be hours, then well thats like hunting it in a way. But, from what I have heard, in Blue Burst, their encounter rate has been increased so 'piping' would be a bit unfair right? I've only seen one Hildatorr and was excited to see and kill it. If I went online and found out that people on Blue Burst find them once every few hours or so because of Piping, then and only then I would be pissed.

And that's nice, Nites. People have found REDRIA's Psycho Wand before, too, I'm sure. That doesn't make hunting it there a good idea unless you have no other earthly choice. Such is PURPLENUM without piping. XP

Though considering that BB is limited to 4 characters, period, and you can't buy a new memory card to expand your hunting possibilities like you can with GC(Or have the ability for more from the start, period, like Xbox), and that EVERYONE on BB uses the same five IDs... >_> I guess nobody HAS a BLUEFULL or ORAN, do they? 9_9 (Well, why would they? Shit, I remember SKYLY being a difficult ID to find.)

But seriously... Would you hunt a REDRIA Lavis Cannon without piping?(Well, maybe now that you'll finally be getting TTF, but even then it's dodgy and I saw all of two Pouilly Slimes there in about a trillion TTF runs, and I ALWAYS split for the full 16) Well, no, if you had any sense, you'd go to PURPLENUM and do Heat Sword. Why is it suddenly some horrible thing to suggest doing a similarily intelligent course of action with Psycho Wand? Or do people just not want to admit that other IDs outside the Big Five can be good? 9_9

You want pathetic? I can't go online to get thw Heat Sword quest, so I have to get the Lavis cannon on a Ultimate forest run. I hate my section ID, in my opinon its crap. ( PURPLENUM ). As for the BB thing, I WANT a Bluefull, but am not able to get a name I like with that ID. So I have to be content with Skyly, but is it REALLY that common? And I read somewhere that BB had 12 characters, not 4.

I've got two HLs...but I only pay for one. Bluefull gets a lot of good items, though I'm torn between virida and bluefull. Purplenum is good for Frozen Shooter (I still love that 65% hit) but overall its not too great. But I love doing pw1 runs. The xp is awesome, its easy, and theres a chance of a Heaven's Punisher. >.>

Once I find that, I'll probably make viridia or bluefull.

I agree, Piping for hours on end is what made me never get a rare weapon only by fluke. And when you do find osmething by fluke it's awesome!! It IS how PSO was supposed to be!

Like today I saw a Hildeblu while searching for an Egg Rappy...dropped Meseta though. >_>

And when me and my friend found an Al Rappy in Multiplayer when we made level 1 characters out of boredom!

I didn't deliberately hunt for it hours on end though, it was mostly a fluke that I found it. But accidents happen both ways.....lol
