You know all those things like porn and mature rated video games and things like credit cards that require you to be 18 years or older. Well...okay...video games is kinda not so tight but...you know what I mean...

Seriously though. What magical transformation happens at 18 that all of a sudden you're allowed to do things like have a credit card, buy porn, legally buy 'M' rated video games without the video game store people being angry at you. I mean...is stuff like that more suitable for people 18 as opposed to people 15? To me, it just doesn't make any sense. What is it, companies wanna block this kinda stuff from 15 year olds...only until they're a few years older?!

It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. But...the world we live in is not very fair, nor does it make much sense. Reply if you agree or disagree.

Those have been my thoughts. Thank you.

It's a thing called "law". You can't do so much against it. Like it or not, our way of living need some rules.

And consider yourself lucky: in some countries you become "adult" at 20 or 21.

Wanna see porn at 15? It's your right, dam! If you're asking for some links sorry, I can't post them here. ^_^;

No place to complain, some countries don't even allow porn, or M rated titles.

Well, I sure wouldn't want my future child to see hot F-D-A action on a decapitated, bloody corpse at an early age of about 5. I guess it's just popular soveriegnty or however it's spelled, that made the age 18 or so. Some people can "handle" it at earlier ages, though. Mmmm, I need kittie pr0n.

Oh yeah, the companies and stores would love to sell everyone pr0no and gore, but they'd probably get in trouble with the law =3. Neko is right! *sucks up to neko for web storage space =^_^=*

And it used to be that a boy would become a "man" at the tender age of 13! Don't ask about women, maybe the same.

hmmm... violence, gore, and porn...When it comes to M rated games, It kinda sux to have the age requirement of 17, knowing I could have gotten great games like MGS or Halo. But I choose most of the stuff I want, and none of it's illegal. I mostly don't buy M games cause they're mostly survival horrer, and I scare easily >_< Others are just stupid looking plotless games that I don't want a part of.

porn is a different story. I'm not ashamed of peoples bodies, but I don't wanna indulge in such things. To me, it's gross.

and that's my 2 cents, not worth 2 cents.

It probably has something to do with the large majority of 15 year-olds not being mature enough to handle that kind of stuff. Some are easily effected by different forms of media, so you have to draw the line somewhere for certain things (which is age 18).

Some might be mature enough to handle what you mentioned at an early age, but you can't have one rule for a bunch of 15 year-olds, and another rule for another set of 15 year-olds. That would cause all kinds of problems if division/segregation like that was carried out.

True ... but:

"Laws should be fallowed only in the situation where it's obligatory and logical to respect them. Exemple: Why stop at a red light if you clearly see that no one is comming from both directions?; Why cross the street while the light is red for you and that someone is coming from the other direction?"

I mean geee, if people nowdays could just use commun sence, there wouldn't be so much accident and all ... they just dare the devil and die trying ... worst, they kill while trying and some get away with it. By "getting away with it" I mean surviving an accident caused by there stupid actions, while removing the life of one/many other/s.

Anyway, back to the topic, hmmm, I don't have much to say, except that you all have a point >everyone http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Yep. In some cases common sense become a "non wrotten" law (fuck... I studied law for four years at university... but an example doesn't come in mind right now... maybe my brain is gettin rotten O_o ).

But you can't completely rely on people common sense since most people don't have it ^_^. And common sense is subjective. My common sense, as kid grown in Italy, may be different from a US kid, JP and so on. Different cultures, different senses... This reflects also on "real laws" in any different country.

This is why law is necessary.

Anyway... BWS have you checked that little kinky video in my sig? ^_^

Hamtaro is okay. As for vidoegames, I dont see why they make you check your ID now. I mean I played my first M rated game at the age of 9. The way to get around the system is to have a relative buy it for you. As for porn, I think it should be free.

I say let it stand.

There are people out who are 35 and can't handle this type of stuff. And alot of the 18 yr olds can't take it, either. Hell, there are PLENTY of 16 yr olds that shouldn't be driving.

Trust me, it's for your safety. You'll thank us when you're older(Damn, by saying this phrase, am I in turn, old? :sweatdrop: )

Pfffft... I'm 15 (16 next month), and i've seen more porn than you would believe. And has it warped my mind? has it made me treat women as sex objects? NO. I've seen plenty of horror movies. Have i ever killed anyone? NO.
