You know what fad I'm glad died down, although still not completely?

The whole wanting to be asian thing.

I hate posers on the internet who try to be down with asian culture or pretend their Japanese or something, because it's cool.

Like the type you meet in chat rooms who will talk in English a bit, then start spitting out Kanji or Romanji to try and look awesome, even though no one else can understand them.

It annoys me to no end.

Then you've got the overuse of the ^_^ smilies and other things of that nature.

And, of course, their #1 dream to visit Japan someday.

I dunno, I guess I'm wrong for thinking that it's annoying for some people to be like that. I've always caught it as being trendy. There's nothing really that great about Japan, really. At least to me.

I'm thankful my games come from Japan then translated into English and released here.

I'm thankful for the few good animes I've watched from Japan.

But, the fanboyism needs to die!

And now, lol, afk.. gotta import my crates of Pocky from Japan because the ones they sell down here in the stores in US aren't true authentic Pocky.

I have a few "I'm Asian on the inside" fanboy friends, and I flogged them until they stopped.

I'm the complete opposite of Japanese fanboy. I've no problem with Japanese or Japanese people, but I don't like anime, I don't why anyone would rather eat pocky than just chocolate, I'm indescibably annoyed by J-pop, and I don't have any sort of desire to visit Japan. (or anywhere else for that matter.)
