Sure, there are the floating stickies, but they don't really relate to this. Anyway, I'm sure most of you have yet to hear of this, but there's a new glitch. We like to call it the Item Synchronization Error, or in short, the ISE.
If Sonic Team doesn't get a fix on this, get ready to call the next FSOD a ISE. "I just got ISE'd"
Anyway, ISE is when the server does something to your list of weapons and such on the server side and it ends up getting corrupted or something missing. Not sure how, maybe packet loss, but never the less, it's big trouble.
So, you may now be wondering, what will this do? Well, for starters, you can't buy/sell/use/drop/deposit/withdraw ANYTHING. You also can't switch weapons or other items. You're pretty much stranded with whatever weapon the server leaves equipped on you, which can sometimes even be a normally unequippable for you class, eg. a Cane on a RAcast.
So, now you're wondering about a fix. Is there one? Yes, but you might have problems with it. See, I just got over this problem and in the end, lost my level 55 mag. Anyway, this is the only known fix.
To fix this, create a 1 person (single player) mode team and go to the bank. Now, I'm not sure what you can do here, but I'd almost recommend banking everything in your inventory. Then, press ESC till you're all the way back to Pioneer 2 and free to move. After this, withdraw all you need.
Anyway, cheers and good luck avoiding this glitch. You CAN lose things from it.

I had it happen to me once when I was giving a bunch of materials to a friend. When she used one of them, it made the sound of an item merging (Like when you make summit moon) then we couldn't pick up or do anything besides walk around, and the server gave us both that error. But I didn't lose anything other than the few mats that were on the ground. Sounds like whatever you were doing really messed things up however.

Well, that's the thing. Nothing was wrong with this one. The only thing I was doing was playing a game with Banana ann. This was on a fresh install of PSOBB, too.

Its probably something related with the server being stupid and/or your internet connection. lol
That's unfortunate. PSOBB was looking so remarkably stable from my end, too! I remember that when I played XBOX I'd get FSOD and whatnot on a regular basis. A lot of that had to do with the sad state of my XBOX, yes--there's something wrong with the disc drive and sometimes it bluescreens on the basis that it can't read the disc--but even without that it was fairly bad.
I haven't had any problems with PSOBB, but I'll look out for this. Thanks for the tip!

I got that twice, I lost nothing http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif
The servers are not as good as on GC, from what I've seen. Sure there is no FSOD, but apart from that, they suck.
I've also got three critical errors from the game itself, yay for PC games.

Heh. Item loss on BB is nothing new.
Back during JP open Beta and even in to retail, anything dropped on the floor was as likely as not to end up 'corrupted' and anyone that tried to pick it up got DCed. It happened most often with a good number of items on the ground(Like the usual "Here's a bunch of tech disks, take what you need" situation), though it could happen with just a couple.
Then there was the 'BB decided you took too many items out of your bank too quickly' glitch. Which is what caused most item loss. Basically, you'd be withdrawing a bunch of stuff(Grinders, mats, whatever), and if it randomly decided you were doing it too quickly and god forbid you didn't know exactly how many free spaces you had in your inventory and hit the button a couple too many times, you'd end up disconnected and the last item in your inventory would either corrupt or just disappear. This could also happen if you were USING mats or grinders 'too quickly'(Too quickly, incidentally, is the normal rate at which people use them on GC).
So yeah. BB item loss/fuckeries are nothing new. And there isn't shit to be done about 'em except to hope it doesn't happen to you. :D

LoL. I guess they solved all problems from GameCube and decided to add some new, more annoying ones!! Hopefully PSU will not have these problems. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Not when they basicly just straight port one version to another with little changes.
In Forest 1, a Gigabooma still comes up out of the gound like a foot off it (like he's floating when he comes up), it's been like that since day one of Ver1.

Getintothegame, you DID report this using the bug report forum right?
And you DID make a topic in the technical support forum on the PSO BB official site right?
Becuase if you didn't I'm going to cry. .-.

I noticed this too the first time I ran through the forest in PSOBB. I laughed because I wondered why they have never fixed that little tiny problem.

I've just let the tech support section on the official site know about this problem, hopefully they can correct it soon.. until then, I'm minimizing what I carry. or go level up a low character, since I'm not struck on the idea of losing items in PSO again http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Oh the poor peoples whos lag makes the game think they have 31/30 items after everything is picked up.
Seriously, the easy fix, wait 1 second before picking up another item.

Also, when giving people mats or techs, use the exchange function. They can preview what they will get and choose from there, so you don't need to get all your techs on the floor to pick them up all again and deposit them later.

The 'Send Item' function isn't even working yet is it?
http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif
Does this glitch only tend to happen when you pick up items too quickly then? Or are there other unforeseen times it happens?
Kef, when it happened to you, were you in the process of picking up items?
Skorpius

You can send items.
You can also use the Trade Window.

I agree with that. If ST got up off their arses and actually tried to fix these problems better, we could finally play PSO how it should be. My RA carries 4 weapons, sometimes 3, but since Ive heard of this, I refuse to use more than 2. One reason I looked forward to BB was so I could take a variety of weaponry, to allow me to adapt to the situation. (ie, line of Gilchics, use a shot, switch to mechs against Sinows). The thought of possibly losing items AGAIN is not promising.
The reason I asked is because there's a box right near you ('underneath' the error box), so I didn't know if you'd attempted to pick it up.
This sucks. Majorly.

Brace yourselves, it's time for another sad item loss story.
I was creating 4 of my first ever to-be satos (yes, I've been a very lazy mag farmer until recently), and after getting them all to around level 65, I decided to move them to my FOmar, who I was going to play on more.
After dropping all four in a passworded game (in pioneer 2), I disconnected and got back on Ruby. I picked up two and then - Ack! - Disconnected.
Hm. Ooook. Only after I tried two more times did I realize what had happened, and though I got the third, I lost the fourth mag (my blue garuda.. god rest your soul, young mag >.<) to what is now called ISE, apparently.
But it doesn't stop there. When I finally got them all to level 99 lastnight, I had a friend help me transfer them. Apparently BB also decided "WOAH! HOLD ON! WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING WITHDRAWING ITEMS THAT FAST! PSSH! DISCONNECTED!
I lost my purple, level 99 to-be sato as a result.
And then, upon finally transferring this time, I decided to use the trade window. Everyone on the official BB forums was yelling "Drop trading? Hah! You got what you deserved!", so I went with the trade window and a friend --
-- And guess what. Apparently it just wasn't my day, because the minute it said "items exchanged" I got another disconnect - and upon returning, I had now one last naga and one- what the- Rappy fan?
Somehow, and in some way, my level 99 mag turned into a rappy fan. Now if I only I could figure out how to make them into Double Cannons....
In the end, I lost 3 of my four to-be satos to that glitch, and friends have been losing items as well. This has the potential to become very bad - especially - when Ultimate mode, and the better rares come out.
We need to hold a protest. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Just my two cents.

This happened to me last week. I submitted a report and got some good response. Apparently, this bug has to do with some corrupted bit of data in the 'Party' or 'Game' itself when it was created.
I was playing with some friends, and created a game, they joined. It seemed like every time I used a monomate I got disconnected during this process. It also happened when I grabbed things from the Bank or sold anything. Eventually I started losing things. Little stuff, nothing rare thankfully.
I tried to join another game, and do the same things, no problem. So I rejoined the first game, and continued to have the ISE problem. Believe it or not, I didn't put two and two together that the issue was the Party itself. I had to have someone tell me *slaps self on forehead*
So yeah, something loaded improperly or was corrupted when the Party was formed, so that's why the problem kept happening only in that party, and in no others that I joined or formed.
Hope this helps a little (hoping more ST fixes this silly error ><)

Everyone did their jobs right, nothing can be done because THIS IS LAG. NO ONE can fix that. If ST allowed to correct this so it doesn't happen, that would open the door for hackers to do things.

Well, the servers could be upgraded...? XD
Just thinking out loud. But you do have a point. It is server lag related. Even still, there has to be something they can do, as our characters are server-side. Rollbacks? If you've got some kind of proof, that would be lovely.

How difficult is it to just pick up and withdraw items SLOWLY? Same thing with using Materials/Grinders.
It isn't THAT difficult to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN.

A-fucking-men. I was more paranoid about items on BB than I've EVER been on GC after even just the first couple of tech disks. Even more so after my Twin.
And when did these things happen? In the middle of acts that on EVERY OTHER VERSION OF PSO EVER MADE are perfectly normal and 100% safe! Yeah, there are three lowbie FOs in the game and I've got 40 useless tech disks to give away, why the hell would I use the trade window with them one at a time? I don't know which ones they need. I'm going to do the sensible, normal thing and DROP THEM so they can sort it out themselves.
Wonder how many bunpai pool rares have gotten eaten over the last year...
Oh look, I'm grinding a weapon. Grab the grinders as fast as possible, use as fast as possible, I've got +157 worth of these damned things and I don't want to be here all day, besides, I've done this how many billions of times before without incident? Like... Every single weapon I've ever ground on GC? Hell, I've ground HIGHER than that in one sitting on GC, online.
Funny how BB, which is supposedly so 'safe' for items, is even more dangerous than GC. -_-;;; Again, why the fuck should people have to change the way they've been playing for two, three, even four years just because ST managed to fuck yet another thing up? No, sorry, people. You fail, come back and try again.

My problem occurred when hitting the monomate button once, or selling just a single item. I don't think it's always a matter of speed. I'm always very deliberate in my actions.

Yeah, these particular problems aren't something that s purely client based. I think its crappy servers/lines.
Most of the people I've talked to on JPBB haven't lost anything due to this, and very, very rarely have even seen the error (A bunch don't even know what it is).
It still seems more like ST said "US BB? Eh, I guess we've got some room in the Janitor's closet for the servers."

Why would you carry an ungrinded s-rank twin? Do you KNOW how weak that is?
He also could've saved 157 grinders, gotten the twin then used.

Nice try at flaming, Saffran, but it didn't work. Next time don't make such stupid assumptions. ^_^
I'm pretty sure, actually, that you even KNOW I had a FOmar on BB as my main. :D So! Let's examine the following facts to determine why you fail. n.n
S-Rank Twin max grind: +250
S-Rank Twin ATP requirement: 800
Other weapons in use by Zero: Double Saber, Soul Eater, Red Handgun, all max ground.
Other weapons owned worth grinding at the time: None.
Planned weapons worth grinding: Soul Banish, max of +9; Holy Ray, max of +40.
FOmar max ATP: 1002
Approximate realistic level for a FOmar using a POW/DEX Mag who's eaten a good 50 Power mats to get 800 ATP: 113
Zero's approximate level when I earned the Twin: 73ish.
Approximate amount of time in which to save up +157 worth of Monogrinders, Digrinders and Trigrinders: Several months between the start of Open Beta and Zero reaching 800 ATP.
So let's see. I'd had the Twin for a good month or more sitting unusable in my bank, and I'd been saving grinders for said Twin from the beginning as I know from having several S-Ranks on GC that it takes a while to get enough grinders for a Twin. So wow, I was able to use it, and I wanted to grind it so it would be worth using, since unground S-Ranks have incredibly bad ATP. :D Yes, dear, I'm such a huge fucktard for doing something anyone with half an ounce of sense would do by default, aren't I?
Come back when you've actually learned something about PSO, thanks. ^_^

Instead of flaming, can we get back on topic? I believe the topic was this 'ISE', not the specifics of why someone would keep grinders.
From the looks of the official BB boards, a lot of people have encountered this problem. Last time I checked, there had been no mod/GM responses to any of these threads. I'm hoping they'll attempt to fix this in the next patch (which I'm gathering will be the release on June 10th?)
