You ppl don't understand do you? you really don't understand, take AR and imagine it as a gun, now if someone takes that gun and shoots another person for no reason.... then it is bad, but if it is used in self defense, then it is helpful, but without it you are fighting with you bare hands. AR was a tool made to enhance gamers' experience when they have beat the game, codes such as unlimited ammo, walk through walls, and invinciblility were there to make the game fun after it has been played, codes like FSOD were not intended for it. if you want to put the blame of FSOD and similar codes on somebody, blame sonic team for (after seeing what could happen on dreamcast) not removing FSOD and similar operations from the fabric of the game, they put the ability in the game, and now it is ruining the game, when AR came out, there were no codes for PSO, but then Datel released 3 PSO codes, the (m) code, an infinite HP code, and an infinite TP code, that is all! but some people were not satisfied, they went to make their own codes, and when they were making codes, they found this nice little program in the game that caused the game to freeze and the character to lose held items, they made a code to execute that program when a certain word appeared, there are similar routes for the other harmful codes.
Most of you people are like "AR is the worst thing to ever come into stores" well, your wrong, its the people with malicious intent that are angry at the world that do this for "fun" and crying about it is only making them happier to know that they are making you mad too, if you are mad about getting an FSOD or something, go looking for the codes, because along with the codes for FSOD are the codes for ANTI FSOD, yes they exist, on several sites, but i cant list them here because of the rules, just go looking, they can be found, some sites will even teach you how to make your own ANTI codes, so stop complaining about AR and use it to your advantage.
I know that some people are just gonna try to make me look bad in some way, and some people are just going to end up and be stubborn and say that AR is bad no matter what, but maybe they just dont want to dish out the $20 to get one for a game that they spend HOURS complaining about the cheaters on, trust me, get it, get the ANTI codes, and STOP complaining, its not going to get you anywhere at all.

Cause surely what you think reflects everyone.

Just like there are people that don't get a gun for selfdefence because they think guns are just too dangerous, there are people that don't feel the need for the wonderous enhancements of AR because of all the harm that can be done.
On top of that, using AR, even for benevolent codes is still against the ToS. I will not break the ToS to protect myself from people breaking the ToS.

Eh, decided it wasn't really worth it.

Only read about halfway, been reading over the WoW forums for the past couple hours, my tolerance for bad grammar is nil.

One comment on FSOD. The AR does not, nor will it ever "run a program that ST put in" to freeze a game. The AR does not run programs. It changes hex code in memory addresses. ST did not put the program to allow FSOD in the game. Quite honestly, in any online game, there are ways to flood or otherwise hamper someone elses reciept of packets so that the game DCs or freezes, depending on its latency protection methods.

you're both wrong, but both right about the FSOD thing, it does edit a hexadecible code in the game that creates an unknown error, which is on call of the person using the FSOD code. The word select FSOD for example reverses the translation coding, when the game recives this packet it doesn't know how to use it, like when your computer says bad command or file name, so it freezes because it was issued an order but didn't know how to execute it, and due to its programming, it is not allowed to ignore orders.
now continue arguing about whatever, I'm yoinking

*yoink!*

first FSOD lol?
and second your comparing an action replay to a gun
thats sad
you should compare it to drugs not guns

I heard this before, Action Replay can protect you from FSOD or others things, but...some codes are harmful to other people. Not all people can afford to get one. Imagine if there was never a FSOD, Disconnect, or Corrupt code. The aR for defense will be useless. This is what I think what may happen.

( 1 to 100% maybe )
