While browsing the new/used record store after work today, some girl was looking for some anime they didn't have.

While walking past I hear
"Man, they don't have it! All they have is all this stupid Dragon Ball Z!"

Ah fudge.(trying to swear less)
I happened to be wearing one of my many DBZ shirts i purchased like 5 years ago.

They had plenty of anime by the way, used, new, everything I could think of. Popular and cult stuff.
I didn't catch the name of the one she was looking for though, and picked up some Trigun and Big O. Volume of Trigun being 6 dollars. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

This has been a blog worthy moment in my life, thanks for reading it(or not). http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Being a shitty anime anyway doesn't help, either. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, it was soo shitty. In fact, I never knew what caused endless sequels for it in Japan, and made Bandai release games for it almost 20 years after being first aired.

Well for me it was more of a rite of passage as it was what the older kids were into at the time.

I have old EGM's which my brother saved from at least ten years ago of Super Famicom versions of DBZ.

Kamehameha was a password to get into the library where the older kids were hanging out. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
Mom went to Japan in like '97, we asked for DBZ toys, none were to be found. She came back with B-Daman(bomberman) junks.

So DBZ was "cult" per se(as a kid 13 or younger), until you grow up and realize that its a long drawn out soap opera based on knowing versions of a character others don't yet, and glorifying special attacks with saying the names out loud-again and again- for emphasis.

But it does lead to craploads of fan art. Gets kids into a habit of sketching something they do enjoy sketching and showing off.

Also, not many stores sell a lot of anime inspired shirts that are not DBZ.

Serious cash cow(s). DBZ, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, whatever the heck is next in line.

Yeah, the ones that, if its arms moved, then you'd be lucky.

In the DBZ universe, just standing there is an action. An action requiring several episodes.

I remember I would occasionally watch bits of DBZ as I would flip through channels after school... I was always so puzzled with how I could see a clip one week and then see what must have been 5 minutes later in the plot the next week.
