Since when was any game ever made for the purpose of being cheat coded?

Well, when you played the game through once without cheats then after you finish, cheat away! That's my philosophy

The problem is, not everybody follows your philosophy.
Opinions are subjective. Everyone has one and not everyone is going to like it.
I heard horror stories of 12 year olds using their Gamesharks to see the ending of something like Resident Evil 2 the first time they ever popped it into their Playstations. Seeing the 1% of a 100% game. I didn't believe this story until I saw it myself.
Anyone who played the first releases of PSO has seen a lot of terrible things, which could not be stopped.
7 characters(besides myself, always only 4 maximum allowed) running around in my locked game, entering without my knowledge, then proceeding to reset my Dreamcast and lose my items and character at the same time(before I could leave or save and quit, due to the lag, and loss of my controls)? Fun, indeed. Not hurting anyone, indeed. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_no.gif

I posted 3 minutes after you.
While I was writing my post, you posted yours.
I didn't see yours until after I posted mine and I went about my business elsewhere. I came back and read it.
Also your sig(nature picture is way) too big, friend. 180 pixels height by 600 pixels width.
No worries, I also made the mistake of a large height signature my first time posting an image(picture) as well.
Don't let the cheating affect your playing, if at all possible. Games are supposed to be fun. Using cheats to affect other online players in the community is not fun.

AR codes not harmful?
There are codes to cause FSOD, but these are not harmful?
There are codes that attempt to cause BSOD, but these are not harmful?
The GC version hasn't lived long enough for ST to release things like the Red Ring and Parasitic Gene, thanks to AR codes. And that is not harmful?
THINK AGAIN MORON!

That I can agree on.

NOL,FSOD,LFSOD,SCS,PK(I think?),CS and others are harmful codes that can be done with AR. Anything can be abused if used in such manner.

2 things,1:those are not AR codes that FSOD those are not from AR they are of peoples own design. 2:Dont insult people on forums.Or you will be reported.

So you're saying that the AR codes that originally came with the device are nice, and that we cannot judge the AR software based on what potential it holds?
That's like saying Hitler was great for unifying Germany and resurrecting the souls of a beaten people, but completely ignoring the negative bits.

let me say this, as it is correct in all ways of thinking, unless your opinion differs from mine.
Hacking by any means, (lag exploits, FSOD, AR, source-code manipulation) is wrong by the simple fact that it is against the terms of agreement wich you agreed to the moment you started a new save file. Wether or not going against these terms will bring a punishment is a non-issue, as it is illegal to begin with. (for example, you steal a 25 cent pack of bubble gum, its just as illegal as stealing someone's car.)
wether or not you are malicious or benevolent in your useage of an AR is beside the point, as it is still wrong as per you playing the game at all.

As far as I am concerned AR was made to allow people to make their own codes. Thus the harmful codes ARE AR codes.
Also, AR came with NO codes for PSO at all. So even the nice ones would not count as AR codes?
If I follow your line of reasoning all the way, there are no AR codes for PSO. Then tell me why it is that AR is hurting so much.
2:Dont insult people on forums.Or you will be reported.
I didn't just use a rude word (and worse than this has been used on this forum without much problems that I know of) It is not as much an insult as well as an expression of my shock to see a claim like yours. I also tried to show what caused that shock. If you can't see what I am getting at you truely are a moron. If you want to report me for telling the truth in all its ugliness, go right ahead. From what I know of the moderators here, I think I will be ok.
