Does anyone remember the days when Photon Whip was around... Mags with like 1000 lvls to like POW... Spread Needles with like 999% to everything... I sit around with DB and talk about how funny those things used to be... We also wonder why they created the umbrella as a real weapon and not the Phonton Whip or like Double Oroti... Just wondering stuff..

Ah yeah, those times. I've been there, starting from v1 of DC. My first time online was when I was about lv 20, a HUmar I was. In the first opened team I've joined, I got PKed (my Player Killed by a Player Killer) on Pioneer 2, lol. Yeah, by a HUmar of blue spiked hair that killed me in one shot of Rabarta. I didn't have a keyboard at the time. Every time I've been PKed I was taken back to the medical center. I figured that I won't get PKed if I leave the nurse's message on of something like, "Are you okay? Please be careful." When I ran to the checkroom, I saw that the lady was dark coloured. Must be another thing from a cheat device apart from PKing.

Still on v1 I was, I was amazed when I was new with the weapon animations. The first Double Saber I've got was from a good friend I had in the online world of PSO. It was sweet, and later on I've got another one myself from Ruins. And I loved the Geist special, and so I loved using either Flowen's Sword or a Brionac that I've also got. I remember that I've found a Magical Piece from Ruins, too. I was surprised at the tekker screen when that was the weapon I've found. I didn't know about attribute %'s bonus with tekking at the time, but it was a FO weapon so it doesn't really matter. I remember wanting a Twin Brand so bad, lol. It was a good weapon for v1 at its time, and I gave my Magical Piece for that weapon to make the trade with one who had it. Now that I know more of the Magical Piece when the GC version came, I guess I should had kept it when I got it for v1 as it is nice to look at.

With the cheating around, I had never been corrupted. I've been NOLed once, but power off and still had my character. I remember entering a telepipe from a team, and landed on a wall from some cheater who had placed a telepipe. It was annoying but funny. I've heard that some can make Pioneer 2 for a lobby, but I've never seen it myself.

Been lving all the way to lv 100, which is the maximum for v1. Then I transferred my v1 character into v2 when it came out. With a lot of cheating going on, in a team I remember entering a telepipe that got me into a battle area that is Temple. It is deserted, but it was cool heh. And on the DC versions you could sell mags, and make a fortune for selling rares. You can sell a Red Handgun for 100 000+ meseta, lol. And the dressing room cost 100 000 meseta, unlike now with the GC/X-Box versions. I've been using unlegit weapons, the Ultimate Mode was just insane compare to the modern versions. Stopped playing to when I've reached to lv 124, when ST doesn't put up the servers no more. I don't really think this thread had anything to do with cheating. More of just talking about old days, but cheats were there in the old days.

thanks for those galleries.... it was cool to see them... i remember the empty pioneer 2 telepipe trick.... you casted telepipe in the lobby and boom... pioneer 2 was empty... PK was gay... but some of the hacks were funny... double oroti was the best i remember seeing.... once again thanks for those galleries

I think what's being referred to is... the old days of cheating and rumors (photon whips probably being some sort of popular shopped picture back then, I'm assuming).

If you had a Double Saber or a Twin Brand you were like considered to be a God because no one else had one. I know it's hard to imgaine but think about playing pso where you never saw a twin-saber weapon. I remember people when they asked me what weapon I got and I told them Twin-brand. They were like "A what?". When I showed them they were like "OMG!", "SWEET!", "AWESOME!", which then followed the question "can I equip it?". lol...

I too heard a lot of rumors back then. I'm sure I don't remember them all but there were a lot.

The photon Whip was a picture that someone made and showed it off about having it. It caused a lot of havoc long ago. Sadly I thought the Photon Whip was real... But the weapon never existed.

White Saber and Black Saber were also another false weapon that people bragged about having... Although you can make a white and black saber now days by altering the hex colors in sabers. The actual rare weapon never existed in pso.

Red Ring was also bragged about obtaining after killing Dark Faltz on Easy mode when the ring popped into the air. Another false rumor...

Playing as Sonic, Tales, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman was a huge rumor. Only Sonic Team could do this and the character sprites are actually in the game.
I had played as them with Gameshark but it caused a lot of problems for my game. They do exist but you cannot legitimately play them. Also the theme songs from Sonic Adventure for each charater are in the music source for PSO! If you have download PSOBB you can use winamp to access the music files and listen to the music for yourself. Like Sonic's theme song and the song when you fight Perfact Chaos. They are in the GAME!

False Rare Monsters/Bosses
Sinow White & Sinow Black dropped the White and Black Sabers... Which was BS.

Sonic Rappy... I heard about it somewhere but have no idea about this rumor. Maybe dropped the Sonic Knuckles or something. It's not true though.

Eggman Robot? (Forgot name) was supposedly spotted in the mines and you would get an Egg Blaster if you killed it. (It was some robot from Sonic Adventure) This was pretty convincing because the weapon is real but the monster wasn't...

(EDIT!: The robot that appeared was the Big "Green" robot that captured Amy in Sonic Adventure. It would spawn instead of a Garanz, Those Big "Green" robots that shoot missiles.)

Vol Opt III, Yes believe it or not there was a 3rd version of Vol Opt that was thought to be as big as Dark Falz. Some people believed it as a rare form that hardly ever appeared but I knew that this rumor was full of crap.

Fight two Del Rol Le's at once!, Yep it was thought that if you stayed on the platform on the hardest setting, which was very hard, for a "really", "really..." long time. Then two of the fugly worms would appear! Yea I fell for this one... And I can say that this rumor is not true. Trust me I'm good for it!

Blue Forie Spells, Casting blue fire sounds pretty cool. But this was false for a legit spell. Although I bet if I could get into the Color Hex I could make the forie look like blue fire. ^-^

RaGrants & RaMegid, Have no idea as to how it would look like... But people bragged about having a spell that could cast Multi-Megid or Mulit-Grants.
This could be hacked easily but definitely not legit. False Rumor!

Hidden Elevator!, Ok I thought this was the coolest rumor but you can tell it was false. Next to the bank and right around the area where the Telepipes are set to appear. Along the wall is an "Elevator" that is as big as your character and it moves up and down. This elevator thing is really in the game! But it's just for eye candy.
It was rumored that you could go in it and it would take you to a new part of the City. Like a Night Club/Bar and you would meet all sorts of people including a weapon/armor smuggler, exiled Scientists, and Black Paper...

With the Smuggler you could Enhance/MOD your weapons and armors with special stuff. And edit its looks/design similar to what you did when you created a character. The NPC also gave out missions to sell his weapons.

The Exiled Scientists gave out missions for illegal research findings and required you to break into "labs" (New Levels: Maybe pso EP2?).

The Black Paper could hire you for assassination missions and kill other hunters...

Yep it was a very long stretched rumor. But I believe that this was just someone's personal ideas that got out of hand and became a wacky/dead rumor... I wish all of those Night Club rumors were true though... http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Gameshark Um, yeah, erased a character with one of those. Half of the cheats didn't work, but it was nice to have backups in case of PKers.

Well, even some older people of places didn't necessarily know all the old stuff that went on in those places, just something I've seen before so I went ahead and played it safe.
